Normally this is not allowed for in-network providers (Blue Cross) but if they make you sign for it on your initial visit, nothing BCBS can do. I have never been charged for prior authorization before and nothing like additional medical charges on top of the expensive insurance I pay and the ever increasing copays. His office refused to send the prescription to Walgreens and told me it was my responsibility. You can't speak to anyone directly, everything is done through a frustrating app or voicemail. He also prescribed the Libre 3 Plus sensor that wasn't covered by insurance, then dismissed my concerns when I explained the pricing issue. When I called the woman at the desk was impatient. She informed me I would not be seen for at least two months, the doctor would need all my records, review the records, and decide if he would take me as a patient. I tried to expedite my records by seeing how I could assist. She informed me they would get my records from my previous office. Since it's been over two weeks and no one has contacted me about a records release. I assume I should just keep shopping or take whatever kind of care i can get and hope for the best. That's healthcare in America.

I've also had pain injections done by him. I can't say enough good things about his staff. His nurses are always nice and accommodating, his PA is very knowledgeable and always answers questions and returns calls as soon and he's able. I have been in non stop pain for over a year, and any relief I've had came from Dr. Strausser's healing hands. I'm very blessed to have been recommended by people who have had great things to say about his ability.

Dr. Strausser and his staff, from the very beginning of the surgical process, were as professional, accommodating, and informative as a doctor can be. I came to him almost completely immobile, and walk today as well as I've ever been able to. His bedside manner was impeccable, and his assurance to my family after my laminectomy/discectomy was invaluable, giving me the comfort of knowing they were no longer worried. Not once was he anything other than exactly what I would expect from a surgeon of his stature. Would recommend 10/10 times.
