I was visiting family in Connecticut and had tweaked my back pretty badly. I booked with Sammi Therapeutic Massage hoping for some relief and was fully prepared to pay top dollar without expecting much beyond temporary comfort. What I got was completely different. This was not just a massage -- this was actual healing work. She took the time to understand where my pain was, explained what she was doing (because I asked), and truly got in there and worked through the problem. The pain I came in with? Gone. If I had more time in CT, I would've gone back again just to continue the work and honestly get better sleep. She clearly knows the body and her craft. It's a private, by-appointment setup with a single table, and every second of it was worth it. From the comfortable setup to how she incorporated hot stones and intuitively read exactly what my body needed -- it felt intentional and effective. I'm genuinely so glad I didn't end up at another "typical" therapeutic spot that just goes through the motions. I'm sure there are other good places out there, but I don't see myself trying them anytime soon -- I feel like I found my person. If you're looking for a massage that actually fixes your knots and pain (not just temporarily relaxes you), this is your spot. I'd honestly consider flying back once a month for this.

I had read a review from someone who thought the experience was traumatizing and painful. I was a little worried but our experience was super. Yes, when she does a special deep tissue massage she hits painful spots, but I think the treatment was very helpful. Sammi is Chinese and I have had a yoga intstructor in China who did some of the same moves and made me wince from time to time. I highly recommend Sammi for a great massage!

I spent $132.00 for it. I then called to schedule our couples massage and the owner/employee said "You can't use your Groupon for the weekend" and I kindly explained that this is the day of my anniversary. I then even offered to bring in the coupon and pay the remainer (full price) in cash. For a brief moment I thought she agreed to this but I was mistaken. She started throwing out dates in June ... and July .. for me to come in to use the coupon. I then said " I genuinely am just looking to schedule a massage. I don't want any trouble" because I could sense this was spinning and spiraling. She again stated the "coupon is for the weekdays only". I hung up and tried to cancel my Groupon order. I was able to cancel the order, but now I'm stuck with 'Groupon bucks' instead of getting a refund to my card. What an AWFUL 30 minutes. This was so unnecessary and I'm not going to use Groupon again. You know why? These business owners are resentful and angry at customers who buy them. If you don't want to provide the same level of service to a customer buying Groupon, then DONT CONTRACT with them. It's not fair to punish hard working and sincere people looking to save a few bucks.

I was reading some of the bad comments saying that they were touched "inappropriately" cause their ass cheeks were massaged. Come on, grow up???Those are your glutes muscles and a lot of back pain stems from your glutes and if you didn't want it I'm sure you could have told your massage therapist and they will be more than happy to massage you less. A lot of places charge more for hot stone or deep tissue, here they are all the same. Thank you for that. It's a cute little place with the parking lot in the back. I love how quiet and serene it is. I've been in places that do other services (waxes, nails) and it ends up being noisy while you're getting a massage - that's the opposite of relaxing. Katy did my massage and she did a great job. Asked all the questions up front and then allowed me to quietly enjoy the massage with a little music (yes, I've had massage therapists that keep talking. Again, that's not relaxing). Given how close this is to my house and how much I enjoyed it, I will definitely be back. Treat yourself and try them out too.

I generously gave Lisamarie 2 stars because she ultimately reimbursed us for the services she charged us for but did not provide....but this was after a lot of unnecessary, back and forth texts.
