I think we all expect to get groceries that aren't damaged when we pay a yearly fee to access Sams Club. Yet, on more than one occasion I have seen groceries and items they put out that are damaged and I am just really tired of it. They put full price on items that could be considered hazardous if consumed because they are damaged . When an items packaging is compromised it allows bacteria and other contaminants to enter the packaging and could end up being consumed by the customer . Another issue is the cafe . They like to pre-make items and put them in a warming box for people to pick up and take. The food in there gets dried and it's inedible. On one occasion they were pre making ice cream and storing it in the fridge. So uncovered ice cream is just sitting in a fridge and they sell It to the customers. The ice cream has chunks of ice in it from being freezer burnt! What is going on at this Sams Club! Maybe it's time to contact the health department. I had a curbside pick up order scheduled for 4 PM one day. I never received the email that my order was ready and I inquired at Sam's about that and was told if I didn't receive an email it wasn't ready. So I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally the following morning I received a text message stating that my order had been canceled. No explanation. That is completely unacceptable. And terribly pitiful customer service. I should've been kept updated about the status of my order. But I received nothing from Sam's until finally it was canceled. read more

If they don't have the products in store and need to order online there is a $8.00 shipping charge if less than $50.00 and they do not give a chance to add or cancel once order is placed. On a multi-state road trip & stopped in Grand Junction to fuel up, and by chance discovered the mortal enemy of any successful long haul... nail in the tire. Also, it's a Sunday. While no pressure sensors were going off (yes - do check the alerts, occasionally) but not wanting to get stranded in the desert with a flat (and deal with unloading this suspect at best pack job, we're talking no rear view visibility level here) and maybe after a call to a Dad or two, the decision was made; something had to be done. After calling around 20 places in town, all closed (see the Sunday comment above) decided to throw a Hail Mary and give Sam's Club a shot. Marlon in the tire department was an absolute gem. Not only did he get us in, he went above and beyond sorting us out in no time with a fill & a patch (something like that). Turning what could have been an absolute disaster into a 30 minute pit stop & a nice leg stretch. He was knowledgable, friendly, efficient & didn't try for any sort of an upsell... I don't know what what else you need from a tire professional. Top notch customer service coming thru in the clutch (ehhhhh couldn't go without a pun). All the stars for Marlon. read more

For the most part, this is a typical Sam's Club. The reason I give the rating of maybe is that the Tire Center is the worst. And this is based on several interactions over several years. I bought tires there and I dread going back. I experience a very unhappy work staff that complain about the company and give reasons why they can't help you. And today was no different. There was only 2 of them and they were working on 1 vehicle. I was told that if they took a walk-in they would fall behind. I took the vehicle down the road and got immediate service at a very busy location. They will get my business in the future. read more

Just a little disappointed in my recent purchase of Sam's chicken pot pie. I've been telling friends it is the best. This time however, it seems smaller but the problem is they have cut back on the ingredients. No more large pieces of chicken. I contacted the store because of a safety concern with their optometry door exit being deadbolt locked shut during business hours. There is no emergency crash bar to open the door outward in the event of an emergency. Their only response was that there is an emergency exit 30 feet away. I guess you better hope there's no fire or active shooter in this location because a door that you can clearly see out of won't let you escape the building if your life depends on it. How much does an emergency crash bar actually cost? This store is too cheap to put one in place even though it may save someone's life down the road. Not worth doing business with ever. read more

While I still wish there was a Costco in Grand Junction - I am very happy with this Sam's club. They always seem to have plenty of check out stands open. The selection of merchandise and food products is very good. And prices are very good as well. It is a very clean and well lit store with wide enough aisles. Hope to get there someday when they are giving out samples - but haven't been there at the right time yet. read more

I enjoy shopping at Sam's Club. It is always a bonus to score a sample of pizza or an egg roll as you shop. What can be frustrating is that everything is in such large quantities. Do I really need 2 pounds of shredded cheese? Or 18 hamburger buns? I do realize Sam's is for small business owners and large families as I am not either of these. So, my shopping can be sometimes difficult. The deals are good. The weekends can be a challenge as it gets much busier. The checkers do a great job in helping move along the lines and get you out as fast as possible. read more

This location is always the worst. Today I was five minutes early for standard customer check out. They insisted I couldn't wait in the completely empty checkout line for the time to pass so I could check out, rather they said they had to put back all of my groceries! I thought I'd get some gas and come back in, but their gas was 35 cents higher than the non-member gas station by my house. I sincerely don't know why I even renewed my membership this year. Always out of stock on common things particularly in vitamins and OTC meds, and this was true even before the classic Covid excuse. Their fresh squeezed orange juice used to be an incentive to visit but now the juice is mediocre at best. Suspect management is pennywise pound foolish stupid. When traveling along I-70 Grand Junction is one of my preferred fuel stops. Sams Club is located a ways off I-70 but they offer gas prices that are hard to beat. And if you're pulling a trailer or are driving a larger vehicle those savings can make it worth your time to drive the 5 miles off I-70 to stop here. This Sams is located very close to other favorite stops including an Autozone, Wal-Mart, and yes there is a Chick-Fil-A close by. In short you can make Sams Club part of a refueling stop for both you and your vehicle with a minimum of hassle. 3 Stars...it really is A-Ok! read more

I wish to echo a review that "Thomas N" made. We have shopped at Sams for a number of years only because there isn't a Coscto near enough. For years the Sams here in GJ has been terrible at restocking common items. Three days ago went in to the store for three particular items. (Graham Crackers. Spaghetti O, and Gatorade Zero). All three were out of stock. This seems to be a common occurrence. Do the managers even keep track of their stock? We finally left in frustration without purchasing anything. We finally several years ago purchased a membership at the Costco in Gypsum. It is worth the drive to be able to find what you want. As someone else said - if there were a Costco in GJ it would be just a matter of time before the Sams store here would go underwater. read more

Beyond big families, this is a great idea for giant roomie situations. $20 massive supply of fancy toilet paper, geeze, who thought I'd ever reason my way into buying that stuff? $9 for 70 pizza rolls, YES! $9 HUGE container of Bertolli Olive Oil?!!@!! Amen! Roomie dinner? Check out the stakes, and fish! I just picked up 4 strips for 20 bucks and they were sooooo tasty. Great deals on frozen shrimp too! Some things don't make all that sense to me (as a non-parent and a non-in house storage person) 5 tubes of tooth paste? No... 4 bottles of dish soap? It took me 8 months to use one... This is a smart shopper zone. It's time to get out your shopping lists, maybe your meal planner, and for sure your freezer bags!!! Don't be afraid to buy in bulk!! Feeding one? Section off your meats, and veggies in serving size portions, and pop em in the freezer. Life can't get any more 'single serve' than that! Go with your friend who has a membership. I purchased several items nothing super expensive. But about $400 worth of merchandise. Cashier was friendly. Went home and went about my day. The next morning I get home from my morning hike and there was a message on our answering machine from Sam's Club. They demanded we call them immediately. I returned the call and was appalled when the person I spoke with threatened to have me charged with theft if I didn't return to the store immediately and pay them or return the items we had purchased. I explained that I had paid for everything in my cart and that I had the receipt showing that I paid. The lady at Sam's proceeded to tell me that the cashier had charged my card but somehow cancelled the transaction in the process. Essentially they charged my card then refunded it. I explained that I didn't live in town and would be happy to come by the store the next time I was in town and resolve the issue. That wasn't good enough either come back immediately or have theft charges filed she demanded. So I went back to the store after I cleaned up from my hike where I proceeded to REPAY for the items as most had been used. I then cancelled my membership. Very poor training skills for employees and extremely rude management. Will never consider joining or using again. Sadly I supported this environment for years not knowing their true colors. read more

The staff wouldn't ask if you needed help... you would try to get there attention and they would ignore you and walk straight past you. Also at the food and drink section the kiosks were down and there was nobody working there. So we asked if we could get the kiosks back up to order some food and drinks and nobody did anything. They said I'll get right on that and we watched them go and do absolutely nothing. It would be different if it was closed however it was noon meaning they should have been open for a few hours. I go to Sams club out of necessity for both work and home. I visit the Grand Junction store at least once a week and most of the time I weave in and out of the tall standing isles with ease and most of the time find something I never knew I needed. Check out for the most part takes longer than my time shopping, wether it's a full cart or just a few items. Every time I have bought stamps or needed further assistance that has been the hold up! The cashiers have been great and fast paced but when they need to call for a manager is when time stops. Apparently they need approval to open the drawer to get stamps, so they call to a manager standing 20 feet away only to get extremely slow response. I find it very rude to wait on managers while they are just sanding around talking and laughing with other employees. Customers first, right? read more

We received an invitation by mail to the Sam's Club December open house. The flyer specifically said no membership was required. On Friday we grabbed a shopping cart, entered the store and told the greeter we were there for the open house and she welcomed us with a smile. Twenty minutes later we went to a checkout with our few items (nuts, frozen fish, vanilla extract) and that is when the smiles disappeared. The cashier said he needed an orange "guest pass" to ring up our purchase. I went to the service desk told the floor manager why we were there and asked about the guest pass. The manger immediately asked for my driver's license. This seemed odd and when I asked why, she said they had to enter the information including my telephone number for my trial membership. I told her I was not interested in becoming a member and I didn't want to give Sam's Club that info. No license, no guest pass, end of story. We left the store angry about this bait and switch tactic by Sam's to extract marketing information under the guise of an "open house" event. Do they even train these people in the basics of retailing? What kind of a store invites customers to shop only to tick them off and have them leave empty handed? read more

I purchased new tires from Sams. There was a noise coming from the wheels and I took it back to see if there was a lug nut loose or something. The attendant that helped me was extremely cold and treated me like I was stupid. He said he would look at the car. Called me to let me know it was done. I asked what he found. He said absolutely nothing. The receipt said that all my tire pressures were good and the lug nuts were ok. I got home and my husband was able to tighten all my lug nuts by hand. My tire pressure gage came on because they were low. I believe he shrugged me off and didn't check anything! I drive around kids in my car and loose lug nuts are a safety hazard! I will never go back to their tire department. read more

This is not a review of Sam's Club. I am happy we have a Sam's Club in Grand Junction. This is a complaint of an employee at Sam's Club and probably should be entered somewhere else. I had two things in my cart and went in right after they had opened on Saturday 8/19. Eric was checking out a customer, but when I walked up, he informed me he was closed. There was only one lane open that wasn't the self checkout. I prefer self checkout, but I can't do that at Sam's paying cash, only with a credit or debit card. I went and got in the one line and stood there for 20 minutes waiting for a few large orders in front of me while about 10 employees stood around waiting for their checkout stands to open. Eric proceeded to just be shooting the breeze with his fellow employees. Typically, customer service is pretty good in this store, but not today! I would love if Sam's made their self checkouts cash friendly. I typically am only in for one or two items at a time. read more

Just a warning to everyone, don't ever purchase anything through the Sam's Club website. We were originally told that our delivery date would be between October 13th and the 23rd. I received an email on October 17th that the confirmed delivery date would be October 27th. Okay, I'm flexible. I made sure that I was available for the delivery today, and then I receive an email at 0400 this morning to tell me that my shipment wouldn't be delivered until tomorrow. I called Sam's Club and they told me their contracted shipping company was updating their systems and that there were multiple complaints regarding inaccurate delivery dates. They advised me that in the future I should speak to a live person to confirm my delivery date. This was after I explained to them that I had tried to contact the local delivery hub on six different occasions. Every phone call had ended in a busy tone or the voicemail system. I left two messages with no callback in either situation. They apologized, but then told me that there was nothing that they could do. In the meantime my wife is leaving for Denver tomorrow and I'm supposed to find a way to be available for the delivery. Thanks for that. read more

Overall good experiences here. The front of the store seams to be a little chaotic every time we go. Shelves seam to be well stocked and the store is pretty clean. The depth of selection in the frozen area and meats doesn't seam as good as other Sam's clubs I have shopped. read more
