I love this place! The membership turns off a lot of people, but the money you save is huge compared to what you pay them 1 time a year. The scan and go feature is incredible and easy to use. You just scan your groceries while you walk around and you can pay on your phone before you even leave the store. You walk out and someone used their scanner to check your cart, and you typically never even have to stop. I love how Sam's has brands I'm familiar with but it feels like you pay the price in other areas. The meat department is not nearly as impressive as Costco prices but otherwise most things are pretty similar. I do find the customer service at Sam's to be 10x more friendlier than Costco (specifically Rusty Road). Service is always great and people are so friendly. I definitely recommend shopping here!!! read more

I came in this morning with an unopened air fryer to return, as my plans changed and it is no longer needed. The lady at the returns desk took the receipt, handed it back to me with no expression as she told me "This is not a receipt." It said "self checkout receipt" at the top, had 8 items on it, and one was a $149.99 air fryer. I showed her the item, and then she wanted to be SURE I hadn't opened the box. WTH. I was unimpressed. I have worked in customer service for 35 years, and this is NOT the way to treat a customer. No smile, confrontational, and I am still annoyed 12 hours later. read more

I adore the Sam's Club in Lemay; everyone there is incredibly friendly. My go-to item is their rotisserie chickens - unbeatable at just 5 bucks. Honestly, they taste fantastic. While they may not be as plump as Costco's, they have a far superior flavor. Costco's rotisserie chicken tends to leave a strange aftertaste. I consistently find better bargains at Sam's than Costco. The Members Mark beer batter cod fish is a personal favorite - a few minutes in the air fryer and it's a winner. Essentials like eggs, milk, and cottage cheese are affordably priced. They also offer a great selection of spices, and the Members Mark olive oil is both good in quality and lasts a while. read more

The reviews that were negative were for masks and a service for them to put your order in your trunk. As a Sam's Club member and Costco member, who has visited locations all over the United States, this Sam's Club is clean, stocked and I use the Scan and Go because I know in the current labor shortage, this is the fastest option. I am in and out, they have a pharmacy, great selection of baked goods, fresh meats and clothing. They have even been better with their rotisserie chicken, which used to be a little touch and go for a while with availability. There is ALWAYS a line for the gas, but so is at Costco, and its because its the cheapest and we are so close to the IL border; if you don't want a line, go to the Wentzville or the Illinois Sam's. read more

I go to this Sam's once month to pickup my meds and doing some shopping while I there and every time I got the Pharmacy Dept is outstanding and the store always looks nice and if you need any help the staff is very helpful, love going there once a month always a great experience, keep up the good work, see you and the end of the month. read more

I love Sam's Club but recently I have been very disappointed that I have had to travel further to other locations and buy more at a time than what my budget usually allows, on formula for my son because the last 3 times I have gone to this location to purchase, they were out. We buy the Members Mark because it is a great brand and a great deal. When we went last night there was not one container of the Member's Mark brand formula on the shelf. I called another location and they told me they had 54 containers available. While my husband was working near St. Charles, they had about 65 containers available. This location doesn't seem to have as much inventory as the other locations, and unfortunately it is the closest one to my house. read more

I have a plus membership which means I pay extra to access the club earlier. I arrived at 930 and was told I wasn't allowed in because it was for essential personnel. I asked if teachers were considered essential and the woman told me no and to come back in 30 minutes while I had 2 babies in the cart. I think hours for essential people are great BUT I am paying extra to be a part of a club. I value all essential workers. Whether a teacher is considered essential is currently a political debate which I'm not going to entertain currently ;-) BUT as a parent with a 1 year old and 2 year old in the cart, just let me in. By the time I get them both back In their car seats - I'm not coming back. Again, I didn't know the essential personnel hours. Maybe Sams should have sent out an email stating these and reimburse me for the plus membership I'm paying for. read more

I normally have great experiences at this SAMs club, but while i was in their this evening there was an entire family (3) not wearing masks. If it was one person I would assume they had a medical condition. But the fact it was multiple people all together makes me think otherwise and this is very disrespectful to other customers. I noticed there was a sign outside before entering the store that requires everyone in the building to wear a mask so I'm not sure how or why this occurred. If the workers are wearing them out of respect i believe everyone should be and this was disappointing to see. read more

Another very nice location here. When we travel we try to always stop at a local Sam's for fuel and to pick up a few things along the way. This was a very nice store well arranged, stocked and clean. This Sam's location put in nice new refrigerated food units a few months ago. This allows them to put many more products on display than was possible in the past. For some reason they have been unable to put prices on 2 items: Pot Roast and Irish Stew. It's a mystery. SAMs Clubnow puts pricing labels on items for sale on the top shelf of these cases. You'd think a Sam's Club is a Sam's Club, but that's not been my experience. This is the one in South County right off I-55, so it's the closest to my house. But it's a little dingey, and the selection doesn't seem to be as broad as the one in Brentwood or in O'Fallon, IL. The people working here are really great, friendly and fast checkers; it's just that sometimes I go expecting to find something and they don't have it. That hasn't happened to me at the Brentwood Sam's Club. That said, it's a fantastic bargain on many things. My favorite thing to stock up on at Sam's are the on-the-vine tomatoes - they are the best grocery store tomatoes I've ever found - and the big tubs of Sabra brand hummus. I go through the small ones way too fast so it's great to get a couple of large tubs when I come. I also use their house brand laundry detergent, stock up on trash bags, and they sell huge packages of nuts - almonds, walnuts, and pecans - for very cheap compared to buying the small packages. read more

Anyone who's anyone and lives in South County is at Sam's Club on Saturdays! Spread the word!! I have been a member of Sam's Club for many years now. I have entertained the idea of switching to the other competition but Sam's Club seems to always win me over. I like knowing that I can find my staple items usually in the same place each time. They usually have their very friendly staff out on the weekends, ready to share with you a sample to get the ideas swirling for a new recipe. They recently added self checkouts which is awesome on the weekends when the place is packed. Be sure to check out the cafe. They have ample seating and you can get a something yummy while you wait the crowd out or just relax before you head on to your next adventure. Sam's Club has a forever member in me. Lets just be theoretical and say your best friend is having a meltdown after 7 days of quitting tobacco, what do you do? Well I took him to Sams Club with the promise of ICEE's. Low and behold, right at 8:20 we snuck through the door with 10 minutes to spare. The lady at the front told us to hurry but we let her know "we got this, were here for cheap icees." Now the only downside to this was I wanted a churro but was under the impression only Costco carried the cinnamon staff of God but i was informed Sams does have them. Having said that they were out. I didn't know they had them so no harm no foul this time but if youre out next time im bumping this fucker down to a 2 star review. In short, my tobacco addicted friend got a cheap (and potentially life saving) blue icee for less than a dollar. That alone is worth 4 stars in my book. read more

I have taken a while to write this so that I did not sound like a crabby person. I picked up a curbside order from Sam's Club. Husband normally unloads the car while I put away. A day or so later he says, didn't we order (names the product). Yes we did, and we got charged for it. (that is a whole nother problem with curbside pickup--if the product is out of stock, you are not notified, but charged. It may take up to a week to have the charge removed...but I digress) So I call the Sam's Club we use. Explain to customer service that the product we ordered was not received, is it out of stock and I'll be getting a credit? No, product is in stock, let me transfer you to curbside pick up. Thats where I waited and waited and waited (20++ minutes) until I hung up. I've contemplated moving my business to Costco (both are close by) and each time Sam's provides poor customer service (kinda on a regular basis lately) just nudges me to Costco. (and I'm also aware Costco has issues) So come on Sam's get your act together please. read more

Regarding: Optical Department I went to this eye dr. for a few years, he did a great job. The prices and frame selection are awesome. No complaints there at all. But I had the following experience that was very frustrating: I made an appointment one month in advance on a day when I had several other doctor appointments so I was taking the whole day off work. Well, I showed up for my appointment and the lady says the doctor isn't in on Thursdays. But I was given an appointment on a Thursday? So to be nice I said "well, I guess I could have written it down wrong," but let me assure you, I had not. Just very unlikely. Her response was "yeah, I guess you did." Then she checked the system to look for my appointment and conveniently, all the appointments had been wiped out of the system. Then she informed me that my appointment was probably for the day before, Wednesday, and that there had been several no-shows that day. Hmm... lets do the math: Several no-shows, me here today for my Thursday appointment, and the system happens to be wiped out. To me, it's obvious that someone made a mistake, scheduled a few people for Thursday instead of Wednesday, and tried to ditch the evidence. That's one thing, but to keep blaming me, not offer to reschedule, nor apologize, was just really frustrating. This appointment was my ONLY morning appointment. I could have worked that morning and easily made it to my last two appointments in the afternoon. I do not take my work vacation days lightly. Is it the end of the world? No. But I thought it was pretty poor form. That mixed with their inconvenient hours and location (for me), I'm going to try another eye dr. for a while and see how it goes. Selection is ok, all Sam's have different items due to their demographic surroundings. Which us why the west county has more higher end items than south county. The line configuration for the gas pumps can be annoying your first few time using the pumps at this location. read more

This is a great store & deserving of 5 stars except for the vision care department. The Optometrist was pleasant, the 2 associates seemed helpful. This was my first experience with glasses, I trusted them to guide me through. They helped me pick out 2 pairs of glasses (one was sunglasses). When they came in the glasses were ill fitting (I had to rig them to stay on) & the prescription hurt my eyes. I called several times & was ultimately told that they could not be sure there was a problem until I wore them for at least 2 weeks straight allowing my eyes to adjust to the correction. I was unable to do that because of the eye pain & headaches. I gave up. Finally 8 mos later I got a printout of my prescription & took it elsewhere. Turns out the Sams Club prescription was wrong & the gals that "helped" me should have better advised me to a smaller pair or at least adjusted them to fit better on my face. After getting a new prescription & new properly fitting glasses elsewhere I was able to adjust to the correction effortlessly & immediately. read more
