I'm mainly here to get gas and the pumps are constantly busy. Sometimes I can hit the sweet spot and only a couple of vehicles are ahead of me. The store is also busy so I'm grateful for scan and go. It's especially helpful since I usually only have about six items to purchase. Even though I don't purchase a lot of items in bulk, I like roaming the aisles of the store to see new products. First thing, the address someone put for this Sam's Club is completely off the mark, by about 2.5 miles off. Use a separate map and not what's on Yelp at all, unless you like driving around aimlessly. Thanks to some egit that put in the wrong location on this app for the correct address? Running a bit close to the store hour closing, luckily the fuel center is open an hour later. The lines are better than when we go to Costco. My aunt 80yrs old, forgot her walking cane in the store. A walking cane with the most sentimental value,because it was her GRANDMOTHERS. A REWARD was ultimately offered for the return of $300 (signs posted at the store). 1 day later 2 workers call, to collect the reward.. I believe that was unfair and predatory,of the staff. Now from all the check-ins I have done, Sams will continue to have the best prices for gas, in my humble and not so humble opinion. Now the gas station section will have long lines snaking out from every which direction. You may hear horns beeping and some people jumping Infront of others just to find out its only one pump working on that side. Practice patience when you come here. This location is usually busy. I try to get in and get out quickly. The pharmacy dept is quick, friendly and efficient. Like with all the Sams Stores you will have a wide variety of good and service you can purchase. You can also get hot food to take home. Keep in mind each Sams has its own vibe. I will be back. read more

Took advantage of their 40th anniversary sale and bought a 1 year membership for $10. As full disclosure, I am a big fan of Costco and have been using this chain ever since it came into the Metro Detroit area for my bulk/discount shopping needs. As a direct result of this, my two star rating is based on how this store stacks up to Costco and to be honest with you it really does not stack up very well, The store seemed disorganized and poorly laid out with aisles running both north to south and east to west where one orientation (pick one) its better suited for traffic flow. They have the bulk items that you expect with discount prices but do not have the specialty items and higher end items that Costco carries. Also the store lighting is a little on the dark side and seems a tad run down versus Costco. Lastly there was a huge disorganized queue to leave the store after checkout (early weekday afternoon ) to have your cart checked to ensure you paid for all your items. definately a HUGE negative! Overall, I will come here occasionally during the course of my new membership but when it runs out, I don't see myself renewing. read more

They closed the Sam's on Orchard Lake & 14. The closest one now is on 8 mile in Southfield. I have my reservations about going, but I will go for the optical customer care experience alone! Ms Marva and Ms Kim were such a joy to do business with! The gas is the other reason I keep the membership. Lastly, about 2 weeks ago I bought lamb chops. Some of the meat on the other end was GREEN AND HAD PAST SELL BY DATES. Mine looked fresh and had a good date. I cooked them and ate them on a Sunday. Monday morning I woke up violently throwing up lamb chops. I was sick all week. I just so happened to fill out an online survey about my experience. The store manager Coach Mike emailed me about, offering a new package of meat. I declined and he offered my money back. I took it. In my feedback I wasn't looking for a freebie but rather wanted him to understand and address my concerns. The past dated meat, green meat, rotisserie chicken being raw at the bone, they have a posted Southfield cop at the entry way. On Saturdays, only a few lines are open and employees are standing around doing nothing and angry if you ask a question. They should have closed this store and left 14 and Northwestern open. I NEVER had issues like this there. Even if I travel to Novi, it's a better experience for me. However, I am probably going to open a Costco membership. I hear my coworkers bragging on their customer service and products and I'm jealous. Lol! So, for me to write a very lengthy review like this, I wouldn't be surprised if Sams closes this store. I am a fan of this Sam's location : ) This spot always has carts waiting, I noticed that many other Sam's locations that you enter.....realize there are no carts.....have to go to the parking lot and hut one down. This location has great management that runs things well. Also, they have never been out of stock for a product that I was looking for even if it is on sale. This sams club efficiency is TERRIBLE , 1 Cashier for a entire store, people with 75 items holding up the quick self checkout lanes when they should be at a register.....and the line to get your receipt checked to leave is way back towards the vitamins......and the gas lines even worse...COSCTO can have 300 cars in line and only take 5 mins , sams club have 50 cars and it takes 25 mins read more

Why did you close the Sam's Club in F. H.? The Sfld location is smaller and darker. Plus long lines when checking out. Whenever I'm at the Novi store, the cashier always has a helper. The Sfld store cashier only gets help if the lines are super, super long. The parking lot sucks! I had to actually leave this store and drive to the Novi location because I couldn't find a parking spot. What the hell is going on? The police car parked on the side walk with the engine running and no one is in it. Wasting taxpayers money! Instant savings items aren't always available. Uggh, I miss the F. H. store. This location is ghetto. So congested when exiting the store. The entrance and exit doors are on opposite sides of the store which is really an inconvenience. Sam's Club Canton MI #6666 39800. Tire and Battery Department is worst department ever. Especially the team leader/sales representative. 12/28/22 went in for replacement battery and possible flat tire or stem punctured. Gave my keys and phone number to technician. They only had 2 technicians on staff. Always understaffed. Anyway I and my car was forgotten. But I didn't know until I returned to desk for update. 3 hours then told to come back next day at 11 am. Not first thing, but 11 am. 12/29/23 at 11 am arrived waited my turn and this time Team leader Scott was there waiting on me. Advised battery and flat. Advised him of everything that happened day before. Asked if I could be a priority due to me being forgotten, waiting 3 hours for call that never came. And having to come next day. Team Leader Scott in front of his subordinates said "You and a couple hundred want priority". I asked for manager. After about 15 minutes or so I was introduced to club manager Eric Merryweather, he listed was disrespectful like Scott, he empathized with yesterday and remark of team Leader Scott. Apologized and had my battery replaced and stem in tire replaced at no charge. Kudos to Eric for being warm and compassionate to this old lady. Tire and Battery Department at Sam's Club Canton MI #6666 is no place to go for your tire needs. Thank you Mr. Merryweather. Team Leader Scott is no example for the technician or the department. He needs retraining on sensitivity, respect, compassion, empathy for other Humans. Scott Team leader of Tire and Battery needs to be retrained in customer service. Not fired but retraining. I thought I would try this location since Farmington Hills closed. I give this two stars since the people who eventually helped me out very kind and really did try to make things right. The management must be a dumpster fire there. I did Click and Pull at the FHs location all the time. No one at the Southfield locations could/would tell me were to go to collect my items. I had paid online. I checked in via the phone app. It took me over 45 MINUTES to get my stuff and go. Seriously? Farmington Hills was seamless. Sam's Club, my shopping experience was a cross between the DMV at 12 pm on a Friday and getting a root canal with all the ambiance of a Mad Max set. The dimming down the lighting to1/3 power made the whole store look like a post apocalyptic flea market. Going to try the Novi store next. It will be faster to get to and hopefully my pick up time won't morph into just under an hour. read more

I went to Sams on 8 mile Rd because it was conveniently located. I only needed three items, half and half, eggs and mini-tacos all three were out of stock. My son said maybe there had not been sufficient time to restock after Easter. I went back a week later and the items were still out of stock. Is this location being closed? I took back cans for return of deposit, the machines were closed. I was told to take them to customer service in the front of the store. The line was ridiculously long and the lines at the to pay were even longer. Needless to say I left the store. This location is closer to where I live, but I'm very hesitant to come back. There is terrible and inefficient organization with lengthy lines and bakery order deadlines that apparently do not matter. I'm ready to pick up my 10am cupcake order that I placed last week, called last night to confirm the order was set for pick up tomorrow, it's 10:50 and I'm still waiting. This is even before I need to wait in line for check out. I'm very frustrated. It wasn't worth the savings because I lost so much time. The lady standing in front of me is upset because they messed up her order and had to come back and she's missing her party to pick up the replacement cake. The gentlemen who picked up his order 20 minutes ago had to come back to pick up a barcode that wasn't on his order before he could leave. What is happening. Why isn't someone doing that for him? Update, I went to the manager to get checked out since I didn't want to wait in line. I'm out at 11am for my 10am pick up. Very disappointed. My best advise, pick up your orders in advance. The service is mediocre at best. I have had problems with each visit I've had at Sam's Club. They lost my cake order slip and didn't have my child's birthday cake ready on the party date. Staff in the bakery were rude and didn't apologize. The exterior of the store lacked attention and looked a mess with trash overflowing. Pricing could not keep me going to Sam's Club because the experience is horrible. Store Manager never contacted and I even tried the corporate office for help. I ordered and paid for pop and water for a large 2,000 person fundraiser a week in advance. 1 1/2 hours before I was scheduled to pick up the order the morning of the event, Sam's sent an email informing me that they didn't have the 60 cases of watered I needed. Needless to say, I didn't check my email until after I arrived. The staff wasn't friendly and had no apology for not having the water I paid for. We had to scramble at the last minute to make other arrangements. Horrible experience at this store. Who doesn't love a bargain especially in the large size LOL. I find myself at Sam's Club weekly not just to fill up on patrol. I've bought my tires here for years. They have a great selection of eyeglasses and the exam is reasonable for members. Wherever I find myself on the road I know that I can go to Sam's Club and find what I need. Even seasonal items seem to be here before they hit the regular stores. I think Sam's Club actually set some Trends because you can find things for Thanksgiving right around Halloween LOL. This is where anyone who has a pantry needs to venture. Tasty Tuesdays are always the treat that result in too many things in my cart. I found new products that I would never have tried because Sam's Club is introducing them through sample day. I love to get my fresh rotisserie chicken right out of the oven still warm and rush home to make a sandwich. I have to imagine that Hell has better customer service. I called to check on stock of an item that sam's website said they had it. After waiting 5 minutes, I decided to drive to the store while I was on hold. 2 of the 3 people at the Member Services counter were chatting with each other. The lady who was actually talking to customers said "we don't have it" without even checking her computer. She the paged some guy, who said "we don't have it". As I type this in the parking lot on my way out, I'm still on hold. I think the "Happy To Help" on all of their name badges is meant to be ironic. To be fair, I had an almost identical customer service experience at the Madison Heights store before I tried this location. I won't be renewing my trial membership. read more

I've shopped here a couple of times and you can't go wrong with Sam's Club. Buy all of your essential food items in bulk for a cheaper price. Not to mention great deals on non-food items as well. You can't beat that! Sam's Club also has a free sample table in almost every section of the grocery area so you can get a taste of what you're buying or might be interested in getting. The bakery is awesome. If you're the type to buy cakes often, I suggest coming here! They have a large selection and the cakes are so rich and delicious for a cheap price. I got big sheet cake for only $19.99 for my nephew's birthday party. I went to Kroger earlier that day and theirs was more than twice as much. Keep in mind that this is a membership store. You have to have a membership card, which is either $100 or $40 ( I would suggest the $40) depending on the type you buy. I believe you have renew it every year. You can't shop here unless you have a card or you're with someone who has one. The security actually stop you at the door to check. You can fill out the application and they take your picture and your card is made right then and there. It's worth the cost because you'll be saving more in the long run if you're a frequent shopper. read more

This Sam's Club has horrible customer service. The lines are always long, even if you come in the middle of the day. If you call and ask for customer service they will just leave you on hold. I have come up there to get a replacement card, only for the customer service rep to tell me their machine was not working. I asked her when it would be working. She was extremely nonchalant and said that she didn't know. When I told her I needed a replacement card to get gas she shrugged her shoulders and said "M'am we don't have control over our equipment breaking down, its a computer". She did not care about my inconvenience; she did not even try to offer a solution. Also, watch your purse if you go here. They have had problems with theft in the parking lot. People have had purses stolen out of their carts. This is why there is usually a policeman outside the door, even during the day. It's pretty sad that I have to drive 20 minutes out the way to another Sam's club just to get good service. read more

I have an event to run in about an hour, but I felt the need to take time to write this review after looking at some of the one-star reviews on this location. I ordered some party platters online for pickup at the store. Unlike (apparently) one of the one-star reviewers, I followed the very simple and detailed directions for pickup. a) I asked for a text message when my order is ready - I got it. b) The text message told me to text "A" when I arrive at the store - I did. c) Got one more text immediately following telling me to text "IN" or "OUT". d) I texted "OUT" and within 5 minutes a very polite and friendly employee was bringing my trays to my vehicle. This is only my second visit to the store, but each time the employees have been helpful and courteous. Instructions clearly tell you to use text messaging OR download the app. We must stop getting mad because a) we don't want to bother following instructions, or b) our favorite location was shut down and we're mad about having to go to the "ghetto" (as one reviewer called it) or c) we bought meat that was past the sell by date and actually ate it anyway, or d) a store knows how many orders it can accommodate and we're made because they won't try to squeeze ours in with their other customers who had already placed their order and gotten a commitment. Summary: I had read these negative reviews before picking up my order today and they had me afraid of what I would experience. My experience was very pleasant. This is the worst SAMs club I've ever been in. I went to check out a new laptop that I was interested in. There were three employee standing around having an inappropriate conversation. Not one of them asked if I need help. My husband got angry and asked if they were working, the one guy responded that they work in the cell phone area only, but he can get someone to come help us. The guy finally came over and asked if we needed help, he couldn't answer my questions at all. Needless to say we went to Best Buy and made our purchase. read more
