I don't usually write reviews, but this one is 100% deserved. Coming from San Francisco, I've tried plenty of places that call themselves "therapeutic," but most of the time you leave feeling good for the day... and the underlying issue is still there. I was visiting family in Connecticut and had tweaked my back pretty badly. I booked with Sammi Therapeutic Massage hoping for some relief and was fully prepared to pay top dollar without expecting much beyond temporary comfort. What I got was completely different. This was not just a massage -- this was actual healing work. She took the time to understand where my pain was, explained what she was doing (because I asked), and truly got in there and worked through the problem. The pain I came in with? Gone. If I had more time in CT, I would've gone back again just to continue the work and honestly get better sleep. She clearly knows the body and her craft. It's a private, by-appointment setup with a single table, and every second of it was worth it. From the comfortable setup to how she incorporated hot stones and intuitively read exactly what my body needed -- it felt intentional and effective. I'm genuinely so glad I didn't end up at another "typical" therapeutic spot that just goes through the motions. I'm sure there are other good places out there, but I don't see myself trying them anytime soon -- I feel like I found my person. If you're looking for a massage that actually fixes your knots and pain (not just temporarily relaxes you), this is your spot. I'd honestly consider flying back once a month for this. read more

My 42 year old daughter and I booked massages with Sammi. Her massage business space is small, but very clean and professional. Sammi was very pleasant and did a marvelous massage! My daughter has some shoulder pain and came away from the massage experience saying that it was the best thing ever! I had read a review from someone who thought the experience was traumatizing and painful. I was a little worried but our experience was super. Yes, when she does a special deep tissue massage she hits painful spots, but I think the treatment was very helpful. Sammi is Chinese and I have had a yoga intstructor in China who did some of the same moves and made me wince from time to time. I highly recommend Sammi for a great massage! read more

Sammi knows what she is doing,and very professional and respectful of your privacy. Very knowledgeable about muscles and human body. I was in a lot of pain, and walked out feeling alive again! Sammi's massages are amazing. She does a very thorough deep massage. She pays close attention to what you want and what your body needs. I had been dealing with stiff, knotted muscles in my back when I reached out "Sammi Therapeutic Massage" a while back. I'm so glad that I did. The spa room was very well appointed, clean and tranquil with a window view overlooking Long Island Sound... Heated massage table and ambient music... She was able to pinpoint the problem areas in my back and shoulders and get them to relax through gradual, progressively stronger massage techniques. I received real help with my back issues and would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a good therapeutic massage. She is a legitimate licensed and trained massage therapist, who is skilled and devoted to her craft. She has a strong grasp of eastern and western modalities and uses both in order to treat her clients. I'm a believer in the general benefits of massage therapy anyway, but if you need a strong therapeutic or sports massage, I would recommend her without reservation. read more

Before I came to Sammi today I was dealing with horrible lower back pain , and an insane amount of knots throughout my body. I was finally at my breaking point and was in dire need of a massage and FAST! After calling numerous spas and finding out they were all booked I came across Sami's business (it was a miracle I did ). Let me tell you , I have had MANY massages by lots of different masseuse all in search of finding that "one" and until today have settled and fell short of that ! I can honestly say Sammi is that "one " . She is professional, caring, educated and passionate about what she does and it shows in her work. Sammi is very talented and knowledgeable about her art. One of the best massages I've ever had. She used a combo of Eastern and Western techniques that gave me an unique experience unlike any other. Her office is very relaxing. I loved how she used warm towels to stretch you and a heated massage bed that was super comfortable. I would recommend 100%! I found Sammi online and she was the best Massage therapist I ever found, so glad I found her. Sammi is very personable and customer friendly. On my first appointment she asked what my issues were. Then she explained to me what the issues and problem might me, and then also what approach she was going to take. This worked well for me as I want to have a good idea of what the plan is for my massage. She made me comfortable and always thereafter the first appointment. First time I went to her with really bad cramps in my legs, lower back and hands after working with another therapist that wasn't helping me and was trying to get more money from me by not really giving the services they should have. After about 4 consecutive weekly massages I couldn't have felt better! She massages deep - and she checks in to find out if the depth of her massage is ok or not and she will adjust accordingly. Best part is she knows her muscles very well, she also educates you in the process to understand what she is doing. She also combines different modalities of massage therapy to make sure that you get the maximum benefit according to what pains one may have. I was so grateful that she used Acupressure, deep tissue massage and other types, including 'Chinese cupping' to ensure that all muscles are touched. Just let her know what level of depth of massage you are comfortable with. We go to her, my husband and I and have not regretted after coming from another massage therapist that wasn't providing the services paid for fully. She is great you will not regret it, trust me!! I was looking for a local establishment online to get a massage to ease the pain in my shoulder blades and back. I ran across Sammi's location which is conveniently located and gave it a shot. Boy what a pleasant surprise. I have been getting massages for years but Sammi's technique of hot rocks, moist towels, and stretching did the trick. I left there feeling fantastic.
