This review is for the deli/food court area only. Sam's....what has happened? The pizza used to be amazing....now it's anything but. It was barely edible. Only the toppings were eaten. The crust was too hard to try to eat. There was one guy making food and taking orders. A young lady was complaining about an abundant amount of water in the front near the register. Another worker came and mopped it up. I'm pretty sure had the health department came on this visit, they would've been shut down. This review is a culmination of the last few times I've been in and ordered the pizza. It has been poorly made, and inedible. Such a disappointment! read more

I love the fact that Sam's have the scan and go on their app. I was on my lunch with limited time and was about to grab, pay on my phone and leave. Sometimes the scan and go items are cheaper and I love a deal. I got some gas and unlike some other gas stations they keep paper in the pumps for receipts. I love it!!! read more

I waited for nearly an hour and a half for four minutes of help. I spoke with at least 4 other associates in the store during this period, who tried to help but could not due to store policy about accessing items on the higher shelves. The forklift man was speaking badly of me and his co-workers, unaware that I was the customer he was sh*t talking. Terrible service. An hour and a half wait for four minutes of assistance is truly egregious. Corporate customer service was also appalling in her lack of care, concern, or service. read more

Sams in Trussville is the worst Sams Club ever. I never had these issues in Hoover. I have been waiting on an order for 45 mins. This is my go to store when I need to buy in bulk, or want a slice of there delicious pizza or a hotdog combo. Hot dog combo ( hotdog and drink) is &1.50. The pizza combo (1 slice of pizza and a drink ) is $2.50. You can choose from cheese, pepperoni, meat, and supreme. My go to are the meat and supreme. Both are good and the slices are huge! The hotdog is a Nathan's hotdog. They have relish and onions to put on the hotdog as well as ketchup and mustard of course. It seems like the prices have increased significantly since our last shopping adventure at Sam's. I love that this store is clean, well lit, stocked appropriately and has plenty of parking. We always start our shopping with a $1.50 hot dog or pizza combo (best not to shop when you're hungry ). I love that we can we get a cheap and delicious snacky snack beforehand. read more

Their produce is very bad. We have thrown away a lot of their fruit. Their frozen Normandy vegetables have the carrot stalk end inside. I don't think they care much about the quality of their food. I can see spoiled fruits and vegetables all the time in this store. I have never in 30 years a member seen a worse store. read more

Sam's club has lots of items that you find hard to get and they have good prices. I picked up a bonsai tree for myself and my daughter saw it. So I had return to het her one. These kind of items are the reason that I go there. Plus I pick up mahi mahi, and other hard to find meats. read more

Sam's club is crowded and appears ready for the holiday season. Well, the store is packed with product and people. However, some of these workers are not ready for the holiday cheer. They are definitely not on the same page with the rest of us! They have decked the place out with the new floor layout, everything looks new, but these workers attitudes are still the same, note the stars. I was waiting to receive a ham sample, that was already prepared, the worker stepped away continued to shout back to me, "Ma'am your not supposed to get that", I declared sorry, I'll put it back, As MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS already helped themselves to the "ham sample". I don't know what was the problem, but um, this is not the usual behavior in Sam's. Then, there's the bathroom, just like the customer washing her hands said standing next to me, "Oh wow, Sam's is going down. CORRECT! Fix this! It's an easy fix, because you don't want little issues to ruin the whole store efforts. I'm not! Thanks to the other ladies and 2 gentlemen, that were offering samples like we are used too in this club with a smile, charm and class. Thank You. We have been coming to this location for the last several years. The store is always clean, the isles are large enough for 2 carts, usually not a lot of clutter in the way and for the most part the staff are very friendly, with the occasional staffer seeming to have had a bad day. I always want to go by the snack bar, but it's always crowded and pretty slow to clear, and my wife won't wait that long. The gas is always discounted and the pumps not too crowded. read more

I had to make sure I completed this review. At this moment I have literally been on hold (transferred three times) for almost 40 minutes! What am I trying to do you ask? Order pizza that's all I want to do is simply order pizza. I called and was initially placed a quick hold after she answered saying her name and I believe Sam's Club (Not really sure because she basically didn't give me a chance to say anything). OAN: a guy picked up twice following her. He asked me the second time had the cafe not picked up yet I said no he said let me page them over the intercom. That was almost 20 minutes ago. I am still on hold 42 minutes now. Had I not agreed to place the order for an event on tomorrow I would hang up but I'm curious to know how this plays out. If they will recognize my wait time or even return to the phone. Smh 43:53 to be exact now. Yikes! A few moments later:on hold for an hour and 13 mins now Update was on hold for an hour and 20 mins BUT Store Manager Ms. Leslie answered and provided a better ending experience. Thank you! Omg this is exactly why I don't go to Sams often. They don't have there prices up in the store. Every item should have a price, I shouldn't have to whip out my phone and scan an item just to know the price. Sams doesn't cut me a check. So that tells me someone isn't doing there job correctly. Let's talk about how when you walk thru the store you HEAR employees being loud before you see them!!! Can we say unprofessional. Don't you dare think an employee is going to go out there way to HELP you or better yet do there job. Let's talk about when it's time to check out. All self service registers OPEN, but only 1 check out open. Umm once again I don't work for Sams nor do they provide me with a discount to check myself out. Why are you employing people to stand around and NOT work?? If you provide a discount for self check out then that's when I'll check out myself. I am standing in a long line staring at employees standing around while one girl is checking others out. Finally after a few minutes they opened another register. Wow customer service at its finest smh!!! The cashier they brought to check us out was pleasant but it still doesn't change the fact that more registers should be open. That why people take the drive to Costco.. Update: when I get home I noticed they double charged me for an item. So what was the point of the person at the door holding up the line? We recently got membership to Sam's through Groupon. When we went to get our membership cards, we waited in line for almost 30 minutes and when we were called, the card machine broke and we were issued temporary cards. On Subsequent visits the card machine was still broken. I'm hoping my paper card doesn't tear up before they get the machine fixed!! Other than that, customer service is good. Would be zero stars if I could pick it!!! Stopped by Sam's in Trussville with my wife for a late lunch. There was no line at the online pick up. Ordered on the app for what I believed would be faster service. After we were finally acknowledged by an employee, she started gathering our order. So slow. She placed all of our order on the counter minus our pepperoni pizza slice and our drink cups, never said a word and walked away. After seeing she was not returning any time soon, we flagged her down to ask about our pizza. She informed us that she had no idea how long it would be on our pizza and said we should just get a cheese slice instead. By this time, my icee was half melted, so we agreed and she served it up and quickly disappeared again. We flagged her down again to ask for our drink cups which she deposited on the counter with attitude. I'm not sure why her attitude because I made sure to keep mine in check although I felt like slamming cups too. The cups were pretty much useless anyway because the drink machines were out of syrup for 90% of the drink flavors and ice was almost nonexistent. I expect so much more from Sam's considering I pay to be a member here. read more

Apparently, they stop checking membership card at the door which is good because it always bug me to pull the card out every time. I try to come as early as possible because it just be too crowded with customers and knowing me, I like to have my distance from strangers. The pharmacy is still the same with always calling in for my prescriptions only to come back because they didn't have one prescription in stock. Some employees that's offering you food samples be acting like they own the stuff just because you want a second or third sample. I don't know why they're acting so stingy since it's not their products to begin with. I would recommend if you're ever in Sam's Club to purchase a slice of pizza in the food court since it's never frozen and the slices are huge, but I doubt you wouldn't share it with anyone since it that good. read more

It seems that Sams is always packed with people, which makes the trip a little less enjoyable. It is summer and I think that's part of the reason why it stays busy. I loved going when school was in session and there was hardly anyone in there and I could peacefully walk through and just look at everything. Even though its super busy, i do enjoy the deals I get there. You can't beat the value sized bags of chips, snacks, or candy. We also love buying gatorade, water, and beer here. It's a better deal than the grocery store and super convenient if you use curbside pickup so you dont even have to lift them. We typically use scan and go if we go in the store and its so convenent. The only issue is sometimes the location won't work correctly and it doesn't realize you're in the store, so you have to connect to their wifi for it to work whcih I'm not a fan of. But that doesn't happen every time. read more

I have been a member here from 2000, and I love this place. I get a lot of things here including my tires, I always find them the best price for tires , and they are fast service. You can go anytime of the day and they are sampling different food before you Buy it. I find that very nice and very helpful, because some frozen food is t worth the buy, the bakery here is also pretty good, and you get a huge cake for a great price. Just make sure when you order you have them to repeat your order back To you. I learned that the hard way. They from time to time run a special on a membership So if you haven't joined just call and ask them. On the bad side , the waiting in the line for the pharmacy is a always thing. This Sam's Club location is pretty clean. Could use more staff as there was a bit of a wait in the lines. Biggest issue was taking awhile to get the membership cards made - the card machine was broken every time we came in. But overall, the store is good for bulk buying/saving, and has some great meals (whole chickens) to take home! read more

You know the deal by now. Buy in bulk and save money. We love Sams and shop there all the time. We get everything from Sams. Tires, wine, furniture, appliances, food, clothes, you name it! If our kids are bored sometimes we just go to Sams to kill time even. The best find at any Sams by the way is the "Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Aged in Bourbon Barrels" wine. They have a white wine version as well, but you can't beat this for under $12 a bottle. read more

I enjoy the good prices for bulk items, especially on household and certain grocery items. I can usually find most items cheaper by watching ads and using coupons at my local grocery store. If you don't want to wait or spend time using coupons, this is a good place. Do not expect any services other than a cashier ringing you up. We had to seek out someone TWICE to sell us a membership at the "member services" area. We purchased a kids outdoor fort. It took a little while to find someone to help "buy" the fort. There was NO tag to take to the register. There were No boxes to purchase. There was only the display. We had to get someone to locate and bring the boxes from the back to the register. Then once outside, we had to wait 20 minutes before someone was available to help is load the boxes into the truck. Expect a lot of waiting and take initiative if you need ANY additional services! read more

Love Sam's but miss my Irondale store very very badly! Now I have to drive to Trussville to go to Sam's so don't shop there as often. Went to the Irondale store once a week on an average. Trussville is only once a month. Always did and do eat at the food court. Just wish it was still in Irondale!! Recommend the pizza and the hot dog. The y have a new polish dog but prefer the hot dog. They have good meats and their rotisserie chickens are great! The best thing in my opinion is the mobile scanner! You can scan as you go and check out right on your cellphone!! All you have to do is show your completed scan as you go out. Wish they had this at Walmart!!! No waiting in line to check out! I think the only items you can't do this with are alcoholic drinks and tobacco products..... anything with an age requirement. read more

Terrible location to find items that most other Sam's carry. They were out of five items that I went in to get today. Had to drive on the other side of town just to find the items at that location and they were well in stock there. So someone here does not order adequate merchandise. Self check outs have also taken over at this location. Remember self check outs help the company to save money not the consumer! Will avoid if I'm ever in this area again. Store was clean. Pitiful Employees.... The employees at this store could care less that there are customers present. They huddle in groups and ignore customers who may need their assistance. The girl who straightens the clothes spends her time with her face in her phone texting (check the cameras you'll see). Her buggy blocks the isle so customers can't move about. During a previous visit, there was an employee who was resting in a recliner. I wanted to try it out so I asked if I could sit in it. She moved but not until she rolled her eyes and huffed about it. So sorry to be an inconvenience, right. Some of the shelves and coolers aren't being restocked and the bathrooms are filthy. Now I could have maybe looked past a bad visit once, but this it the apparent culture of this store as it is the same each time I have visited.
