Raw dough sausage roll
Marti T.

Where do I start? [[HIGHLIGHT]]3pm on a Saturday afternoon & pretty much an empty restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated towards the back which was odd since the only other table occupied was near the front door, family of 6.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was super nice. We ordered garlic cheese bread for an app, it came quickly and directly out of the oven. Super hot and very good. I ordered a sausage roll with mushrooms which came out burned with fully uncooked dough throughout. Hello cook....your oven is too hot! Dipstick. The outside dough was glistening in so much oil I had to pat it dry to remove the excess. No bueno!!! I picked through the minimal sausage & mushrooms - while it tasted good, it was NOT worth the $14 price tag!!! Where's the damned sausage????? I'll drive from Angola to Fort Wayne to Lexy's Pizza next time! They don't overcharge & load 'em up as it should be. Hubby's large piece of Lasagna was perfectly presented & was super saucy. It tasted great. Huge let down on the sausage roll which I never sent back, and left for them to see their shitshow coming out of the kitchen on a Saturday afternoon. With a final bill with tip it was $56 and a vow to remember not to go back. Come on Salvatori's - you're better than this! Even the small New Haven location outshines this one.

Gluten-free penne with red sauce

Plesantly surprised by this Italian restaurant in Auburn Indiana. We stopped here after having no luck at some of the other local establishments. I'm glad we did! Though the location puts you in the mind of a franchise chain restaurant, the food, feel, and familial atmosphere certainly uphold the rich traditions of this restaurant. The service was top notch! Ashley, our server, was knowledgeable of all the dishes, patient with us as we tried to create our own dish because we have so many dietary restrictions, and she made the experience very personal. They have a small but effective selection of beer and wine. We had the moscato and it was so good we had to get another glass. Who ever thought you could get Authentic Italian wine in the middle of Indiana!?! The food was delicious! They have GLUTEN-FREE options and plenty of variations for non-meat eaters. I had the gluten-free penne with their signature red sauce. Tasted very authentic and it was hearty. I originally got the blackened salmon with it but it was undercooked (in my opinion) so I sent it back. Without even asking, Ashley recommended the shrimp as a replacement. She was right. The shrimp was perfect! I also had the gluten-free crust cheese pizza with black olives and Mancini peppers. So tasty! Overall, I enjoyed this quaint establishment. We realized the next day this restaurant has multiple locations. Which in my opinion, demonstrates they are doing something right. The only reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 was the restaurant dining room and location. It was in need of a bit more space and I nicer spot. The dining experience should match the dining room. I'd love to see them open up somewhere they have their own parking lot entrance and not tucked between other businesses. They deserve to have their own spot!

A nice 10" pepperoni & sausage pizza.

I had a craving for pizza this evening and it just happens that Salvatori's is just up the road from my hotel. I hopped on their website, placed an order for a 10" pepperoni & sausage pizza and waited a few minutes before I headed there to pick it up. Salvatori's is at the end of a building that houses a gas station at the opposite end. The are a couple of other businesses in between. I parked and walked in. I was immediately greeted and asked if I wanted to sit or place a carryout order. I said I was there to pick a pizza up and it wasn't a minute before they came back from the kitchen, pizza in hand. I hopped back in the van and came back to the hotel. When I opened the box, I thought they had made a mistake but I quickly realized there was fresh parsley sprinkled over the top. I've seen and had fresh basil sprinkled over the top of pizzas, but never parsley. I didn't mind it, it was just surprising. The pizza was layered with sauce, sausage, cheese, and pepperoni on top. The sausage was thinly minced so when it was spread over the sauce, you were guaranteed a bite of sausage with every bite. A plus for me! The cheese had a nice pull, and the pepperoni was spicy with crispy edges. The pizza was almost perfectly round which says to me that the dough is pre-shaped and ready to go when they receive an order. There isn't anything wrong with that, but I would expect a hand tossed pizza from a place that had authentic and Italian in the name. Just my thoughts. Anyway, when I picked up the first slice, I was a bit disappointed becasue the bottom of the slice was very moist. Soggy really. I don't mind and soft bottom to a pizza slice, but soggy... meh. The pizza did taste good and I had a few pieces to satisfy my hunger and left the rest in the box for maybe lunch tomorrow. Overall, I give Salvatori's a solid 4-stars. They have other American-Italian dishes which I am sure are very good. I'll have to give a try the next time I up in Auburn for work. Salvator's Authentic Italian Eatery is just off of I-69 in Auburn, Indiana and is worth a stop to quench that hunger you may be feeling from being on the road.

Sausage, mushroom, extra cheese calzone. I just had to extra dipping sauce.

Best pizza place in Indiana. Originating in Muncie, Greek's pizza is the king of Ball State. I…read moredon't know why Greeks hasn't caught on all over. This is my favorite pizza on the planet. The sauce rules. The garlic butter (painted on the BEST breadsticks and frequently the crust of the pizza). A large cheese pizza is amazing alone, but I recommend the gourmet house pizza (which comes with feta). Dang it this place rules! Go here as soon and as often as you can because they're an endangered species!

Her words were, "wow this is the nicest restaurant I've ever been to." It was our 2nd visit, actually was better than the first visit. We ended up ordering the girls a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza plus an order of bread sticks. The girls ate a couple bread sticks and 4 slices of pizza each. They loved the pizza. The bread sticks were loaded in butter and garlic sauce. My husband and I ordered an XL pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was so delicious. Yes, we have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch or dinner. Cold pizza is the best ever. The restaurant was nice and clean. Bathrooms were also clean, that's a plus in my book. Nasty bathrooms make for a bad experience. Our server was great, altho it took her a bit to refill my drink, all is good she got to it. Over all we had a pleasant experience this evening. They played Christmas Music in the background. That was nice for the Holiday. Very enjoyable to listen to. We will definitely be back to Pizza Forum.

Coterie Pizza (hwy 327, Garrett, Indiana) - for delicious stone fired pizza and relaxed/casual…read moredining We made a return trip to Coterie after a 3 year absence. Coterie is easy to find. Head north on 327...about 15 minutes north of Dupont Road. They are located in a strip mall, just as you get into town, on the west side of the road. There is plenty of easy-access parking. The restaurant is smaller as it holds about 50 people. It can be busy. There are ample tables for 4 people and some for parties of 8-10 people. The menu is fairly small with only 8 specialty pizzas. Only two items on the appetizer menu - the beer cheese is a MUST try. The pizzas seem pretty reasonable priced for a 12 inch stone fired pizza - $13.45. Coterie has self serve beverage service. You can choose from one of five local beers - and pay by the ounce. Or you can fill up your cup at the soda/tea center. The team here is very friendly and helpful. They all work hard to make sure you have a good customer experience - which we did! Plenty of kitchen help to keep the food rolling..especially at peak diner time! Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Caprese salad: smaller dish for $5.99. All cherry tomatoes and basil were very fresh and cool to taste. The mozzarella cheese and toppings blended well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors. Easy to share. -Beer Cheese ($6.99): a layer of pizza dough rolled out thin and baked to a slightly chewy texture. The dough has a slight garlicky flavor and cut into nice sized shareable pieces. The beer cheese is smooth, creamy and dreamy! You get hints of beer amongst the mild cheese flavors. The sauce is a bit thin and simply addicting! -Chicken bruschetta pizza: The golden brown crust is a little tough as it is well baked but still chewable. No special flavors are added to the crust. The bottom was soft and white. The chicken bruschetta is not your typical pizza creation. The tomato sauce was rather thin and only added a mild tomato taste zip. The chicken was tender and picked up the flavors that surrounded it nicely. The cherry tomatoes and basil toppings were very fresh and tasty. They blended really well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzles. The fresh mozzarella cheese was sprinkled in enough to help hold all the toppings in place. If you liked the Coterie Caprese salad...you would really like the chicken bruschetta pizza!

Good ole pizzeria in Garrett…read more.. We've seen a lot of press about CP lately, so the ole ball and chain wanted to give it a Go... Good pizza. It's kind of light, fluffy, and crispy all in one. I really liked their red sauce and they load the pizzas up with toppings. Our bill was $60 for two pies (we brought home one of them because those suckers are yuuuuge), a house salad, and two local crafties... That's a win in today's restaurant price gouging world. The restaurant itself is rather plain looking, but it's clean and the service was good... While I don't think CP is on the same level as Oley's, 800 Degrees, or Three Fires, we'll come back because it's respectable pizza. Dave Portnoy 7.7
