Where to begin? I decided to get a protective style and visited this store to purchase the hair. I came in and advised the person that I needed two packages of virgin hair 18, 20, 22 in natural black. He suggested one brand of hair, I asked about others and he said that this brand was the best. I'm no expert, so ok. I check out and leave and notice in the car that he gave me a 16, 18, 20 and a 18, 20, 22. I called then went back into the store and he noted that the person will probably not use all of the hair, so I'll be ok, and because only one bundle is shorter. So, I'm on my way to the appointment, and notice that he gave me one natural black, the shorter set, and the longer set (which I need for the style) was the wrong color, a reddish brown. I called him and he said I could bring it back for a refund, but I would miss my (very expensive) appointment about 40 miles away. I got the install with the longer (red) hair and it looked horrible with my hair color and the red. I then had to dye my whole head, but the reddish bundles would not take the color, so now I'm going to have to take this out and have it redone with new hair after 1 week. Can't image a worse customer experience for a company that claims to specialize in this area. read more

The girls are normally really nice and respectful. The owner I assume is the owner guy is always rude. Never speaks acts like he doesn't care you're there or not very unprofessional. He's even spoke to the girls who work there rude that I've heard before. This place is tucked away in a strip mall next to a hair salon. Sam is the owner, and he knows wigs and extensions! I have gotten a few 3/4 wigs from there and I just ask him to help me pick something - he can eyeball the right color in a second, and he'll help you try on pieces. Prices are fair- from inexpensive for synthetic hair, to pricey for the human hair wigs. One star off because the hours aren't great , and occasionally he'll close the shop unexpectedly for a brief time during business hours. read more

Shop has a *decent* selection of hair for extensions, braiding, weaves, clip ons, and related hair care products - but I am wary of recommending it to people I like for their hair needs. Selection leaves a little to be desired (not as diverse as you would think) and the customer service is definitely lacking... I used to be a regular customer of Sam's but, like some reviewers, I have been put off by Sam's rudeness and aforementioned lack of helpfulness. Also, he has this "cash only" policy which he adheres to -- depending on the customer I think -- and if you say you do not have cash, then he points you to the ATM machine he has IN HIS STORE for you to get money. I've been coming to Sam's for a couple of years now and have been pretty happy, for the most part. However, I now have 3 reasons for giving a 1 star review. 1) Recently I came to get a grey wig for my grandmother, who had just gotten out of surgery. Sam pointed me in the direction of a very small selection of grey wigs and extensions and seemed genuinely happy to be assisting. A few minutes later, another lady came in to inquire about buying REMI hair, which is more expensive than the wig I would be purchasing for my grandma, and he turned away from me to immediately help her and ignored me while I continued to look for something. (left a bad taste in my mouth) 2) My next concern is the fact that he takes ATM cards whenever he wants to. If he is not in the mood to take your ATM card that day, then he won't. I came in one day to purchase some human hair for braiding, pulled out my ATM card to pay, and he said his ATM processor is not working at the moment. When I politely said that I would just stop at another beauty supply on the way home, he took my ATM card as payment immediately! (like really?!?) 3) Whenever I change my hair style, I call Sam to check pricing. He is on the pricey side, and he WILL NOT be my first stop if I can find what I'm looking for at a better price. I called this morning to inquire about the price of a brand of human hair that I like, and now all of a sudden he doesn't give prices over the phone. I truly believe Sam discounts products and treats customers better who spend the most money. (this could be a nice thing, but will cause other customers to not be loyal) I love patronizing small business owners more than larger retailers, but my experience here has been less than satisfactory. I do not get a negative vibe when shopping at PARIS WIGS in Sunnyvale. The gentleman who owns this shop (also named Sam) is very nice and gives you his undivided attention when assisting you, and he even recommends different products to suit your needs. I always purchase my hair from Sam because he sales the very best, but the last time I came here may have changed that forever. I came in one morning looking for a package of 24 inch u-tip remy hair and of course like always, Sam had what I needed. I went to pay......... The total was about $142 or so... I hand Sam $160 cash and he hands me back $18 in $2 dollar bills. I hold one up and what do you know, IT'S FAKE!! I could not believe he was trying to give me fake money..... I asked him for normal bills instead.... A 10, 5, and two 1's. He then says "Why? Why don't you want this money? You don't like american money??" Umm I have no problem with american money! After a stop by the store today, I'm sad to say I have to update my review, for the worse. I am happy to say I was able to find something for my needs at the store, but was unfortunately less than satisfied with the customer service. I felt the vibe in the store to be uninviting and, almost felt committed to make a purchase given the small size of the store, the fact Sam could watch my every move, and almost felt as thought any and all of my questions about hair, were "interrupting" his radio. I should add that no one in the store did anything directly to make me feel uncomfortable, but that these were just my feelings and observations. Had my wedding shower to go to. Stopped in for a new wig right when they opened at 10am. 10:30 rolled around and magically nobody was there. I understand its a small business but its still a business. Pretty ridiculous to let your customers wait because you wanted to sleep in... Hire more employees.... Crazy idea! Sam's Beauty is always the go to hair stop for me. It's conveniently located off Winchester in Campbell with lots of parking. I have been to Sam's several times for Hair. Last night I went there for extension clips and thread to make my own extensions and again was relieved by the help and assistance I got. I was the only one in the store, and even when I am not I am always helped. He helped me match the color of my hair, helped me pick the right color thread and clips, he even showed me how to do it by opening up a package of hair already done, which I ended up buying to guide me through my own process. I have never bought hair from anywhere else so I can't really compare quality but I am always pleased on how long it last, the shine, the real feel and look of the hair!! Prices are reasonable too... LOVE THIS PLACE. He is so helpful and really knows what he is talking about. I wear a weave and I'm really picky about hair. I have to be able to do everything to it (cut, dye, straighten, curl) AND I DONT deal with shedding. He showed me this hair and I'm in love. It's thick, fine, glossy, so soft, doesn't shed, doesn't tangle(im a dancer so this means a lot to me), and it acts like it's still attached to the head. I'm soooo happy because of him! The owner, Sam is incredibly friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. He spent a good amount of time giving me recommendations for clip-in extensions for myself as well as my friend for her upcoming wedding (even though she wasn't even there). This was also after I'd already purchased the product I'd come in for and he still spent the time - SUPER nice guy! Initially, Sam was outgoing and polite when I came through the door. I had a few questions and began asking him them. At this point, nobody was in the store with me. He appeared to get agitated quickly and I can see why some reviewers took that as being rude. As for myself, I began to get the feeling like he was going to yell at me or something. (geez, what the heck?) I never bombard him with questions, only a few. But when I asked for help with something, he just pointed but never got up to help me. When I told him I couldn't find it, he didn't say or do anything. However, I don't really see this as being rude, I got the feeling that he just doesn't understand how to communicate with women very well. If you know what you want at the store and you get it yourself then I think he can help you ring it up. He tried, sort of in the beginning. I was interested in possibly spending money in his store . He asked me if I was going to buy the item, and I said maybe but that I had to try it on first- he seemed to loose interest in helping me anymore. This was unfortunate because I would have probably bought it, if the place wasn't so cluttered with items I would have maybe found it. Or if he helped me (hello?) I might come back for the item because he did have some decent prices but the customer service was a bit less then average...disappointing to say the least...all these reviewers gave him such good ratings. Oh yeah, one more thing- Sam KEPT on insisting that certain items were "one size fits all" and this is absolutely NOT true. I think this is why he was agitated with me because I wasn't going to buy it without trying it on. This place was recommended by Segen. Segen told me to get real hair extensions cuz she told me she only does real hair. Went to Sam's and purchased 2 boxes (indi remi) of what she recommended. Turns out the extensions are fake hair, which Segen already installed. THEN she admits that the hair is not real human hair. Called Sam regarding this issue and he said he'd talk to Segen. Sam calls me back and tells me that Segen is STILL telling him those extensions are real hair. He's always been helpful, either when I'm there in person or if I call on the phone. Great quality hair extensions. My hair stylist recommended Sam's for hair extensions. My hair is already really long but I wanted more volume for my wedding day. I got the long real human hair extensions and it looked great, very natural. They only take debit and cash here. The hair extensions were about $150 - $200 for the long sets. read more

BAD BUSINESS: I went in to the shop yesterday because I get my hair extensions done next door with Segan, I spent $141 on my hair, walked next door and she told me I couldn't put anymore hair in because I have alopecia so I walked back to "exchange or get a refund" of my $141 since it had been about 15 minutes since I left and he said NO I can't refund you so now I"m stuck with hair I will never use and out $141. I was so happy to find a beauty supply store in Campbell that had a nice selection of Black Hair products and supplies. In addition I was thrilled to patron from a store that's black owned because most of the times these type of stores are not. Unfortunately, the customer service is the worst I've ever received (especially if you have the misfortune of visiting when the owner is present). Being a small store they don't greet or even smile at incoming customers, when you receive assistance it's rushed help and it feels like the staff doesn't want to be bothered. Most of the time staff is talking on their cell phone and/or with their friends. Although they have a nice variety of hair products, the last straw for me was purchasing hair that caused a severe allergic reaction to my daughters scalp. Something that had never happened before and have never happened again, since I don't buy hair from them anymore. I informed the owner and he just stared at me like I was a bother to him. I wish I could give 0 stars to express what an awful place this is to shop. I know shop at Nefertiti Beauty Supply which has 3 times as many Black hair products, a million times better customer service and it's a Black owned store. read more
