Good alternative to Costco when the ones up North (Cedar Park/LH) get insanely busy which is almost every day. We've come to Sam's A few times on various weekends (past time was Sunday morning) and the crowds have been quiet which is really nice. Plenty of parking, a great selection of items and even a few things that Costco doesn't typically carry, and I feel like their pricing is a little less expensive than what I would spend at Costco. Still love Costco, but Sam's is a great alternative if you don't want to deal with the crowds! Favorite items are the pre cooked grilled chicken, Alani energy drinks (mini packs), clothes selection, snacks, and more. read more

This was actually my first time shopping at Sam's Club, and it turned out to be a great experience. I was really impressed with their fresh products--especially the pineapple . It was surprisingly sweet, fresh, and very reasonably priced. My main reason for coming was to shop for work clothes and shoes, and I was happy to find solid options that fit my needs, so I ended up buying them right away. Even though I didn't spend too much time or money, I noticed they carry quite a few items that are different from what I usually see at Costco. That alone makes Sam's Club worth visiting. Honestly, I can see the value in having both memberships since each store shines in different areas. Now I know exactly where to go for certain items and, of course, bulk snacks. This is my favorite Sam's Club. They are neat, clean and organized. It never feels overly crowded wither. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of. I like to use scan and pay, so I never have to wait in a line. I also often grab the pizza and drink combo. Can't beat that price. read more

For starters I'm not a regular shopper to Sam's Club, I go sometimes to get a pizza or to get like Toilet paper or towels for the house considering the quantity you can get at Sam's Club. I don't know how to navigate in Sam's Club because I only go for the same things everything time I go, so I'm in and out. The very few times I've asked for assistance or had conversations with anyone about needing help they I've always ran into issues. 3 days ago I went to Sam's Club about renewing my membership and I went to customer service ( member services ) to get assistance and the female at the counter was very rude and said to my face I asked stupid a** questions. She Was very unprofessional, I was not able to get her name, but the supervisor helped get what I needed done. Next day I tried to go to a manager about situation over the phone, and they tell me they are on vacation and that's the only manager in the store. They didn't want to give me a name of who I could talk to which is understandable, but I was just trying to know who I needed to talk to whenever I tried calling again. This is one of my favorite Sam's Club locations! It's always clean, well-stocked, and easy to navigate. The staff is friendly and efficient, and checkout is usually quick--especially with the Scan & Go app. I can almost always find what I need (and a few extras I didn't plan on). Parking is easy, and I appreciate how organized everything is compared to other warehouse stores. Solid experience every time! read more

Sam's Club is far enough away from our house, for a non-driving family, that it's not feasible to keep the membership. Since they changed the policy to not include free shipping for most items, it makes it difficult for those with disabilities to shop, and all I've gotten is and "I'm sorry, we can refund the remainder of your membership" from Sam's Club's customer service, because they don't care. It was nice while it lasted, but I can't see paying for a plus membership when I don't really get anything out of it. read more

For the things that I really need in bulk I will absolutely go to Sam's Club. Wife and I always get fruit here especially since we are avid eaters of bananas and apples, and the prices aren't too bad. Sometimes we will just come and browse because being in huge supermarkets like these is great to spend time in and find things we probably didn't know we needed. Membership prices can be high at times, but if you try to get a yearly one around July 4th it seems to be the lowest of the year. Only reason it's not a 5 star is because, yes like other people have pointed out, the food court isn't too great. We bought a churro once and the dough was undercooked and not seasoned. The pretzel was just ok and not a lot of flavor, but it was cooked. read more

I just tried returning a pair of Shokz Bluetooth headphones that I bought last year because they will not pair with phone and they would not exchange them because it has been more than 90 days. I never used them and put them away until I found them again today so they are unused. I was under the impression that Sam's would take back electronic and other devices if even more than 90 days old. I would suggest to not buy electronics from Sam's or be very diligent regarding the date of purchase because they won't take them back. If I had known that I would have gone to a regular electronic or other big box store where it's more obvious regarding the return policy. The rumors about Sams taking back merchandise is not true. read more

I like this location. The key is to do a drive up pick up or come when it's not that busy, like early in the mornings or on a weekday. Sam's isn't as large to explore as Costco, but the selection of goods is really good. People get crazy when they come to these stores. They forget how to walk, how to park, how to get gas, so that is frustrating. They probably do need a bigger store and a bigger parking lot because of the growing population. Nevertheless, you can still get everything you need. Upgrading your membership is definitely worth it for things like free shipping and curbside. It's a must when you have limited time or little kids to tend to and don't want to spend all day in a store with 20 million bathroom breaks. read more

Just wanted to give Taylor in the pick up area and Naira______ (spelling)in customer service 5 stars for excellent customer service. I had problems with a return which was not Naira~~~~'s fault and she stayed calm and helpful through what I considered an ordeal. Taylor was the only employee working in the 101' temperature delivering groceries and despite that was cheerful, conversive and helpful. He realized there was an item missing and went back in and hunted it down. Above and beyond. I am going to write a separate review on my return experience. read more

The tire center sucks. People are never at the counter...ring the bell and they might come in 4-5 minutes though usually with a scowl, pissed you're disturbing their nap. They never have a full saff. Not my problem. Serve the customer fast and with a smile. They say wait is 45-60 minutes. Ok, fine. When an hour passes, best come with an update on the progress. But alas, 40 more minutes pass. They put on a repaired tire (2nd time this tire went bad) and didn't rotate, reset the tire pressure gage, nor put on the black tire cap on the valve. You guys suck at doing your job. I would have stayed and have them finish their half-assed job had my Saturday not been jacked up waiting for them to do the work...with an appointment I might add. The line of pissed off customers was too long, so I left. No more tires from Sam's, at least not this location. read more

Austin's Sam's Club are different from the many other Sam's clubs I've been to across the country. Typically, Costco/Restaurant Depot are my number one stop but there are things not available so I've kept my Sam's membership as backup. I used to think produce and products were inferior in quality and higher in price. I also found that most Sam's clubs were usually dirty and the employees rude (Longview, TX) but I was pleasantly surprised when I moved to Austin. Both stores are clean and employees are actually helpful and friendly. Prices for lemons, heavy cream and butter are better than Costco. I don't hate going to Sam's like I used to. Whatever there doing in Austin, they need to roll it out nationally. Seriously, it's much better than other cities. read more

I have no issues when I go inside, but they are significantly late every time I have a pickup order. On today's episode: 1.5 hours after my pickup window I called and was told they were still shopping the order. 30 minutes before store closes, and still no word. I went ahead and came to the store, got the attention of one of the curbside workers, and he informed me that my order is the last one on their list for today....and I'm the only car in the pickup area I guess they were planning on giving me the smallest amount of time to pick up. read more

After a rough year and some rocky experiences with staff, lately things seem to be trending up. Last spring most of the staff on the floor appeared to be miserable. They even accused us of scanning items wrong when they weren't accepted by the system. The pharmacy, optical, and snack bar are staffed with extremely friendly and helpful staff. We have gotten to know the pharmacy staff since we get all our prescriptions there and they are fantastic. We moved our eye services from elsewhere to here and so far they are wonderful. Each time we want delicious pizza, we encounter the friendly staff at the snack bar. If you haven't tried the pizza, you are missing out! Since the fall, the floor staff have begun to catch up which is really encouraging since they clearly needed help. read more

The managers that I have run into are not nice here but all of the other employees are. The store itself is really well organized. It is clean and when you walk in you can tell they take pride in that. I have visited a lot of Sam's before that don't feel like a membership business. But this one really gives you that feel. Everything is in order and the employees are very helpful. The great thing about Sam's is that they label their aisles so you aren't wandering around like you usually are at Costco. They have plenty of parking. They could use a few more handicap spots but otherwise no complaints. read more

Employees in the tire center are always difficult. It seems to be that way with most tire businesses. Failure to air up tire, calling it a hazard. If I had money to replace it, I would ask you to replace it. Failure to put valve stem caps on. Failure to secure center hub on rim. It's gone now. If your membership has expired, guess what? They aren't going to return or warranty anything, including tires. read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. I went to order some food and stuff for my family. Then when I went to pay, it asks you would you like cash back? So I hit yes and asked for cash back. The man behind the counter was like you should've asked me, you should've asked me three or four times. Then he said now I have to call the managers because I don't have enough in my drawer. I heard him the first time. It shouldn't prompt you if you want cash back if they don't want to give you cash back. Just overall real bad experience. Then I guess he had a coworker/ friend who was vouching for him to the managers. Mind you that same coworker left to go get the managers, so wasn't there for the full-time. First off if they're employees and their friends naturally they're going to stick up for each other. This is by far my favorite Sam's Club, it's new and super easy to get in and out of. There is always plenty of parking. The store is always so clean and well lit. The employees are friendly. There is a great selection of practically everything you need. Everything is always in stock. My family strangely has Sam's and Costco membership, there are pros and cons to each store. I like Sam's Club for the ability to get in and out of in a quick amount of time. Sam's Club has more bulk baking supplies, like powdered sugar. There are more snacks and candy options as Sam's as well. I enjoy the fact that there is self check out at Sam's allows for a quick check out. I rarely ever have to wait in line to check out here. read more

We are members of Sam's club for one reason only- to get deep discounts on their Pampers diapers. We are ALSO members of Costco, whom we would never leave. I don't like shopping at Sam's because they are very skilled at placing junk food very prominently in stores and I tend to walk out with more than I wanted walking in. I absolutely LOVE Sam's! I dont know what all the bad reviews are about.. of course they have to monitor what you take out of the store due to it being mostly bulk items without bags. I don't mind considering it takes seconds to get out the door.
