Literally the worst food I have ever had. Ordered wings with sauce on them, so I assumed they would have been mixed or tossed like literally every other restaurant I've ever been to. Nope, sauce was added after a la explosive diarrhea style. The entire half of the takeout container was full of Sweet Baby Ray's thick brown sludge sauce and somehow multiple of my wings were borderline sauceless. How they accomplished this, I have no idea. After going out in 5 points, there are usually two places for one to get some late night food. Chicken on a stick at a food truck, or Sammi's. Every time I have gone out, Sammi's has been a staple for me if I need some food to keep the night going and fill up my stomach some more. Not the cleanest or best maintained place I have ever seen but if your go at night then you won't even be able to tell. I usually opt for one of their Gyro combos as they offer a couple different meats to go along with it. I have not had the chance to try much else on their menu but I'm sure most of it is decent. With all that being said, I would not tell someone to go here during the day as there are some other places nearby with better food. read more

Had the Honey Barbecue wings late at night around midnight. Although it is somewhat hard to find, we were able to pull up and grab our takeout order incredibly quick. The wings were the perfect combination of crunchy and savory. They drench the wings in sauce, which I don't mind because the honey bbq was to die for. Also got a side of crinkle French fries with my order and they were smacking too. Overall, I found a great nook in the wall and I am excited to indulge in some more cheap yet quality food. read more

The service was horrible, the owner in the kitchen told the Togo person that they were closed and only had chicken tenders left and I told the lady that was fine, that was actually what I wanted ! I've lived in five points for six years. Everytime I go to Sammi's Deli they NEVER wear gloves in the kitchen. I thought it would be different during a pandemic, so I ordered my food by phone, and when I arrived the chef was not wearing gloves nor was he wearing a mask. I saw him reaching right into the the condiments/lettuce etc. and placing them directly on the food with his bare hands. Maybe I'm old school, but I just don't think it's sanitary. I order from here on Uber eats sometimes and the food is always really good! This last time I ordered they forgot the wings I ordered, I called and both people I spoke to were so nice. They handled it very professionally and told me how to get refunded (it was through Uber eats which I use a lot so I know they handle the refund part). So long, Sammi's. It wasn't nice knowing you. This review is totally based on a delivery order (multiple ones actually but today's specifically) and the food I received. I called and placed an order for a chicken finger basket with fries, extra honey mustard and a coke. I had to repeat myself multiple times to make sure the address, credit card info, order, etc. was correct. An hour and 15 minutes later I called to find out what the status was of my order since I still had not received it. I was told that the delivery person should be walking in any second. 15 minutes after that the delivery person finally arrives and asks me for payment. I told him I paid with a credit card over the phone and he said he didn't have any indication of that on the receipt he had but he'd check when he got back. He then asked if I wanted to add a tip. When I declined (since I'd already discussed this with the person I talked to on the phone since I was paying with a credit card) he made a rude comment and just walked out. I called Sammi's Deli to confirm that my credit card information had been used and that the number was secure/destroyed. I also told the person on the phone what happened with the delivery driver and was told "Just ignore him." There are also additional charges for delivery ($1.50) and for using a credit card ($.99). I received the food I was supposed to receive though the honey mustard is watered down, the chicken fingers were over done, and I had chips mixed in with the fries I ordered. If you can't get your delivery service in order then don't offer delivery. read more

Can't give negative stars so one will have to do.... I ordered a gyro combo and received a plate of mess. The only thing in the actual gyro was few pieces of meat and some wilted brown lettuce; no tomatoes, no grilled onions, and no tzatziki sauce. The toddler hand full of salad had the same lettuce with willed looking toppings on it. I was charged almost $12 for that mess. I asked for a refund and they said it would take about 12hrs to happen....they never refunded my money, i checked my account and the payment cleared to them. The buns were uber soggy, the mayo seeped through one bun, the burger it self was burnt tasting leaving an aftertaste in our mouths. The food was very cold overall. The manager on night is very rude, so don't attempt to get any fresh food sent back out or a refund. Horrible! Took an hour and a half on a cheese steak, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. The boxes were melted together with huge holes in them, so the two boxes we got contained hot food at one point, but were completely cold when we got them. We didn't even get the mozzarella sticks. I Found Sammi's by sifting through the pile of menus that I was provided by my facility. Their menu seemed pretty diverse & really cheap, so why not? Besides, a lamb gyro sounded like it would hit the spot. I placed my order for the lamb gyro & was quoted a delivery time of about 15 minutes. Imagine my surprise when that time was completely correct. On time delivery? Color me shocked. I took my gyro back to my room & sat down to devour my feast. The gyro itself was pretty big, with a large piece of pita bread & a heap of meat. All of the veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.) were served on the side, so I got to build my own creation. Atop my fluffy & buttery pita bread, I stacked the meat & veggies, & dabbed a bit of the sauce on for good measure. All of the vegetables were fresh, but the sauce was a tad weak compared to other places I've tried. It just didn't have a lot of flavor. I enjoyed the spicy flavor of the lamb meat, though I think it was overcooked just a little. It wasn't completely dry, but if it had been, the sauce wouldn't have saved it since it was plain. I also got an order of carrots & celery with bleu cheese, but found the dressing to be thin & watery. The veggies were good, though. I certainly was not hungry once I plowed through my meal. Both the person on the phone taking my order & the delivery guy were friendly & smiley. Yes, I can tell when people smile over the phone. It's a gift. Shut up. Overall, this place boasts an accurate delivery time and a fairly decent meal for fairly cheap. Even after tipping the delivery guy, I was out all of $12 I think & had a mound of food to show for it. He told me that they couldn't deliver my food because of the weather. My credit card had already been billed. I'm a understanding person & yes it was raining but the weather wasn't that bad.
