The day before we checked since hadn't heard from anyone and had made arrangements for someone to be home between 8 and 12. Now online shows Aug2026 with NO DATE OR TIME LISTED. Called spoke to someone with their appointment dept. / secretary, who informed that the appt. was now Aug. 30th between 8 and 12. (mind you we paid in May2026) NO Calls to notify date change. We are STUCK with them until we can save up enough to pay to change companies since EVERYONE charges at minimum $1200 for new service contract. It is obvious JayRoy knows most can't afford to just change companies hence they have done nothing to fix there poor service tactics. (Terminex & Jay-Roy seem to work out of the Same location in Baton Rouge Although Rentokil now owns Jay-Roy without changing name) -- We would not recommend this company to anyone and are tired of the stress of annually having to pay in advance before they will even consider putting on their appointment calendar and then MONTHS later they finally get to you after repeated calls and inquiries of when service will be performed. Thank God. Within the first 5 minutes of site visit their inspector pointed out that the insect we were dealing with was the poultry mite from European starling birds nesting in our walls. These lovely creatures had drilled holes above our porch columns and shacked up with us. That would have been fine, I guess, except for the fact that THEY WERE INFESTED WITH POULTRY MITES. For the love of all things holy. It was quite the marathon - head to toe (literally the instructions were to sleep with this cream on from neck to bottom of your soles) lice treatment. Twice! And twice because until LaJaunie came - we had NO IDEA where these poppy seed - sized buggers were originating from. Enter LaJaunie's... 1) Insect (excuse me, arachnid) identified. 2) treatment applied. I had one issue that needed sorting and the owner personally called me and made sure his best team visited my home. 3) follow up from the best of the best wildlife squad JOBIE and SHANE. They shut the poultry mite operation down. Permanently. Then they offered to help me unload my vehicle of groceries and help set up my 8 year old daughters birthday party. What? That exists? In my opinion, do NOT automatically believe the company's response without reviewing the actual facts and documentation yourself.** My experience with LaJaunie's Pest Control was extremely disappointing and financially stressful. I was sold a very expensive rodent package, including approximately **$18,000 in exclusion work** that was supposed to help prevent rats from entering the home, in addition to attic cleaning and ongoing pest services. Despite all of this work and money spent, I STILL had rodent activity afterward and was repeatedly told to "just wait, it takes a while." **PLEASE READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY.** From my understanding, the cancellation terms heavily favored the company and included major financial penalties tied to the remaining balance of the agreement. The billing issues became even more concerning: * After already making **11 out of 12 payments**, I was told I could cancel and would not owe additional payments. * I later continued receiving charge notifications and attempted charges to my card. * I spoke with **Shelly twice** and was specifically told there would NOT be an additional **$49 charge** because they were "just picking up bait boxes." * Another charge was still processed anyway. * When I called back, management stated I still needed to pay. I was also told the company "records everything," yet the information later being described as part of my alleged agreement was NOT what I stated during the conversations. I requested copies of the recordings they referenced and am still waiting. Fortunately, I also keep my own records of conversations. When I raised concerns, I was told the employee involved "no longer works for the company." Again: PLEASE document everything in writing, save screenshots, review every clause carefully, and get multiple opinions before committing to any large pest-control contract.

It was replaced with fresh bait, but I question if that was all they should do ? Doesn't an empty canister indicate termite activity ? My house is raised and underneath is easily accessed. Should not a visual inspection of under the house in the area of the empty canister been done ? I feel it should be done. Apparently LaJaunie's inspection procedures don't require actually looking for infestation. A visual inspection would have given them a GREAT rating instead of a 2. Guess I'll get under the house and do the visual inspection myself.

Company sends a message a few days before the service is going to be performed. You can always call and change the date, customer service has always been great. Trent, the technician, will then send a message when he is in the way and another on arrival. He starts by spraying the garden and then treating the house. When we moved in we had an exterior spider problem that got resolved. We are very happy with the punctuality, and professionalism that Trent has provided. Highly recommend them!
