I always have to call them and even then they're slow to respond. Not too impressed. Not sure if all providers are the same - I see Dr Butler. Time to find someone new I suppose.

1 star -- Extremely disappointed in Syracuse Tanner Clinic and Dr. Nye…read moreI had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Tanner Clinic in Syracuse regarding my daughter's school medication paperwork. My daughter has been a patient at this clinic for approximately five years and most recently had her physical at Tanner Clinic in Syracuse with Robert Owens in June 2026. So this is not a situation where she is an unfamiliar patient or hasn't been seen recently. Her pediatrician, Robert Owens, had completed the school form for her EpiPen, but the Benadryl portion had not been completed. My daughter has used Benadryl a handful of times for hives following exposure to peanut-containing foods at school. I didn't realize the separate Benadryl form hadn't been completed until I went to turn the paperwork into the school. Robert Owens was out, so I went to Tanner hoping the issue could be resolved. Instead, I was told that Dr. Nye would not complete the Benadryl form because my daughter is listed as Dr. Owens' patient, even though we have seen both doctors. What was especially frustrating was being told that I would have to wait for Dr. Owens to return and that I could simply send my 8-year-old to school with Benadryl and have her self-administer it if she were exposed. I explained that the school does not allow this. I also don't think telling an 8-year-old to independently dose herself after being exposed to a potential allergen is an appropriate solution. I contacted patient advocacy hoping someone could help find a reasonable solution. After initially having difficulty getting through to an advocate, I was eventually told that the doctor could refuse to complete the form if he wanted. I understand that a physician has discretion over what they sign. What I don't understand is why there wasn't more effort to help resolve a straightforward school safety issue. This wasn't a request for a new prescription or a complicated medical decision. My daughter had literally had a physical at this same clinic with Robert Owens in June 2026, so her weight and medical information were current. She has also been a patient at Tanner for about five years. I have always been very complimentary of Tanner Clinic, Robert Owens, and Dr. Nye. I have repeatedly told them that I'm happy to see either pediatrician. That is why this experience was so disappointing, especially with Dr. Nye specifically. As a parent, I expected a pediatric clinic to work with us to make sure my child's school had the documentation it required for her medications and that there was a safe plan in place. Instead, I was essentially told to wait for her usual pediatrician, which would mean my child would miss the first day of school because the required paperwork wasn't completed. I am extremely disappointed in Syracuse Tanner Clinic and Dr. Nye specifically. This should have been a simple issue to resolve, and the way it was handled left me feeling frustrated, unsupported, and genuinely concerned about how a child's safety is being prioritized.
