We came across this adorable ice cream shop, and even though we were already so full, we couldn't resist getting one scoop to share. Oh and on top of this, the girls working there were incredibly sweet and provided great service! The ice cream was incredibly creamy, packed with blueberry flavor, and not overly sweet, which made it even better. If you're visiting Portland, it's definitely worth stopping by! They reminded me of the incredible shaved ice desserts I'd enjoyed in Hawaii and across Asia. The shop itself is charming, with fun signage and a welcoming atmosphere. Every ice cream combination sounded tempting, but I finally settled on the chocolate pretzel and the orange creamsicle. Both were outstanding, and it's easy to see why they've been voted one of Portland's best. The staff were thoughtful and attentive, and the owner was especially welcoming. He told us he was a former bartender, which makes sense--every syrup is made in-house, as is the ice cream. That extra care and craftsmanship really shine through in every bite.

The interior is spacious with a decent amount of seating, plus some more outside. The decor is relatively simple with fun murals on the walls that add a pop of color. I decided to get a cup which came with my choice of two flavors - they had a good selection and I went with chocolate peanut butter cookie and another flavor that escapes my mind. The ice cream was fine - nothing too outstanding if I'm being honest but also not bad. Service was good, and overall I thought Beal's was fine. Nothing outstanding IMO but also nothing bad. Timing worked out well and we were doing a staycation in Portland and knew we needed to add a stop here one last time. We each had one last phenomenal drink; my wife and Apricot 75 that had a great tart kick of apricot and lemon. While I enjoyed their Chai Fashioned which spelt like a chai but had that boozy bourbon warming you'd expect. Dessert wise everything sounded good as always but we settled on two. The Goat Cheesecake and Pineapple Cake. The cheesecake was the perfect sweetness without being cloying and the blueberry sorbet on top paired so well. The pineapple cake was moist and tasted so good we needed to scrap the plate clean.
