Runners Roost has been part of the Colorado running culture since 1977, when the first location opened in Colorado Springs. Over the years it has grown carefully to about ten locations across the Front Range, while still keeping that independent, community-driven feel. The Fort Collins store absolutely carries that spirit. Even though I didn't end up buying shoes this time, I really enjoyed the energy and vibe of the shop. It's welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly built around people who actually run and understand the sport. They also carry a serious lineup of brands. You'll find running staples like HOKA, Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, New Balance, Altra, and On, along with apparel and gear designed specifically for runners and endurance athletes. What stood out to me most was the variety. Whether you're a serious marathon runner, a trail runner, or someone who just wants a comfortable pair of walking shoes, there are plenty of options to explore. Fort Collins has a lot of great shops in Old Town, but places with nearly 50 years of running heritage are rare. Runners Roost is one of them. In November 2025, they replaced a hand brake cable that had broken. I was charged $40 in labor and nothing for parts as the limited five-year warranty for the cable was in effect. Less than two months later the same cable broke. When I called to ensure that they could fix it today if I brought it in, I was told that I would have to pay for parts and labor since the warranty only covers one repair per walker. That detail was not stated in my warranty information. I was transferred to the owner and was told to bring it in, and he could see what he could do. Upon arrival at the store, the owner came out of his office, made no eye contact, did not speak, and took the walker. As he was departing, I said that I had a question about the warranty. He replied, "I told you I would cover it." I said that my husband has severe MS and relies heavily on the walker. My intention was to try to understand what is and isn't covered by a warranty for a vital piece of equipment. I asked what a limited warranty covers. His reply was, "Whatever I decide to cover. If you drill out the hand brake, I won't cover it." I said that was not the case, and that we had not tried to repair the walker. He walked away with no further words. When I returned to pick up the repaired walker, I was told there would be no charge. The owner brought out the walker, asked me to test the brake, which I did and then he walked away. There was no apology. I purposefully purchased this walker from a local business, even thought it was much cheaper on Amazon. However, my experience with Mobility and Me demonstrated that they are all in on the sales, and don't want to deal with issues related to broken equipment. For people who are caring for disabled people who rely on equipment to live, this is the opposite of the type of experience we should receive.

Luna did an excellent job at helping me. The store was busy and she did a good job of managing every ones needs. I got the shoes I wanted, then she showed me another pair for a great price. I only was looking for a pair of shoes, but I ended up getting three because the prices were good, and the shoes were beautiful. They didn't have the right size for one pair I wanted, but Luna helped me order them while still retaining the Buy One Get One half off deal. Amazing service and great shoes. We got the babies into their strollers, my daughter shut the door to her vehicle and immediately realized she had locked her keys in the car !!! A moment of panic set in but we decided to make some phone calls and continue shopping since it was a lovely day. A friend of my daughters' and her husband came to our rescue but it took him a couple of hours to finally get us unlocked. It was getting chilly and dark by this time.... We noticed a vehicle from Laramie parked next to ours and wondered if we knew them. Lo and behold, here walks Rhonda and Dan Baccari, who we have known for years !!!! Their daughter in law, Maia is an owner but she wasn't working that day. They asked Tanja if we could come in (they were closed by this time) and stay warm with the babies. "Of course !" she said ! So we all went in and she had toys for the babies to play with, crackers to snack on and lots of attention to give the babies. What a gracious and kind thing for her to do for us ! She helped us load up the babies once we were unlocked and wished us well on our travels back to Cheyenne. We can never thank her enough for her kindness and generosity that day but if you ever have the chance to meet her you'll see what a special person she is !!! One had wheels that were slightly out of round. We called Lectric Bikes, they told me to take it to any of several shops. We took it to EMOG&B. Lectric Bike told me they would reimburse us. Extra Mile told me it would be ready the next week, Friday, I think. It was ready early. They did more than we expected. We purchased a bike rack on Amazon (more later). We are RVers and went on a road trip. Our bike rack broke, it was a bad design. Got authorization for refund from Amazon, since a replacement (like for like) or refund only options. So I called Extra Mile. Ultimately Caleb told me about Hollywood Racks and quoted me the same price that they sell for online. I ordered the Hollywood RV Rider from Extra Mile and Caleb estimated a delivery for the next Wednesday. He called on Tuesday and when I got to the store, they had assembled the rack, put it on our truck and showed me how to use it. That to me and my wife is home run! If you are shopping due , to street construction you need to be creative to get there, but if you want great service, give them a try.

I bought boots from Whitesides in Greeley and I wore them twice. I noticed a big glob of glue in…read more two places on each boot at the seam of the sole and barely touched it and it came off exposing where the seam of the sole was coming apart from the the boot. I wear these for dancing so I knew they would not last well. I took them back to the store and I was immediately told that because I wore them I could not return them or exchange them. I had brought my receipt, the box, and everything for the boots. The employees were extremely rude and the manager took one of the boots back to a male employee who tried to tell me the boots were fine and it didn't matter because it looked like I had wore them alot and since I wore them outside they would not take them back. I told him I would make sure that people were aware of their purchases there and how even when they sold defective boots they could not be returned. He was extremely rude and condescending, and his hands were shaking like a little chihuahua as he put the cardboard back in the boots. He obviously knew that the boots were defective and he didn't like being called out. These were only one of many boots I had purchased through my life and it completely baffles me that a store would not return a boot they sold that was obviously defective, and on top of that treat a customer so rude. I would stick to Boot Barn or somewhere else before I would ever purchase anything from this store again. They obviously sold a boot they knew was defective by the big glob of glue they put on it to hide the defect and then refused to exchange it. I have never had a problem returning a boot that I had a problem with before worn or not. You're definitely better off staying away from this store if you don't want to waste your money.
