Now that Yelp has changed their 3-star label to just "OK", instead of the previous "A-OK", I'll be generous and award 3 stars to this Sam's Club (as much as the "Could have been better" for 2 stars might have been closer to my sentiments. Since we only recently joined, we've never been to one out of state. This one is so close to the Venure Drive Costco - so why not check it out! Perhaps I shouldn't have bothered. This space has even MORE of a warehouse feel to it than most other big box warehouses I've come across. Not sure if the square footage is lower than other Sam's - and I did not do a thorough compare - but it certainly feels like the selection here is more limited. One area I almost always check is the wine section. Theirs is mostly racked, compared to the usual bin/aisle display, and that's not a positive. Don't want to be too much of a wine-snob when I say this, but when one of their largest wine displays is of Reunite's 1.5 L. Lambrusco, that pretty much tells half of the story! Seriously, they must have less than half of all the wines that I find at my Florida Sam's, which is ironically that opposite of Costco (meaning, I find much BETTER selection of wines in Costcos in Georgia, compared to FL, by far!) Again I find fault with their completely stupid merchandising: I'm no expert in the subject, but a good merchandiser goes beyond making the shelves look pretty; the objective is in ... MOVING the merchandise and turning the inventory, and just as importantly, helping shoppers make smart purchases (or at least giving that appearance)! In a side-by-side display of mindlessness, they had two EVOOs, same brand, different price, but the SMALLER size is actually higher cost than the larger size! (see my photo). How did that happen, you ask? Well the more expensive one was organic, and the other isn't. You'd think they'd make that abundantly clear in the big price sticker on the rack? Nope! Sometimes I rather just not write a review if I cannot say anything positive about a place. On the positive side so far everyone I have dealt with here has been nice (the checkout people at the door) other than that, sadly it ends there. I just upgraded my account to plus, as we have several kids and do buy in bulk and it includes free shipping on most items. With a place like Walmart, one might think they would have consistency in their Sam's Clubs floor plan as those who shop here are members and are paying. (Basic member $45, Plus $100; paid annually). In comparison from this location (Duluth) to the Snellville location, this place is a solid one star. Today we stopped here because it is closer. They have almost no bread, seriously, no bread and didn't have any of the mozzarella cheese we buy. It goes beyond that though; the isles in the store are all over the place, making it extremely hard to navigate to find anything. Half of one type of product is over there, while the rest of it is located on the other side of the store. They have a very limited supply of produce here compared to Snellville and the store is just dirty. This location does not have kiosk machines at their restaurant so if you want to order food or drinks, you will be standing in a long line. Where Snellville has 5 kiosk machines and your order and then just pick up your food when they call your number. Sorry Sam's, this story needs a total facelift. There are 3 types of memberships you can purchase: the regular, the plus, and the business card. With the regular card ($45 a year) you receive some discounts monthly. With the plus card ($100 a year) you get discounts too, but you can also earn cash rewards. So every time you spend $500 you get $10 for you to spend or cash out. I will never go back to this Sam's location again. The reason I went there was because it was closer to my office so I placed an order for curbside pick up that would be ready between 5 & 6pm. Not only was it not ready but they didn't even have everything that I had ordered because I went into the store to get the stuff myself. So I canceled the order online, which it's not showing that it was canceled but I get an email at 8:49pm telling me my order was ready to be picked up which is hilarious because the store closed at 8:00!!! Not only that but I stood in line for over 15 minutes to show the receipt to the one checker at the door because the line was so freaking long. This location is consistently the worst I have ever been to. In particular the food court here is extremely unprofessional. Time and time again the staff of this food court close up HOURS before they're supposed to. I was just there yesterday and was planning to order food and it was at least 2 hours prior to when the food court is supposed to close and was told when approaching the counter they were only selling drinks. I asked what time they close and the girl said 7:00pm. It was 5:00pm! She said they were very busy so they decided to close early. WTF kind of excuse is that?!? For the record, I've seen them to do this numerous times, 2-3 hours before the warehouse is closed, the kitchen is closed and cleaned and appears as though it hadn't been open for a very long period of time, whether it's a week day or weekend. This is inexcusable and I'm amazed management allows this and I question whether other customers notice this because I sure do! The manager of this establishment needs to be held accountable because this is a very poor reflection upon Sam's Club in general. Unfortunately this warehouse is the closest location to my home but I will be going elsewhere from now on. For the record, I have never seen another Sam's Club do this with their food court so it's very specific to this location in Duluth. If the employees don't want to work or be there, QUIT! On top of this issue with their food court, the situation with the shopping cars is pretty abysmal as well. This is a good location. I've never encountered a rude employee. They have a nice selection of items and they're usually fairly priced. I once got a set of Samsonite hard shell luggage for $150 down from $180 which I thought was a good deal. They have giant rotesserie chickens which are cheap and taste great. I couldn't find any cans of Bubbly Water at this location which was disappointing. I enjoy it more than La Croix. I found an absolutely gorgeous LG Television but at $1,799 it was too rich for my blood! These are the days I wish I was rich! read more

just wow. i'm not an employee here but i can tell management is horrible and don't care for their employees specifically in the food department. every time i go into sam's club i go to the food court for a snack after shopping and 9/10 it's only ONE person working. i feel so bad because the lines are long on the weekend and yet, he still does an amazing job with customers service, time/effectiveness, and order accuracy. Will never step foot in this Sam's Club again. Horrible employees who are more interested in talking to each other than helping paying customers. Brought this issue to the person at the exit who works there checking receipts and my mom and I got called rude by this person when we told her that the behavior by the employees was unacceptable. We requested to speak to a manger who might as well have been like talking to a brick wall. My mom demanded an apology and the employee rolled their eyes at my mother. Its a larger version of Walmart (imagine that), and it is always busy. No fancy decor it is just a warehouse. You buy in bulk. Many moons ago price checkers used rollerskates to cover more floor space. (Just a bit if history) I like the monster carts to carry all the large and awkward boxes around. Small businesses get to shop earlier before they let the regular crowds in. I advise you to bring a calculator to breakdown the price of the bulk item you purchase. This will give you the value that is relevant in regular packaging and quantities. Items you may see at one visit may not be ordered again. If you like something you see bear this in mind. Let First say like most I was a Sam's fan years ago and loved it. I have since then became member of Bj's and once I made a move there was no Bj's near me so I became a member at Costco. I've been a Costco customer for more than 5 years. I don't have one complaint about Costco from the quality of foods, customer service, prices and samples that they offer I'm a true fan at heart. Fast forward to a week or so ago I found a Groupon deal for a Sam's club membership. You can pay $35 and receive a $10 gift card for becoming a member or you can pay $45 and receive $20 plus tons of instant savings on products for membership. So basically I could join for $20-$25 which seemed amazing to me. I chose the $45 deal. I finally had an opportunity to stop in today to get my official card and look around. Parking was plentiful and the buggies were also available. As I walked in I had to immediately go to member services however there were 5 or 6 ahead of me and about 4 behind me with 2 People working to assist. I was in line for about 25 minutes waiting to get serviced. A lady in line behind me a long time member called the store while in line to speak to a manager to send someone else over to help with the long line and Long wait time. I think she was on hold for 6-7 minutes. When I finally got up to desk the manager finally showed up to address the concerns. I'm not sure what happened but the cashier lady that assisted me was very helpful and patient with me as I looked through emails etc.. to give her what she'd needed to produce my hard copy of membership card. Now that I have my card I proceeded to look around and I found what I thought was a couple of good deals. They had a 4qt & 7 qt Dutch oven for $47 , stainless steel and black spice rack for $19 and 3part slow-cooker buffet for $29. With my $20 gift card either deal would be a win. Now because I am a regular shopper at Costco 2-3 times a week and definitely on weekends I compared a few items and Sam's prices were higher. The rib-eye steaks were like $9 something a lbs but a few packages were marked down to $7.78 a lbs at Sam's. Costco ribeye were $6 something a lbs and it appeared to be a better quality of meat. They only had 1 lady there with with a sample of Quiche, sausage patty and a small cup of cappuccino. This location (Duluth) did not have a gas station as an offering. I did not care for the set up it was not very inviting. I wasn't impressed nor did it remind me of the old Sam's that I loved Year's ago. I will probably stop in a few more times just to give it another chance but I can tell you now that the chances for renewal doesn't seem to be in the future for me unless something changes. I will perhaps visit a different Sam's to be fair in my assessment because it's very possible that all Sam's are not created equally. read more

This sams club is better than the one in tucker. I figure I find one that I like. although I forgot to review the one in Augusta (I'll do that when I go back), this one isn't that bad. This review is for the optical department. I recently changed my vision insurance and since my previous eye doctor doesn't take my new insurance, I decided to go here to have my yearly vision exam. My vision exam was fine and the optometrist was nice. My issue with this place came up when I ordered contacts. I ordered my contacts on 3/1 and received a call on 3/7 saying that my contacts were ready to be picked up. I didn't have a chance to go pick them up until 3/20. When I went to pick them up, I was informed that they were already picked up on 3/17. Bina, the lady that helped me ordered me a new set after asking me some questions. She told me that my contacts would arrive in a few days. Since I had some errands to tend to in the area today, I called them to see if my contacts were in since no one had contacted me about them. I was informed that they were ready to be picked up. When I came in to pick up my contacts today, the lady Bina was there again. She showed me a picture of a black lady and asked me if I knew her, I told her no. She then told me that the lady had told her that I was her daughter and that she was told to pick up the contacts for me. Bina then continued to ask me a series of questions insinuating that I had something to do with MY missing contacts. The whole situation made me uncomfortable and was not handled appropriately IMO. Shopping here has generally been decent, but I've had a frustrating experience with the Tire and Battery Center. I recently had 4 new tires installed by them, and a slow air leak surfaced from one of them not long afterwards. I took it back to them a couple days later in the early afternoon and asked them to find and fix it. I didn't hear from them at all for several hours, and called to check in on the status a couple hours before closing. It took a bit to get through (this location is noticeably understaffed), but I was informed it was ready for pickup. When I came in, I was told they couldn't find a leak and replaced the valve stem in an effort to make it go away. Sure enough, that failed to do so, and I took it back a few days later. An hour after dropping it off, I got called back and told yet again they couldn't find the leak, and went on to chide me for over-inflating my tires. They seemed baffled when I reminded them that tire pressure would increase slightly after being driven around for a bit, and a proper measurement would involve waiting for the tires to cool down. With my faith in their competency shaken, I took it to another shop today, and they quickly diagnosed it as a leaking valve stem cap from my aftermarket TPMS. They clearly didn't bother to dunk test this like a standard tire shop would, as it would've quickly identified this as the root cause. I'm regretting my decision to have purchased these tires from Sam's Club. Fingers crossed for a better experience at another location... read more

Emloyees attitude is nasty. The girl- Layenne that works at customer service booth is extremely rude as I tried to give her the information of the membership. If you work in the customer service department, please learn the most basis knowledge of customer service. Costco is much better in treating their customers. I seriously hate this sam's club. it's just awful when it comes to customer service. no one really smiles at you or greets you unless they're the one that checks your membership card when entering (probably b/c they're paid to do so). no one is helpful either... even when you look completely lost. the employees here are SO strict! I do not have my own sam's card, so I tried to use my mom's to pick up some stuff for my place. me & the bf picked up over $100 worth of items and we headed towards the check out lines. please keep in mind that sam's club does not offer self check out like costoco does. therefore, everyone must check out with a live person. after all out items were scanned and we were given our total, the cashier girl asked to see our sam's club membership card. also, another FYI: sam's club card has a picture ID of the card holder; the picture on the card was my mom's. the cashier girl has the audacity to tell us that I'm clearly not the person on the card. really? no shhh.. I then explained to her that it was my mom's and I don't see the big issue. we're giving them our $, so who cares? she continues to deny me the ability to purchase and complete my transaction. WOW. so you kno what? we just rolled our eyes, left all our stuff behind AND headed to the exit. THAT'S THEIR LOSS! I don't usually come to this Sam's Club because it doesn't have a self checkout like the one in Tucker. If I come here, it's because of convenience with whatever I have to do during that time. To me, the people are less friendly and parking is more chaotic. I hated the people at the food court. So rude and disrespecful, very stuckup.
