From what i've heard Brunswick is better so we decided to try this location. They don't have designated parking but street parkings are available. We parked on the street parking and walked over. It's located on nice area where its center to many restaurants and shops. Once we entered the building we looked at their menu. They have extensive flavors and also sorbet and low sugar options. They do let you try and i've tried a few. I ended up settling with hazelnut and peanut butter flavor. The gelato has nice texture and flavorful. Not overly sweet either. Service was great and the staff was very attentive. Overall it's a pretty good gelato place. I like the flavors and the texture. Service is excellent. Price is bit pricey but not too bad. I've been many times recently, and overall it is a great experience but there are a few things to be aware of. If you go when there is heavy traffic or an event at Bowdoin, you will be in a very long and slow line. Also, during the summer especially, when they keep opening the doors to the freezers and the door to the outside during these times, the gelato gets incredibly soft and melts really quickly, so you might want to opt for a cup instead of a cone. Other than a few flavors that are way too sweet for most palates, the gelato is incredible. The prices are reasonable for the portions and how filling it is. Also, they have a cool tipping system with poker chips. Parking can be tricky if you don't know downtown Brunswick, so be patient with that. Also, they have a really cool lounge in the back with lots of card and board games if you want to hang out. It is hard for me to avoid coming here when I go to Brunswick for dinner, and if the desserts at the restaurants don't have options that sound good, you always have this spot. Finally, most of the staff are really good at what they do. They can move through a line really quickly, even if it seems chaotic. You just need to hope that the people ordering in front of you know what they want. I've seen parties of 3-4 people take over ten minutes. I recommend the god of lightning coffee gelato. read more

Such a cool spot in a fun area of Brunswick! After getting dinner next door, we were about to head to the theater to see a show and decided to stop in here to get a pick-me-up so that we could stay awake. My favorite food in the world is hazelnut gelato (NOT nutella/chocolate hazelnut), so I was thrilled to see a hazelnut option! I ordered an affogato with hazelnut and it really hit the spot. Best Gelato ever and so many incredible choices! I live in California and for me, Maine has the best ice cream shops but I never thought it would have the best gelato shop too! One of the servers told me they have 200 different gelato recipes that they rotate! The choices were dizzying (in a good way) and I tried so many flavors. Not only are their flavors unique but their prices are so reasonable and the place is so clean (including the bathroom). What I really loved is all the different sizes they have so if you only want a little you can get just a little and pay for that amount. In California they won't let you order the kid size and if you want a smaller size you still have to pay the amount of the bigger size. These guys really cater to making the customer happy. Fantastic. This place is located on Maine St. (the "Main Street" of Brunswick), has three? small tables outside to people watch while enjoying your treat. I first stopped in just to see what it was about: flavors they had, if the gelato is made locally, etc. Staff was friendly, offered as many samples as I wanted although I only took one: toasted coconut. Delish! All gelato is made in-house; they have a kitchen in the back. They feature a new flavor every Friday and this Friday's was a Sicilian pistachio. My plan was to stroll Maine St. then stop back by. When I returned, I chose a "medium" combo of the daily flavor and a refreshingly tart lemon in a waffle cone. The Netflix and Chilled is a great combination of salted caramel, brownie, peanut butter cup and maybe magic. A little extra sweet but so fun and reminiscent of childhood. The gelato is amazing, but the service really made the experience memorable in the best way. It was my friend's birthday and we got her a little headband and pin that stated such. Was exploring downtown Brunswick on a warm-ish fall day - decided to pop in for some gelato and I'm so glad I did! I tried the blood orange flavor and it was fantastic!! Location is perfect - right in the heart of the main area downtown with all the cute shops and park area. Staff are inviting, helpful, and friendly. Vibe is cozy and chill (no pun intended lol) - lots of comfy seating and nice decor - definitely a great place to enjoy your icy treat while people watching on the main street. They have lots of great flavors - traditional and some interesting ones too - but the blood orange got my attention. I loved it! Great texture - soft with some orange bits in it. Had to try this place since I love the one in Portland so much. It's pretty much exactly the same. Interior design wise it is pretty much the same. Very whimsical. If you see this before the month of February is over I hugely recommend some of their monthly specials like the Italian Banana Pudding, Passionfruit Raspberry, or the German Chocolate Cake. The service is always friendly and helpful - you can bring kids here and trust they will love it. There is not a ton of seating but I love seeing that it is always busy even in the dead of winter - that's how you know they're doing something right. read more

(Tip well if you do) - among the 3 + 2 flavors we got [blueberry (something with granola), pumpkin (not spice with chunks of graham cracker crust), banana creme brulee, salted caramel, and mango], mango was the clear winner. It pains me to say that Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick, which is the flagship store has really gone down hill. There were only two people working on a hot summer day. There were a lot of customers there but the service was slow. They were not even offering samples which was always a big selling point to get their product out. They used to make a lot of different flavors and the sampling was helpful to taste before you buy. They had less than half of what they used to offer two years ago. I understand that Covid played a big role in the service industry but sometimes you need to stick with what made you a shining example pre pandemic. I did order the brownie batter and Sweet resurgam. These are my two personal favorites. The flavors were spot on, even though the gelato serving size was much less than it used to be. I will stamp my name to add to the 5-star rating for this place. Whole-heatedly recommend it. My main reason for the review was the service. Don't get me wrong, the gelato was plenty tasty and on-par with what I would expect from a solid gelato place, but what really made me happy what how incredibly attentive and personal the woman behind the counter was to me and my wife. I feel embarrassed that I don't recall her name, because she deserves a shoutout. As somebody who has worked in customer service for over 15 years, this girl really impressed me. She was running the place all by herself, but she had such a passion and personality that really took me by surprise. Normally when you come into a drop-in food service establishment, you expect a pretty blasé expression from the staff because hey, you're just serving gelato. But this young woman was just so excited and friendly. Not only did she make tons of recommendations for samples, but she asked engaging questions, and even went into deep detail about each gelato we were trying, giving us deeper insight into how they are made and/or sourced. It was truly delightful. And then, when she had multiple customers, she managed to help multiple people at the same time, without sacrificing the experience of anybody. She used very clear language to get permission from us before multitasking with somebody else, and it was just such an over-the-top amount of hospitality for a simple gelato joint. I know the kind of effort that takes, and I really wish I knew her name so I could give her the proper admonishment she deserves. My wife and I each got a medium scoop on waffle cones, and they were fantastic. I wish we weren't just on vacation, because we would keep coming back to sample more flavors if we lived in this area. read more
