I have to preface this by saying that, in general, I love H-E-B. It is by my far my favorite grocery store in the whole country after having lived in New Jersey and North Carolina. However, this is the worst H-E-B I have shopped at, and by far, my least favorite location. Maybe it's just the location, and the lack of space, but every time I go to this store, it feels like the day before Thanksgiving. There's hardly ever a time when the parking lot is not jampacked. As far as the store itself, it is just way too small and with narrow aisles, which is generally not the norm at most H-E-B's. Even though this location is the one closest to where I live, I have decided that I will never ever shop at this location again, no matter what. It is just way too compact and way too crowded. Every time I try to push my cart forward, someone crosses in front of me and I have to stop ... and then the person behind me tries to run me over with their cart. I end up having a miserable experience every single time.... ...and don't even get me started on the cashier/checkout situation. If you have more than 10 items, you're forced to go to a checkout lane with a cashier. Very often, there's only one or two cashiers available, which means waiting in line for an extended period of time. Thus, I have decided that I will shop at the locations in Cedar Park or on University Boulevard (RR) from now on. Even though it will be somewhat of an inconvenience to drive to those locations, I know that the superior shopping experience will make it worth it. I really want to give this location just one star, but I can't - I mean, it's still HEB. read more

You can find almost anything here! Groceries, utensils, beauty items, you name it. This HEB is huge so it does take a while to track down things you may be looking for but usually there's a staff member around who can help. The parking lot if pretty big too and there's a HEB gas station here as well. read more

My favorite HEB. This isn't the biggest HEB but it is my preferred location. They have a gas station and car wash. This HEB is always clean and they are well organized. One of the things that I do wish would improve is the big carts that they push around collecting items for Mobile orders. It feels like they have priority and are often inconsiderate of the inside shoppers. read more

I generally like HEB, but sometimes... this particular store is laid out in a way that isn't intuitive. Their selection of some items was less than expected, specifically soda options and sunscreen. I've had repeated issues with expired products from this store. On one visit, I purchased candy that was six months past its expiration date. Most recently, I purchased milk for my toddler that was ONE month expired. When I reported this issue, the only response I received was an automated email and a $3 credit, with no acknowledgment or accountability. Selling expired food, especially dairy products, is a serious health concern. Be sure to check the dates on products carefully before purchasing. read more

So we went shopping at HEB on Greenlawn & Louis Henna for our weekly groceries. We were over half way through the store when they said they were closing the store because all of the registers were down. We were just leaving our basket where we were when and started to walk out of the store. When we got to the front of the store they were just letting people walk out with what was already in their baskets at no charge. We were just going to go to Randal's and start over. This place was huge! Mom wanted some microwaveable popcorn, and this is the place we shopped. There were several shelters extending out into the parking lot. Maybe walkways shielding customers from inclement weather? Who knows?! Once we walked inside, I thought this particular location was very organized, well-maintained, and clean. There were a ton of merchandise to offer. If you can't find what you need at this store, you didn't look hard enough. Upon checking out, a young lady grabbed our attention and brought us over to the self-checkout. It was in-and-out in less than ten minutes. What a deal! This has been my home HEB since 2008. Over the last 16 years, I have shopped here close to 2,000 times. I'm a little shocked to see the low reviews for HEB. Perhaps familiarity breeds contempt and maybe folks in an HEB town don't know just how horrible most competing groceries really are? I'll take HEB pricing over the punitive, extortionate membership card pricing schemes at other stores. House brand stuff at HEB is simply better and more interesting than any other grocery chain i've seen, especially the Mi Tienda Mexican cuisine products. This location on 620 is clean, well-stocked, and staffed with helpful employees, many of them with years and years of tenure. There's a reason why HEB openings are massively-celebrated events in places like Dallas, where the terrible "old-guard" chains like Tom Thumb have held sway. HEB is just built different, and I'm lucky to live near one. read more

They treat you like crap at checkout. Lanes with no baggers. $600+ of groceries in my cart. Asked for a sacker and got nothing but attitude. Manager was even worse. This location has been my favorite for over seven years. The one thing that angers me about this place is that they offer Scan-and-Go, but their wifi is so bad that it only works some of the time. I've complained about it for a long time, and I'm definitely not the only one. Every employee I've complained to has said they hear about it all the time. Today, I was told that management doesn't care as long as it works good enough for own use. As an older shopper, I like Scan-and-Go so I don't have to stand in line so long. It frustrates me that they know about it and don't care. I've been told over and over that they are working on. Maybe they should use the same IT system that Sam's Club does - works all the time! The birthday cake HEB Bakery made for me is a completely different cake than the one I wanted. Like it's not just a little bit different, not a little mistake, it's a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CAKE. I could have been fine with a small mistake but it's a completely different shape when the shape was the whole point (they did a circle instead of a heart), the writing is in a completely different color and font, the words aren't in the right order, they left out the little hearts I wanted all over the cake, and they added giant ugly Pepto-Bismal pink frosting roses with ugly green frosting leaves, which I didn't ask for or want, and they added frosting piping all around the edge, which I also didn't ask for or want. The whole point was a simple little minimalistic heart shaped cake. This is ugly. And the worst part is I was told I couldn't return it even though they made it completely wrong. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service I received from Taylor who is the manager of the curbside department. She lacked empathy and professionalism during our conversation including interrupting me. Active listening can go a very long way in customer service. Ms. Taylor instead brushed me off with what sounded like scripted message and failed to address my concerns specifically. She also hung up on me. I am sure she will disagree that she did but if she had been actively listening to me then she may have handled the conversation much better. I was very respectful when speaking with her but she did not return the same courtesy. I asked to speak with her manager but she indicated Jordan Jones was going to be unavailable until the end of June. I called and spoke with another associate who said Mr. Jones should be back in the store by Monday 5/30/23. I love H‑E‑B. There are shortage of variety of food everywhere so please keep that in mind when shopping at the markets. Everyone is doing the best they can with added frustrations from consumers. That being said, I mainly go to asian markets but I do make it a weekly routine now to any HEB nearby. HEB has the best prices on meats for me and more of a selection of cuts for my small family. The meat department reps are so nice and will help cut meat for me if I don't see it out but only if they have it in the back. If I want to buy bulk meats, I will go to Costco. The fruit selection is plentiful but the quality isn't as good as other brand markets, so I buy elsewhere. I do like Texan brand as I support local and they have so much of local ingredients here like honey, bread, and eggs. The ice cream! I have been working my way through the personal ice cream flavors (HEB brand) and they are so delicious. Overall, this is my go to store for local brands and quick ingredients that I need. The staff is nice/helpful and I don't have any complaints regarding them. 4 stars. read more

The store is always stocked. Except when well you know...rain, ice, tornado warning, the wind switch direction. Haha. Panic shopping. But I really like the fact that it's not an H-E-B Plus. It has everything I need without being overwhelmed. What I am disappointed with is the fact the some of H-E-B brand products have went up in price. Speculation is due to the new H-E-B debit card which I love. The cash back is somewhat worth it but not really. The easy way to add money on the card from your bank account and the money is there immediately. I've heard others had issues setting it up. But I had no issues at all. I wish I could get cash back on total purchases but it's limited to H-E-B. That's ok because in many instances I've learned H-E-B brand equivalent or better. The cafe ole coffee is so much better than Starbucks...especially that Texas pecan. Make you want to slap ya.....lol. Only 4 stars because I want cash back on entire purchases and I wish I could tip. I know the employees get paid fairly but I wish it was an option for me to tip them. read more

It's with a heavy heart that I am writing this review. We've gone to this HEB for years, but recently, the inventory has been lacking, and the produce has been bad. I find myself keeping a shopping list for the items that I need to purchase, after I leave the grocery store. The people who work there are really nice, hardworking people. I just don't understand why they can't keep inventory consistent, and stocked. And why my produce is bad within 24 hours after leaving the store. It's amazing how this HEB continues to disappoint me. Walked up to the pharmacy counter, they weren't busy whatsoever as I could overhear their casual conversation. They stood in a group talking, in front of me, not noticing me for five minutes at least. A worker attended to me and told me to go to another counter so I was like okay, no problem, and I was super chill about it. Went to the other counter + stood there for even longer. Thing is, the pharmacy worker was sitting at a desk not even a foot away from the window, chatting nonchalantly with a coworker. When she attended to me, I feel like I personally offended her. Maybe it was my shirt covered in rainbows. No idea. The woman snapped at me when I told her I didn't have an appointment for the Covid vaccine. After telling me that they didn't have any other vaccine aside from Johnson Johnson, she tugged the clipboard out of my hands + spun around, huffing as she walked away. I swear, these workers here hate me before they even talk to me. I only keep coming here because my boyfriend works here and I surprise him with food and coffee occasionly. read more

I love this H.E.B.! I wish I could take it back home to Los Angeles with me, but alas I am stuck with Vons and Ralph's. They are good stores, but I've yet to find one that compares to this H.E.B. This store has everything! They have a gas station. They have a cooking station with live cooking demonstrations and free samples. They have a fantastic wine and liquor selection complete with a wine steward. There's a sushi bar for your freshly prepared sushi needs. There's a bank, a clinic, a cleaners...wait, is this a grocery store or a mini-city? You can pay your bills here, buy your groceries, pick up some gas, find new patio furniture and still have money to spend because their prices are low, low, low! You can even bring your saved change here to convert to dollar dollar bills thanks to the Coinstar machine. I love their grocery selection - they carry a wide variety of brands including their own healthy, organic store brand. They also carry a number of specialty brand items which is great if snazzy packaging and healthy buzzwords make your eyes dance. The store is also gigantic - it would have to be to contain all of it's glory. It's bright, airy, modern, clean, the aisles are wide and well-labeled, it's well organized and well-stocked. I need to do a much longer review but they deserve one now. Shopping Monday night before Thanksgiving was pretty calm. For once the store had plenty of checkout lanes open; lots of friendly baggers-- and as I left they rang a bell--a bit confused on that! They have a board you can see as you leave that lists goals for everyone. One suggestion: make it clear that those goals for the days leading up to a major holiday are goals for EVERY EXPERIENCE. I live in the neighborhood right next to this HEB. We do our weekly grocery shopping very early on Saturday morning I am so tired of going in and we can't walk down half of the aisles because of all stockers and boxes. Why can't they stock overnight? Also they have have that huge floor cleaning machine going-gives me a headache. Lately I can't find grocery items I want like whole wheat hot dogs buns-nothing exotic. This particular location always seems to be out of something. That, or JIF peanut butter was on allocation for months. Not the best H-E-B, but their wine and beer selection totally gets my vote. Multiple aisles of selection!! Their speciality beer options rival that of World Market's. There are three aisles of wine separated by region and seven times out of ten, they will have a wine or beer specialist offering tastings. I had assumed all HEB's offered such extensive options until I discovered the one lonely aisle of domestic beer at the Georgetown location .....queue the violins. This store has gotten worse and worse over the last few years. About they stopped carrying Austin's Own Chipotle sauce so I asked the store manager if he could order. He cheerfully told me yes. He never ordered it (so I ordered direct from the manufacturer.) Their produce is so-so usually, but today (5:30pm on a Friday) they were out of leaf lettuce, broccoli crowns, there were 5 seedless watermelons that were picked way too soon and only three seeded watermelons. They were out of a ton of other things as well. The cheese section was virtually empty. If that weren't enough they got new baskets. Once I went through produce section there was little room for the rest of my shopping. I would have put the watermelon I DID get on the bottom, but the rack slopes forward and the melon kept rolling onto the floor. Their brand new beer "cooler" is slightly above room temperature. I'll drive further to go to a different store from now on. The person in the seafood section could not have been more disinterested in getting the items I requested as if I was interrupting her. I wish I had other choices to shop for groceries, but heb is basically a monopoly. read more

The store is generally very clean and I love that they have the smaller baskets, as well as full sized depending on your needs. The guys in the Pharmacy are on point and I've never had to wait more than a minute or two to be helped, even of they have a line. My favorite go to is their prepped meals. Makes things easy for us who aren't good in the kitchen. read more

Alright HEB. No one ever appreciates a good grocery until they're stuck with less. Such was the case with me this summer. I spent all summer bouncing from Kroger to Walmart Neighborhood Market (UGH!) in Dallas. I truly missed your cheaper prices and better product selection. I like that you have improved your customer service and opened up those self check-out counters. I also like that you have big brother watching so when I ring up my beer they automatically ok it from their podium. You've made it super easy for me to check out with self-service by putting the product codes on the produce. Thank you HEB! This HEB is in the middle of freaking NOWHERE. I don't know what kind of problem Round Rock has with making HEBs easily accessible, but I drove around looking for an hour! The map on my iPhone helped a little bit, but who would've thought that the only HEB within a decent range of where I'm staying would be two or three MILES on the opposite side of the interstate?! Moving on... I do, however, consider this a "good" HEB. I don't think I've ever seen an HEB with an actual garden department, not to mention a car wash AND a gas station. Wine and beer selection was pretty impressive, navigation was a bit tedious, but just because I'm not used to the layout. The parking lot is spacious, though a little confusing and segregated... not a big deal, really. Now that I know where it is, I'd consider another visit... but I don't plan on being in Round Rock forever. read more

We were just passing by on 620... Great selection of wines. More than your average HEB. We were astounded to find Hahn Pinot and even "The Culprit" at better than Spec's prices. After that it's a pretty good store with more grocery options than usual. Cheese selection and breads were great too. So good we almost got a room on the way home. I avoid grocery shopping like the plague but sometimes it's unavoidable. I've been here twice. They seem to everything you could ever want and more. Makes running in for one or two things a bit tedious but at least you know they'll have it! Just a tip if you're an impulse buyer... bring a list and stick to it. H.E.B. is really big and has lots and lots and lots of stuff, lots of stuff that's on "sale". Just remember what you came in for and consider if you really *need* the item you want to purchase. I can totally see going in for a few items and leaving with a $150.00 cart full of stuff. I like it a lot better then Wal-Fart though... talk about walking into hell! read more
