I bought a membership because my daughter lives in Binghamton and she needed to buy items in bulk at a cheaper prices than the supermarket. Normally i would choose Costco bit there are no stores within the area of SUNY Binghamton. Walking in and getting the membership was quick. However, walking around the store reminded me of Walmart. I said that to my wife and she reminded me that Walmart owns them, the store seems somewhat empty for a Friday morning but we got a few things. I will say that after being a Costco member since 1997, Costco's are a shopping experience at every level from groceries, tires, vacations and cell services. I did not get the same feeling here at Walmart but this membership will do for now. read more

So placed an order for delivery Feb 28 to Sams Club. Paying a shipping fee. They deal with a company called AIT Worldwide Logistics. I will not be getting my order for over 2 Weeks. The company will then call and make an appointment for delivery. I have tried to contact them to set it up during my hours I am awake, as my phone is in do not disturb when I sleep(night shift work) They will not take a pre-contact call to just deliver the item. And if I do not answer when they decide to call- whenever that may be--- they will deliver it at a later time. I am 100% dissatisfied with this experience. And will never order any product from a company that utilizes this third party delivery service. I can't even call it a service. More like a DISSERVICE. Sam's Club you gotta do better. read more

I ordered 2 items for pick up. Booked noon-1PM for pick up. Everything was good. Was at pick up at area at 12:30PM. Associate (a woman) asked if I received email confirmation the items were ready. I said I only received the order confirmation. The associate then said in a VERY condescending manner "that is not what I asked" and proceeded to tell me they were 2 hours behind due to being short staffed. I offered to go onto the floor and get the items, essentially doing their job. The associate said I could not do that and instead would have to cancel the order and I can then purchase them like normal. The store needs to work on their associates customer service skills. That associate was having a rough day, but being so vile to customers doesn't solve that. She makes me want to never shop at Sam's Club again. They should also provide notifications when they are behind. Do better, Sam's Club. read more

Holy smokes - worst and I do mean the very worst...customer service on the planet! I remember 20 years ago you never had to look for help..there were associates everywhere...today...you can't even find someone to help you ring out. Went to purchase 3 simple items around 6:30pm...get in and get out....unfortunately, they had (1)..that's right...(1) register open that had a living..breathing human at it....and of course there was a line for that one open register.  Now....I get it they are trying to cut cost...but Sam's seems to have forget...that WE PAY to shop at their locations....so we expect some gosh damn human interaction.  So went over to the automatic check out...started to scan my items...and a associate comes up and says "hi...let me help you"...they started to push the button to UPGRADE to the more expensive Plus Membership.  I asked her...what are you doing?...She said "helping you save money" I explained that's not saving me money...I do not need that upgrade....she tried to tell me all the wonderful benefits...and I explained...well If it the membership included a live check out person...sign me up now. She walked away mumbling. I went to pay...and guess what...the automatic register machine...does not accept cash..which is what I normally use for payment.....had to get assistance..2 minutes standing there waiting...she returns....I explain I pay with cash...and said...well these machines only take cards...and I explained...yes I was able to figure that out all on my own....even though there is NO SIGN on the machine...She said..well there is not sign on this one...but the one over from it has a sign...and I said...no kidding...but guess what....I am not at that machine am I?  She canceled my order and told me to go to the register to pay with cash....I said...yes the one with a line...there only one open....she said..well go to the cashier next to her...her signs CLOSED...but she will ring you out.  OK...did that...as soon as I got to the cashier...I said "hello how are you?"  The cashier pointed at the sign and said "This register is closed" No return hello....just a basic..go f yourself. At this point...I had enough. I yelled "screw this...I will spend my money someplace else...god damn ridiculous I have to ring myself out at someplace I pay to shop at! Sam's Club was so awesome back in the day....now they are a shell of what they use to be and the customer service is COMPLETELY NON EXISTENT When is a Costco coming to our area? It cannot happen fast enough at this point. read more

Vestal Sam's Club is the worst store in the chain. I have been a member for many years and have been shopping there once a month. Today I wanted to buy a 1000.00 Gazebo the Store manager Theresa was not able to check the item for me to see if she had one in stock as I spoke to her on the phone then she proceeded to laugh at me. I have never been talked to or treated so poorly when all I want to do is spend money. I will never step back into the Vestal store again. Veery poor customer service. read more

If I could - I would give less than 1 star. My mother and I went today - walked in - clean and organized. The first aisle we walked down - an associate - apparently on lunch break - had pulled a sofa for sale in the middle of the aisle and was relaxing- pretzel, hot dog and drink. I believe he was talking to a girlfriend but from the nature of the conversation, I rushed my 13 year old daughter past. Only 2 lines open so my mother and I with separate carts scanned on the app. My 75 year old mother went to check out and an old card was in her system. She had the new one but asked for assistance (I was still shopping). The checkout associate told her to step aside. He didn't have time (not busy) - and told another associate to deal with the "old lady". The second young man was very nice and helped. When my mother went to leave - the first associate scanned EVERYTHING in her cart - to "make sure she wasn't stealing" in front of my daughter and others. When I went to check out my card (store card) was tagged for fraud because we travel. I handed my ID- and was told they could do nothing. If I couldn't pay - out it back. After 45 minutes in an aisle on with customer service it was straightened out. No biggie - go to leave and they scan EVERYTHING in my cart to make sure it was OK due to my mom. Now we are retired military - my husband is on contract. We travel and I appreciate the security but the most humiliating experience - we bought over $800 worth of merchandise. NEVER AGAIN - this was the worst store! read more

Went to Sam's Club to get tires this morning and they wouldn't take me cuz I didn't have an appointment. They wouldn't even try to fit me in! Sadly they not only lost the money I would have spent on tires but also the money I would have spent shopping and that is always several hundred dollars. 11/01/2018 I Purchased four new tires online and was notified via email they came in, I go there this morning and now told I need an appointment for installation even though nowhere in there store says you need an appointment for installation. Then I said I would buy them and take them elsewhere and then he Stated they take walk-ins but you have to leave the vehicle but no guarantee it'll get done. What kind of garbage is that? I'm now waiting for a manager and going on 30 minutes currently it's 7:56am. I am a business member. So. 8:00am two managers come over to talk with me a gentleman named Jeff and a woman I don't know remember her name. Tell me the same that this is the industry standard for buying tires and you need an appointment. Gee nowhere on Sam's club website or in the store does it state this and I pointed that out and was told they don't have to advertise that to inform their members. This place has been mismanaged since I can remember! I don't know where to start displaying my unpleasantnesses about this place. Let me start with how every year, they automatically charge my business for the plus rewards membership, without asking! Every year, $108! The staff turnover is ridiculous, probably because they pay and treat employees like shit! I know, because I know several employees that have and still work there. Finally, because I'm out of time, I can't stand the solicitation of bullshit when I walk in and out of this place! From the Direct TV guys trying to sell me direct TV every time I walk in there, to the people outside trying to sell you their bullshit! Soon, I'm going to snap on the manager, but it won't do any good, because he hates his job too, and probably won't be there very long. I wish a Cosco would open up across the street or next door, but I'm afraid the same mutant employees would just be working there, just like the ones here at this Sam's! read more

Found out from 2 separate employees that the hamburger specified "as ground fresh daily" in signs all over the store comes to them pre-ground in bulk tubes (maybe even frozen, not sure). They then re-grind it and package. Very deceiving. Also, on several occasions I start using a product and find that they no longer handle it. read more

I was really surprised when I bought a bag of King Arthur flour in this store and then went to Walmart and bought the same one for 50 cents less. I went back to the Sam's Club manager and told him and he said, "we don't compare prices because we are the same company". Well, there is something wrong with that! You charge your customers to join your club and then charge them more for a product that your company sells at another store within the same mall. That's crazy. Sams automotive section is a joke. I went in for 4 new tires in Nov of 2012 and I have had to go back a total of 7 times to fix the issue they caused. They broke my tire sensor. And one of the mechanics stole the bag of change I had for my daughters bake sale and when I confronted the manager he had the guts to say I never had the money in my car! Well when he took me to the back to show me there was no change bag and I had lost my mind guess what we found?! My blue and pink change bag!!! I will never go back to this place. I bought 4 tires from Sams for Vehicle Jan '013. When I went to drive home the tires were so out of balance that I didn't dare drive over 40mph. They rebalanced them and it still shakes. They claim it's the van not the tires. I told them the van didn't shake before, just needed new tread. Took it to another shop and they balanced them right. Thanks for nothing Sams. Terrible service at automotive department. Went 3 different times and they don't have employees there to perform the work. I spoke to the manager Spencer who was very rude and then gave me the wrong number to call and file a complaint. When I confronted him about giving me the wrong number he laughed and acted as if he was glad he wasted my time. I will never go there again. I am an employee of this terrible place and when i gave a one star rating it was only because you cant give negative star ratings. We as employees are treated like dirt, underpaid, and overworked because management doesnt want to hire enough people to run the store properly. They only care about upgrading memberships and will treat you terribly as an employee if you do not get members to upgrade. i have a family to support and have been written up several times for taking lunch 1-2 minutes later than what i am supposed to which only happened because i was working with members at the time of my lunch. I am now to the point where if i get one more write up i will be fired which is what the management of this club wants anyways because they don not want to have to give employees insurance which you are not even offered until you have worked for the company for a year. The club is terribly understaffed because the less employees they have to pay the more money it looks like they are bringing in. As an employee i can tell you i am often stuck in departments which are nkt my assigned area and have no idea what i am doing or how to properly help the members. We the employees and you the members do not matter at all to the management of this club, all they want is for you to upgrade your membership because it makes them look good. And as employees we are disposable there is always someone looking for a job and it doesnt matter how hard you work if you dont get those upgrades you are no good to them. If you are looking for a good secure job and have a family to support i strongly recommend staying far far away from vestal sams club because job security and a livable wage here are a huge joke. And if you are a member of this club im sure you have seen how understaffed the club is, how unhappy the employees seem, and how badly the club is managed. I have heard rumors that a costco is opening in the area which i hope are true because they actually treat employees like people instead of trash that can be thrown to the curb if they are not getting members to upgrade. You would not believe the amount of member complaints i get every day and i get mistreated by the member because they think i dont know how to do my job, its not that i dont know how to do my job its the fact that we arent trained well, we arent treated well and we dont care about trying to do good for our store because we get no benefit from going above and beyond. read more
