The items we wanted were cheaper at this particular Sam's, but the store is dirty. No one is organizing the produce, so there are empty boxes everywhere. The strawberries that were left were moldy. The wait lines for the cashiers were long. Indianapolis, IN. 46254) Glasses were made at eyeglass world (better deal than Sams club). glasses were made as per the prescription but could not see clear with the new glasses because the prescription was wrong. Because of this wrong prescription at Sam's Club eye exam, we had to go to a different place to get an eye exam. This places' name is "Eyeglass world". I got all new tires from this location November 11th. I was happy no problems and the tire guys were great... so I thought until today when I went to get my tires rotated at a different Sam's location and the lug nut key for my tires was missing. This would have been the last location it would have been used and it was missing from the bag they typically place it in. I visited the Tire Center at Sam's club to replace the tires on my SUV. The service was quite ok, however I am accustomed to much better at Sam's Club. The first off-putting moment was the lack of anyone available at the check-in desk to greet me or check me in for my appointment. I searched the entire department, but did not manage to locate anyone. After a bit of waiting, an associate did appear and proceed to check me in. I had four new tires installed on my vehicle, but somehow the installation team neglected to properly balance the tires once installed. My tire pressure upon exiting the facility ranged from 41psi to 35psi, on a vehicle with a recommended tire pressure of 35psi. I am certain we are all aware of the dangers of both over-filling and under-filling one's tires. I also was not formally checked out of the center, or given any further instructions or asked about questions prior to exiting. The associate simply passed my paperwork over the counter along with my keys, while assisting another guest. As a long-time Sam's Club member, this experience was mildly off-putting. Had this been my first impression, I am not certain that I would return to this business for any additional shopping. I am of the firm belief that a discount product should not directly correlate to a "discounted service." Vehicle brought in for service for service of four new tires. When vehicle is brought in it had four hubcaps and when we got home after service there were only three. Obviously one was installed and properly as the others were intact. No note on the service record that there was any issue with the cap. Told that they are not responsible for poor installation of wheel covers. Janelle posed as a manager and would not identify herself. Only after being on hold for 15 minutes she was identified by another gentleman that was an associate. That gentleman directed me to call the 800 number and file a complaint. Probably will end up in small claims court over a $30 item. Hate to spend the money but it's the principle of it now with Janelle. read more

My family celebrated my mom's birthday this weekend and I was put on cake duty. After looking into options, I quickly found how expensive just a simple cake could be so I started asking around and Sam's was recommended. I got on the website and found a 30+ page catalogue of cake designs. They were categorized so that helped because there were SO MANY! Always call or go in to order 24-48 hours ahead of time. A woman came in requesting so many specific things and was very upset she couldn't pick up her perfect cake just 4 hours before needing it. I called 36 hours before wanting to pickup my cake and that was plenty of time. I chose the Succulent with Ruffles 10" round chocolate cake. It says it serves 16 but we could have gotten close to 20 servings out of it because we had ice cream as well. It was massive and delicious. The icing was fresh and the cake was perfectly spongy (I can't stand the "M" word used to describe a good cake texture but it's that ha!). It has a layer of icing inside between two layers of the cake. They had options of white cake as well but my mom is a chocolate lover. I walked in at the time they promised it would be ready and I paid and walked out within 10 minutes. It's also incredibly affordable. $16 for a huge decorated cake and that included custom writing if you want it, they'll even let you choose the color of the icing they write on it with. After 25 minutes of standing in line (one customer ahead of us (husband and myself), I told her in Spanish and German to speed it up! This was after I had gone to a supervisor to see if a checkout lane was open. This supervisor said no to me, but checked out her coworker with 3 CASES OF BEER. The coworker immediately came back into the store and opened the register to other patrons - never attempted to help us - assuming again because we didn't fit their "profile". I also had time to go to the customer service desk and tell them what happened. NO ACTION AGAIN - WHAT WAS I THINKING FROM A STORE LIKE THIS!!!!!! BADGES TURNED AROUND SO NO NAME VISIBLE. Absolutely ridiculous! When I first arrived here I was looking for one of the handicap scooters since my leg is broken to get my shopping done. There were none and when I ask the associate by the door she said sorry it's my first day can't help you... I was in shock. I ended up finally finding a manager who advised that they put them all away at 6 so they don't have to look for them and they are can not let them out to people. I hate to think. I just wasted money. Paying for a membership. With a company that could care less. About the service they give. Trying to reach the bakery. Is like pulling teeth. With a feather really hard. I paid for the membership. Because I wanted them to do a cake. A customized cake no one ever answers. The phone in the bakery. I was lucky enough to get a lady. On the phone who didn't give details. To my specific questions. I was told by her. They could do the picture cake I wanted. Yet she couldn't tell me. The size picture needed for the cake. Then when I call to get the correct details. A man tells me they don't customize. At all anymore so all day. I've been calling with no results. So have I wasted my money. You'd think a customer could call. Get the information they need. From the store yet their employees. Give different information to the same question. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. It shouldn't be this hard. To do a cake online it says. That you can customize. So what do I need to do. Contact the corporate office. If this is how it will be. I want my money back. read more

I love coming to Sam's when I'm planning a large or even small dinner party. The quality of meat and produce is always consistent, good quality and decent prices. The roasted chickens alone are worth the price of membership. So worth waiting for as they go quickly and can serve as is for dinner or save time using in casseroles and salads. Another go to item for me is the banana's, what a bargin. New items arrive often while several staples or brands remain for several months. Unfortunately you never know how long the items will remain in the stores so don't hestiate to long. The return process is easy and hassle free. Just hang on to your receipt and you can return for refund or replace item with another size. I've been a loyal customer since Sam's was built here to many years ago to think about now. If you've never been, ask for a guest pass and walk through the store to see if their a fit for you. read more

The customer service that I received from Sam's Club is frankly the worst I've experienced, to the point of me feeling it's worth it to write this review. I signed up to Sam's club because of a promo they had where, if I signed up, I would get a $20 online gift card and a $20 in-store gift card. Seemed a little crazy, but it was on their official website and i figured to go for it. I signed up. A few days later, I check my account online and see there is no credit or anything. No worries. I go in about a week later and head to the customer service desk. I was met with immediate defensiveness and told to call the customer service number, which I was genuinely grateful to have because i thought I was headed in the right direction towards a resolution. I call the number and the customer service rep is very nice and says they added the credit to my account, tells me to give it a few days. A few days later, nothing changes, so I send an email. I get a response asking for the promo I signed up for, so I send them the picture. No response. Email again. No response. Email through their website again. No response. And that has been the cycle I have been stuck in. I really don't expect this review to change anything, or for anyone to contact me in response to this; however, it is just frustrating to felt completely ignored when I am truly trying to be reasonable in my communication of this issue. Who doesn't love Sam's club...you can stock up on essentials...buy in bulk...and save money. I like the Rockville Rd store because it's always clean, neat and orderly. The associates are usually pretty friendly and helpful. I do have one takeaway...there never seem to be enough lines open, there are self checkout lanes that could help speed the process but most times they aren't open of use. read more

I really like Sam's Club. I visit the 96th St location more frequently than this one. However, if I can't find an item at that location, I can always find it here. That includes Black Friday as well. I shop at Sam's for their deals on items other than bulk food. Nice selection of electronics and other household goods. The have a surprisingly nice jewelry selection. The alcohol section is pretty good with its variety and it's reasonably priced as well. The staff is friendly and the store is always well organized. No long waits to checkout except that the cafe can get a little backed up at times. I hate that this one doesn't have a gas station though. read more

We ordered a pretzel and the guy told me it would be five minutes! Which was fine until he handed everyone there pretzel and when it came to the last burnt one looked at the lady then handed it me with a smile that was deceiving and filled with complete and utter racism. Like any Sam's Club huge TV's meet you at the door. Every time I see one I want to buy! We walked the clothing and found a few things that were nice and a good price. The meat section was awesome. Very good prices. The wine - lots of wine - some of it over priced but the selection was great. Sam's club for Corona Light was $21 for a 24 pack - steal! Review is for the Optical --- Yes it is weird to get an eye check-up and buy your contacts from the same place you can buy toilet paper, tvs, rotisserie chicken, frozen foods galore and anything else you may desire, and in bulk nonetheless, but man their service is bar none. I came here to order tires for my truck. I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to assist me at the tire counter, so I called for a manager. The manager came over and we ordered my tires, desk guy said the tires would be in 2 days later. I called a few days later expecting my tires to be there, come to find out they were never ordered. I was driving cross country within the week and I needed them ASAP. I spoke with assistant Store Manager, nice guy and offered a free install but at that point, the hassle turned me off, so I went else where. read more

The lines were extremely (almost comically) long. Especially for a Wednesday at 1 PM. It was our first visit (as new members) and the lines extended down the aisles to the point where you couldn't even walk around the front of the store and had to turn around and walk back up the aisle you had just gone down because it was so clogged with people in line. That being said, all the employees that we did encounter were extremely friendly and helpful and pleasant, even though I'm sure they were under a lot of stress. I did find a lot of great deals and variety and freshness, so we were happy with that. We might've just come at the wrong time and I hope not to have to deal with lines like that for the duration of our membership.
