Went here for lunch and it was incredible. The sampler platter appetizer was delicious and had a good amount of everything on it. The lamb shawarma was also amazing and the grilled vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked without being mushy. The woman working behind the counter was lovely -- she walked through the menu with us and was very friendly. The tea and pistachio baklava went perfectly together as a small dessert. First time here definitely not the last. The service was very friendly. The food was very fresh. Best hummus we ever had, bar none. We loved that the pita was on the thin side, healthier and less filling. We were 5 people and everyone loved what they had. Lamb was a great flavor, chicken perfectly seasoned. Remember to order the grilled veggies as a side. Definitely worth the $1 up charge. Our only negative was the rice, although cooked perfect, it needed a sauce, veggies or seasoning. We had dinner here last Friday. We've eaten here a dozens times in the past and always enjoyed the food. If it's possible, this food was even better than the past! Very fresh and really tasty. I'm vegan and the roasted vegetable platter was tremendous. My wife had the shawarma platter and said that was excellent. We tried this place based on the good reviews. I was extremely disappointed! We went on a sunny Saturday in April at around 4:30. There were no other customers in the restaurant. We walked in and sat down. A woman was sitting in the booth at the back and got up when we walked in. She disappeared into the back of the restaurant. We sat there looking at menus and no one ever came over to the table or said anything to us. We went up to order and wanted water instead of soda with our meal combo. The woman said she had to check to see if they had water. Weird. She said they had it but they weren't opening it for another two days. Whatever that meant. So no water for us! That's unacceptable to not have water in a restaurant. We should have left at that point. I got the falafel platter that came with fries, and on this day, soda. The falafel sandwich had a bitter taste to it. There were very hard, bitter pieces of iceberg lettuce hearts in it. The tzatziki sauce wasn't very flavorful. The wrap seemed store bought. It was very thin and fell apart as I ate the sandwich. I really wanted homemade pita bread. It was not a good tasting sandwich at all. It was very bland except for the bitter taste. Yuck. The fries were crinkled and nothing special. Overall, it was very disappointing. The chicken pita had a cinnamony taste to it. I wasn't impressed with that either. The woman who waited on us was pleasant. The male employee was not very friendly. We were the only customers the entire time we were there. The restaurant looked pretty clean, so that was a plus. The food was not good at all. It was edible at best. I'm very surprised at all of the good reviews. I will never go back! read more

6/5 stars. Can't stop raving about how delicious our lunch was. Drove a little over 20 mins to get here but was totally worth the trip. Ordered the lamb shawarma and chicken kebab entrees both with grilled veggies. Got a side of hummus and tzatziki. Food was ready quickly and served nice and hot. The chicken kebab was so tender and moist- absolutely delicious. The lamb was on the drier side but tasty. The lady who took our order was so sweet and gave us a small tasting of their housemade falafel, baba ghanoush and muhammara. The falafel was moist on the inside and crispy crunchy perfection on the outside. What blew me away was the sides- the tzatziki was one of the best I've had. Thick and creamy, not watered down and very flavorful. The muhammara and baba ghanoush were also spiced well and delicious. All nice and creamy, great texture. And they serve each entree with their homemade spicy tomato salsa which I didn't find to be spicy (but we have a high tolerance for spicy food) but it was sogood We took a menu home cuz we are def coming back or doing take out. I wish that I had bought my phone along to take pics of our food, but, alas... That stated, I went with my friend of thirty-plus years. In fact, he taught me how to make a lentil (dal) dish, and a great lamb stew. Needless to say,... THE. FOOD. WAS. GREAT!!! I ordered a Chicken Shwarma Sandwich and my friend ordered the (larger of two) Samplers. We shared our.. foods; he had 1/2 of my sandwich, and I 1/2 of his sampler. The food was so filling that we couldn't finish his sampler. It made for a great breakfast yesterday morning. The food was plentiful with generous portions and the prices are great too! The only (not really) negative thing I would suggest is to (sometimes) offer some soups. Not on a regular basis, mind you, but from time-to-time. Since eating there only two days ago, I have raved about Sama Grill and recommended it to most people I came across yesterday; and will still continue to do so. read more

Came here since we saw it was new to the area and actually took over the old sandwich spot Monty's. We got the falafels, the chicken and lamb Schwarma sandwich. The service was quick and friendly. The falafel was fresh, moist and and in the cutest heart shape. The sandwiches were good, although I did think they needed a bit of extra sauce not that it was dry or anything but just a hint of extra flavor. I got a side salad with mine that I really enjoyed while husband got fries that were average. We asked for more sauce for the falafels and I think they were going to charge us but was kind enough not to, since it was our first time but now we know. The ambiance was nice, quiet and if you have been to Monty's it was a few tables so pretty small. Overall happy a Mediterranean place took over this spot and will try more food options next time! read more

Great little Mediterranean spot, newly renovated and very clean. My wife and I stopped in and were in the mood for some gyros and schwarma sandwiches. We saw that they had falafels so we ordered those as well. Food came out pretty quick. The sandwich was good but I needed more sauce personally. I went up to ask for more and seemed like I was going to be charged for little dipping cup. I didn't care much for that. We would definitely come back for a quick lunch. read more

We have returned for full meals and/or baba (to which I am addicted) every weekend since our first visit. We are currently obsessed with the super-tasty chicken shawarma platter. Dipping the little chicken shards in Sama's garlic aioli is mandatory, BTW. The rice pilaf is 100% fluffy, individual grains of perfectly seasoned rice and is gorgeous beyond words (must concede that it is better than situ's). This reviewer is compelled to respond to the illiterate, punctuation-free word salad review associated with the lone, single star Yelp rating: (1) Nowhere does that review identify the dishes consumed; (2) the reviewer clearly has zero understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, inasmuch as kebabs are enjoyed throughout the countries that border the Mediterranean Sea; and (3) if the reviewer had actually consumed anything on the menu, he could not have concluded that the flavors were bland. And I actually am an expert on this cuisine, with well-more than four decades' experience eating, making, enjoying, and celebrating Levantine foods. IOW, do not credit that review. read more

Sama Grill is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! They serve authentic flavors with generous portions. The Chicken Shawarma (pita) sandwich was pretty big for the price. The Chicken itself was delicious, and there was a lot of it. They don't skimp on the meat here! The Falafel was delicious as well, and they're shaped like hearts, which was so cute! But we went anyway and the food was absolutely excellent!!!! I got a falafel wrap and it was probably the most flavorful falafel that I've ever had! We loved this. Ordered takeout and DH got chicken kabobs with rice and I got the large sampler. Seasoning was great, the food was generous, and the staff were so friendly. Hubs loved the kabobs (as did I) and we both adored the rice. The dolmas were great and the dips were so good and I'm in love with the pita bread.
