I picked up some candy for the staff at the store and guests too. Parked by the driveway and off to the side. It wasn't chaotic like the one by our house on a Saturday. Not too bad. The exit wasn't too backed up, since they have to scan your receipt and some items too. Picked up some dove, Reese's, Snickers, Kit Kat and the usual package of Hershey's nuggets. I've had a BJs Wholesale Club membership since 2019 but as of the past month, because of various promotions, I recently joined both Sam's and Costco. We came to this Sam's today to get out membership cards... Unfortunately, they were out of the cards (?!?!?) so I'll have to keep using my digital card for now, on the app. This was a very nice Sam's - I'd say it's comparable to the Costco in Commerce Twp. I received $45 off my order for joining (and membership was $45, essentially making it free!) so I used that today and got Annie's gummies (about $16), a T-shirt ($7ish), olive oil ($12ish), mini stroopwafel ice cream sandwiches ($12ish), and a salt grinder ($4ish), for a grand total of about $51 with tax ... Aka $6 out of pocket, for me. :) Gas price was $3.87 as of today (7/31/22) which is on par with the Commerce Costco too. This location is close-ish to my boyfriend (about a 25-min. drive) but the Madison Heights location is closer to me, so I'll have to try them later this week to see if they can print me a membership card... read more

My company has been a member for 2 years. Stopped by to see if they would give me a box that they are throwing away anyway. Customer service rep wouldn't even check to see if a box was available; just said no boxes available. Apparently, membership has its privileges! Just not here Anyway, called a manager who was more helpful stating available boxes are left by the carts. I would have rated them a 1 star if the manager hadn't been helpful, but she was somewhat helpful. read more

So , bought tires on line from Sam's , great price , install day comes and not only did I request OWL tires when I ordered but also in person on the install day . So , two hours later the call comes in your truck is ready , drive there only to discover OWL tires were not installed and after a bit of a run around with the installers , the mgr. himself in forms me that the specific tire I bought does not come in OWL regardless of what the web page says ( false advertisement ) and had I known that the week before my scheduled install I would have chosen another tire . Sam's club completely ruined the new tire buying experience and I had other family members on board to buy tires at Sam's but not anymore . They can not be trusted just like everybody else in today's world . The only thing Sam's club does exceptionally well is collect your money and customer service is low priority . One hundred percent disappointed and Sam's club membership is cancelled for good . Thank you for absolutely nothing ! I am very particular about certain things like everyone else is and I was completely lied to , in person and on the web . The tire description clearly states OWL or black serrated letters are available , not true . My fault for believing everything I read but when I actually dropped the truck off and went inside the club to specify my tire choice I was lied to again . Only rating one star because like everybody says I can't give zero stars . My truck came new with awesome OWL Goodyears now it looks like a crap rental truck , beyond disappointed and I will continue to spread the word about Sam's and what a terrible place it is . This is an update to my previous review that deducted stars for being pursued by outside salespeople while shopping at Sam's. Following Covid the only salesperson I have been approached by is the cell phone person who immediately backs off when I show no interest. We shop here often, too much, and I have cases of water delivered free to my office. No complaints. read more

I'm shocked to see the low ratings at this club! I lobe this salad club! It's always fully stocked, the staff is helpful and they have a great bakery. The store is cleaned and well organized, it's never crowded like the local Costco so you can get in and out. Lobe this sams club! Literally go every week. read more

I I really don't like writing negative reviews. But, I do have to speak on my far-from-satisfactory visit recently at this Sam's club. I visited the optical department and the service was really bad, I would say, purposefully, bad. The person went out of her way Not to help us. We were just picking up an item that was already paid for, all she had to do is hand it to us, she made us wait an extraordinarily long time for now reason. She had numerous opportunities to help us, but chose not to. This episode took over 25 minutes of wasted time, just waiting. We tried to move on from that, but this location is changing their stock arrangement and reconfiguring placement of items. This is resulting in pure chaos! The odd thing is as well, I was here a couple of weeks ago, and there seems to be no progress in their reorganization. People were milling about confused and the aisles were not marked properly and there was no continuity in the store at all. Unfortunately, I had to stop at the customer service desk as well, only two employees helping people, but about 5 employees not helping customers and interfering with those that were assigned to help. A lot of staff, but not much help to the actual customer. The store was crowded, but the inefficiency is completely attributed to poor customer service. I hope this isn't going to be a pattern at this location. I have always been a real supporter and would like to continue to be. But, at this point, I won't be returning to the optical department. I hope to return to the store because I do like some items that are only available here, but if this is the new "norm," I might take my large amount of business elsewhere. read more

Yes this is a bulk store but don't believe the hype - there are some sales but not much. Especially for personal; you'll still find a better deal without paying a membership fee. This is a great SAMs Club location. The food place inside here always has delicious and fresh food (Pizza is always good) The store itself is always clean and they have a good amount of employee to customer ratio. Now let me get into the most important thing... The samples. The sample ladies, and occasional man, are always nice and are great at communicating with the customer. They also give great size samples. Sometimes I can just come here for samples on a Saturday and it is enough as a lunch. This location is my favorite one. read more

This morning I stopped in earlier than usual not realizing it was plus only hours as it was 9:30am. Did my shopping and couldn't check out without upgrading to the plus membership. I asked an employee and manager if they could assist in overriding since I was a half hour early but had already completed my shopping. They both claimed they couldn't override the system and I would have to upgrade. So either they were unwilling to or sams club has truly implemented an unforgiving system that would force you to upgrade or wait until 10am to check out. Either way, I refunded my membership. Otherwise, you may want to run away from this store at all costs. Be warned the employees will lie to you about signing up for their plus membership. I was told I could come in anytime to redeem my plus membership rebate, only to find out it had expired. Costco, by comparison, mails your rebate to you, no worry about no longer being able to claim it. On the positive side, they do add extra protein to their baked goods, such as flies. read more

This is not my usual Sam's but they stock more TVs than any other Sam's in the area. The two Sam's I had shopped prior to my visit did not have the exact TV I wanted but here they had at least 12 of my particular model. Looking around they seemed to have more selection of a variety of all TV models than they had at at my two regular Sam's (A^2 and Canton). Adding service in? Wha? Yeah, they actually had a guy in the TV area being all helpful, shocker. We got our new TV in a flash and loaded it up on the handy dandy flatbed, taking our new purchase out to our vehicle. Once out there they had some staff in the lot who had just tried to help a woman load a grill into a car (yes Sam's shoppers are just that smart). As the lady was on the phone trying to get a proper truck type vehicle to cart her goods home, the staff generously offered to help us load our TV into our party wagon. Bonus! Our experience was super cheap (over a 100 bucks plus cheaper than anywhere else), very painless and we were very satisfied overall. Poor customer service! I have had a business membership for almost 30 years, which I renew annually. They never told me that it is now a basic membership. I went to the store today at 9:40, they explained how it doesn't mean early entry anymore (which I understand). I've been meaning to review for a long time now. Been a member for years and a big supporter of Sam's Club over the other Warehouse store. However, I have to say that things have really declined over the years! They have stopped carrying favorites, actual reasons I've had my membership. They are constantly changing brands for others that are no where near equal in comparison. I can't tell you the amount of times I have went where they have been completely out of vegetables etc during the early day no less. The produce quality is lacking. Things are very frequently over ripe, avocados, oranges etc... Not sure why they try selling things that honestly should be removed. In times where most stores (including their competition) are becoming more health conscious and driven more to better products such as organic fruits(they never have these) and vegetables (carrots and maybe kale mix they offer organic for) there is no wild caught fish in the Seafood area to choose from everything they offer is farm raised unless you count frozen offerings. They used to offer a variety of pizzas, meat lovers, supreme in the pizza area. Now they only have cheese or pepperoni. One week you can get fresh mozzarella balls (small) in water not marinaded, the next week's and month they don't. You can't rely on anything being consistently available. The list goes on and on. As for the concessions area. The help is so slow that it takes forever to get served and when they do finally help you they treat you as if you're an imposition. But I have to say my biggest complaint, the reason I forced myself to finally make a review and what makes me seriously want to give my membership up right on the spot every time I shop......... The clerk's at the register pressuring me to upgrade my membership! Every single visit and not just from one person but multiple people will jump in as well. I get that they are made to up sell. I've worked in sales, I get it. Which is why I'm always respectful in my conversation about it. But once you've declined it they should mark it in the system. I don't care if I'm getting money back, I do not care if at that very moment they are going to give me a $100(not that it's been offered). If I say no thank you. It means no, not please tell me about it in four different ways for another ten minutes every week of my life!!! I am not an idiot I do not need to come look at the screen for the breakdown. I will never upgrade! Quite frankly Costco looks more and more appealing every time I'm there. This place is having a race to the bottom with the Southfield store. I gave it two stars because the employees are pleasant and nice. For the love of all things good and holy FIX YOUR CLUB PICKUP ISSUES! I order over $400 worth of common grocery merchandise. Some frozen, some refrigerated, some not. I have WASTED over 40 minutes of my life each pickup while the worker brings out one cart of merchandise, and tells me my order is done. No, I still have $200 of frozen food in the back. Blink, blink, blink. Scurries off and comes back with still only half the order and none from the dairy case. Three trips later, and STILL MISSING 4 ITEMS. WTH? The worker has a print out. I'm talking whole milk, frozen green beans, sliced ham, nothing exotic. Honestly, what is going on? Can't match up SKU #s? Older than 16 and no clue what a bag of broccoli is? My 4th trip for Club Pickup was rage inducing. WHAT AM NOT DOING THAT MORPHS THIS TRIP INTO DANTE'S INFERNO? I pay in advance. I pick a non busy time. I use the heads up text message. If I took the associate's word, I would have walked out leaving $200 worth of food behind in the freezer today. Yelpers, if you go here, make sure you tell them you have freezer/refrigerator items. They will bring out the dry goods only, like my last four visits. Look over you whole order over like you have gold sitting there. I have had items missing each of the 4 visits. Honestly, it would be quicker to grab my 3 friends and just old school shop. a couple of years ago I got some cell phones at the store in Novi later I got a fraud alert some one getting dish service in my name. I called my credit card and they had to cancel my card. Then I took the phones back -- after a fee weeks it was supposed to be no charge they still charged me. I talked to the manager he said oh we have nothing to do with those people I said what do you mean it does not have their name on the door it has sams club. So I had to take sams club to court in Novi and I got all my money back. Wow! How unorganized can a place be waited in line for 30 minutes just to be told you can't use a gift card here you have to wait in the other line. Went to other side of the store and the line was clear to the back of the store. Meanwhile I'm watching 3 associates standing in a circle telling jokes and laughing. While the store is overcrowded because the wraps throughout the whole store. I know we're in the middle of a pandemic but this is ridiculous only have three checkout lines attended. GINA THE CASHIER WAS A TOTAL TERROR TO ME. She shook her finger and scolded me in front of several customers. And it was all because I had my husband's membership card instead of my own. It was my mistake and I apologize for it because I must've handed her the wrong card. After my,"verbal crucify" she started scanning what was in my cart. I was so hurt and humiliated. This has to be by far one of the worst stores I have ever shopped at. Half of the employees here don't speak English and look like they're being held against their will to work there. I tried to return something a few weeks ago that I had purchased online, the lady working behind the counter told me that I didn't have a receipt, I showed her my delivery ticket and the receipt that I had on my phone since I purchased it through my phone. But the lady kept telling me that it wasn't a receipt, and decided to remind me that she's been working there for 15 years and she knew what she was talking about. But then when I challenged her on the receipt that was on my phone she didn't realize that she was wrong and that I was right. I took my merchandise and left and didn't even let her return my crap so I can get my money back. The best is when you leave and the guys at the front are checking your receipt they always speak to you in a different language, you don't know what they're saying they could be cursing you out they could be saying hi or they could be making fun of you.
