They charge more for membership now. They charge more in-store now. They charge for shipping or delivering toilet paper now when that used to be free (even with their most expensive membership plan). They can't get a simple delivery order correct. And then once they screw up, they won't help you. They direct you to a 1-800 number or online chat where you have to wait 49 minutes before anyone will pick up. Not worth the little bit of discount. You don't really save much. read more

Went to Sams Club for the first time with the best friend.  I've never been to such an amazing store.  I swear I could furnish my entire home here while also filling my kitchen with food.  Sams club seemed to go on forever and ever and ever.  We spent an hour here on Saturday but I could've spent 3 or 4 hours at the store.  Everything is cheap and most things are in the biggest possible size.  I love that they have restaurant brands here like Red Lobster and Panera Bread so I can have my favorite treats from reataurants in my home.  I am very excited to come back. read more

I love visiting sams wherever I go. Easy parking lot ever. In and out was smooth getting gas was so easy snd there was plenty of parking. All on a Friday memorial weekend!! The store was well organized like all of them and it wasn't busy. They even had samples!! I love that each store carries different products. I left with several things that we didn't have in my home town. I was extremely pleased and happy with this visit just didn't disappoint. read more

You can only use half of the gas pumps because according to the girl with pink hair, their hoses are too short and management thinks it's a safety issue to use the others. Be prepared for a long line or a scolding from the safety ranger. read more

We stopped here specifically for fuel while on a trip. They DO NOT have fuel and will not have until spring of 2015. Otherwise Sam's is a great place to shop. read more

I'm leaning more towards a 1-Star due to poor service at the Customer Service counter. Visit 1: Initial sign-up. Other than slow, things went fairly well. Visits 2 & 3: A year or so after my membership expired, I went to redeem a Groupon. The Groupon promo had expired but I was just trying to redeem the portion I paid into it. Per Groupon terms, that part never expires. I should have just been able to apply that amount towards a membership and pay the difference. After two separate attempts, I went to Groupon who gave me a refund. Visit 4: I found a promo through Ebates instead so went to redeem that. I was only 2nd in line but gave up after 20 minutes since the line hadn't moved (and I had to get to work). Visit 5: can't recall what for nor how it went. Let's assume that one went well. Visit 6: I finally got signed up a week or two later but, this time, I wasn't eligible for a bonus that went with the promo. This process took a long time for two reasons: 1) no one knew about the promotion I bought, 2) they had computer problems which seemed to be a normal issue. I sometimes wonder why I even bothered signing up but they do have a good selection of items and cashiers have been friendly. One thing Costco has on them is that it was easier there to find someone if you needed help. One thing Sam's Club has on Costco are the lines. I will never forget those long lines! O_o As long as you don't need Customer Service, you can actually get through pretty quick and I love that! Notes: - My 1st membership was set up in Holland but I mainly used the Sparta location which worked out well. I haven't shopped at this one much yet so most of my experience (and time) is at the "Customer Service" desk. - Most of my visits (shopping and dealing with Customer Service) have been on Saturdays so I can't speak for what is typical during the week. - Perhaps my view of this place will change once I get a few more trips in? P.S. No thank you, Vendor. I do not wish to buy that amazing product that I can't live without. read more

This is the 4th Sams Club in the West Michigan area I have shopped at since becoming a member this summer.This Holland location was the best one so far.10/10 stars and I will be holding all other Sams Clubs to the standards of professionalism that this Sams Club set.Upon entering the flow of shopping was more busy than I have seen other locations the staff all seemed to be helping shoppers so I expected the wait to be longer than I anticipated.Kevin must have attended a few corses in person to person communication cause he was professional and nice.He went a step above all the other personnel and UPSOLD us on getting a upgraded membership but wasn't pushy.Kevin should be one of the teachers that train other employees on customer service I have nothing but praises for this location because of his service.The usual wait time was nil he was giving us service in the jewelry department before I could start waiting.The trip was well worth driving from Muskegon to Holland. read more

Two stars was generous here, and only because of the friendly helpful staff. As far as management goes, one star all the way. The continuing "improvements " there, aren't improving anything. Whose brainiac idea was it to remove the open/closed signs by each checkout?? Even your own staff thinks its asinine. You thought it made the pole look "cluttered "?? Seriously? Now you have to wander aimlessly not knowing whose open and who isn't. Put a dang Red light for closed and green for open, but don't have nothing. Piss poor here. read more

It's a Sam's Club and that pretty much sums it up since if you've seen one you've seen them all. My only gripe about this store is that some of the vendors giving samples in the stores can be too pushy. I understand it's the job they are being paid to do, but when a customer says, no thank you, they should respect their wishes and back off. Other than that this store has a nice selection and if you don't mind buying in bulk quantities for grocery items has some nice values available. read more

Dreadful place. at checkout They are apparently required to ask if you want to pay anywhere for 50.00 to 14.95 for a cash rewards program. I've said "no" the last 12 times I've been there. And even after you say "no,no,no" they keep spewing their canned speech. It is beyond obnoxious..... What is so difficult about understanding "no". They track everything else we do and buy; surely they could register a "NO" in their customer profiles. I'm sick to death of it and will drive to the Grandville Costco where you are treated like a human and not a caged rat. read more

Terrible experience and customer service. Instant rebate didn't come on receipt for $5.00. Attempted to go to customer service where they were unable to help because their receipt didn't have enough ink and didn't print correctly. So instead of spending 40 minutes watching employees look a each other like a deer in a head light, I'm spending my time writing this review. The seriously need to get it together! read more

This place is a joke!! They never have enough lanes open and if you try to use the self checkout the lady watches over you like your a 2 year old. If I need you help I'll ask!!! They also have different venders for phone and TV and they keep asking questions even after I said I was all set. If I'm a member I want to come in and shop. I don't want to be mothered or talked into something I don't need. Use a little common sense and just leave the member to shop. If we need something we will ask. read more

Parking is ample and close-by in the well-lit and clearly marked lot. Valets? Forget it! Entering the door we are greeted by our host with a friendly smile. Our special photo ID guarantees our continuing welcome at this exclusive venue. Non-members may enter as guests only. Country Club?? Not quite. "Industrial Chic" abounds in this dining establishment. No detail was left to the imagination by the design team of Walton von Ark. This local enclave of one of the world's top grossing companies remains unique in design, definition, and practice yet it is certainly not for everyone. Turning to the left, we escort ourselves toward the brightly colored tables as we soak up the ambiance. Towering ceilings give the impression the sky's the limit. The walls are done in understated white cinderblock. Floor covering is a serviceable sealed silky-smooth concrete. In a less than subtle commentary on our modern lifestyles, the air is perfumed with the essence of our consumer society: laundry detergent, steel-belted radials, coffee, chocolate and even their signature 5-pound bars of floral moisturizing facial soap. The aromas excite the senses and bring about recollections of an outdoor market square somewhere in the emerging third world. Our dining area is conveniently located between the meat counter and the washrooms. More comment necessary? Limited menu but excellent value for the dollar is the rule here. Lacking an offering of the "Belt Buster", I opted for the "combo". Although my dining partner disagrees, this half-pound kosher hot dog on a steamed bun is the best in town. And the trimmings? Reconstituted minced onions? Knock yourself out! It is condiments galore at the self-serve table located conveniently nearby - your choice, no limit, of course! Mustard? Ketchup? Relish? A must try is the packet of sauerkraut - cut and squeeze. The one-size ice-cold beverage is so generous it could satisfy a camel about to cross the Sahara. Sadly the bag of chips is no longer available. Other selections are pizza (Three - count 'em, THREE kinds) and the ever-famous Polish on a bun. The soothing tones of Kenny G's "Flight of the Bumblebee" is occasionally preempted by, "Frank, report to the lot to retrieve carts". My personal favorite is, "Wet cleanup in aisle 32!" This is a multi-sensory experience. But as with everything else, good things always come to an end. We deposited our paper goods in the huge collection bin and bid our gracious hosts a fond farewell. On the way to the door, we took pause to reflect and pick up a few things for around the house, a half-gallon of Chanel No. 5, ten gallons of floor wax stripper and a 25,000 count case of coffee filters. As we had been greeted upon our arrival, we received royal attention upon our exit with the application of a yellow stripe across our receipt bringing closure to another gastronomic adventure. They Keep moving products to different areas adding lots of time to shopping trips. there are times when frozen products seem to have been thawed and re-frozen - they are one massive brick. There are often very aggressive sales people not associated with the store who grab you, or touch you and are very obnoxious. Sometimes there is someone working in the tire dept, and sometimes not. Produce is seldom fresh. read more

Tired of it. My main product is Nicorette gum. 4mg, White Ice mint. I live in Grand Haven and Holland is 3 miles closer to my house than the Sams in Muskegon. The last 5 times I go to Holland to buy this gum the pamphlet is on the shelf, (they don't put the box of gum on the self, you select a pamphlet) and when I get to the checkout the lady tells me that they are sold out of that brand. WHY IS THE PAMPHLET ON THE SHELF IF THEY ARE SOLD OUT. Now I call first before I leave. I go there today and grab the 4 mg white ice gum pamphlet and head to the check out. The lady gives the box to the cashier (she has to go back into the tobacco cage to get it) and the cashier rings it up. I purchase a couple of other things and out the door I go. I get home and open the box and the lady had given me 2mg. I guess I will be heading to Muskegon from now on. Can't wait until Cosco comes to Holland. read more

Love this store. This location doesn't have a gas station. I shop here every other week and have never had an issue checking out and the associates are always pleasant and helpful. This store does not have a gas station though. The Direct Tv vendors can be a bit pushy but when I tell them Im not interested they do leave me alone. read more
