Where else can you still feed a family of four for about $10 or less? The food isn't top tier obviously and the counter worker had a minor conniption because he had to make us three sundaes at once, but he managed to persevere through his complaints of exploitation. On weekends when we are between trips and trying to save some dough but our kids don't feel like they had a 'day off' unless they eat a meal prepared by someone other than me, this has become my go-to. "Let's go to Sam's for lunch" is met with cheers and celebration and so for that, I am grateful. read more

We shop here once or twice a month along with 1/2 the planet. I like coming here for the hot food counter. Best deal in America is the one slice and drink special for $2.50. Bottomless drink and a huge slice of good pizza. Now granted, timing is everything because the line for ordering can be quite long. We opt for mobile ordering and skip with long lines and waiting. 10/10 for mobile ordering food here. The pizza is very good. Plenty of toppings and always cooked right. Love it. As far as the shopping experience goes, it's hit and miss. They usually have what we need. My biggest issue are the other customers. Not all of them just the ones who have no manners or rudely park themselves in the middle of an aisle successfully stopping the flow of shopping traffic in BOTH directions at the same time. Also, you'd think people hadn't eaten in a week how they hawk any and all free samples to like it's the Hunger Games. If you can grit your teeth and ignore the stupidity around you, you can get some great deals and stock up. We love the rotisserie chickens. I get a ton of pulled chicken as well as make 3 quarts of bone broth all for only $4.98. You need this. The store is fairly clean but it IS a warehouse venue. I also champion the "scan and go" app to avoid the long checkout lines and it's exactly how it sounds. I'm you scan your own items, pay online and proceed to the exit. If your receipt and cart gets checked buttons a minor thing compared to standing behind someone in line with $800 worth of stuff in their cart. All in all I do look forward to our trips here. I've had a membership with Sam's for a few years now. So far I've never encountered a problem here. They usually have everything I'm in need of, the aisle's are well stocked and the store is clean. Today I went in, and this sweet young lady name Janicia taught me how to use the Scan and Go app, and it saved me $6. I was very impressed. Trying to call the Winston-Salem North Carolina store do you think they would answer she picks up the phone or he picks up the phone and all you hear is them talking cussing in the background. I wanted to speak to a manager because of chicken that we purchased is bad. This happened at food Lion as well they get their chicken from the same people which is Tyson chicken. The only thing that saved this trip was the 2 associates I dealt with were very nice the supervisor was not and the corporate call center that made the appointment and told me everything was in order lied and I drove over an hour back and forth for nothing. In store just said "yeah they say a lot of things and change things but we don't know, so sorry" overall this isn't the first time I've had issues with supervisors and with the call center bc they don't answer phones at the store so things like this can be avoided. We usually go to Greensboro Sam's but we decided to go to the one. First mistake was walking in the door. To the blond lady who had "door duty/verifying membership"/ next time lose the attitude/speak differently/or get another job because customer service is not your career. I walked in- she stops me and says "card please" I'm looking like she's speaking French because I've never had to show mine ever, so as I get my purse open to get my card out, I say "what do people do if they don't have one?" She precedes to say "they don't get in". Sam's Club, this is not a response you need to have your employees to relay to customers. What if I didn't have one? She could've said "you may go to our customer service desk, they can help you there", so many other ways to handle that. Upon leaving, my family member got stuck in the door way with another employee who was verifying the items in our buggy since we had several receipts. My tires were in desperate need of replacing, due to dry rot from sitting and being unused during the COVID-19 pandemic. I shopped around and found the best deal and tires for my vehicle were at my local Sam's Club. While it was not easy getting anyone on the phone, once I did connect with Dillon at the Tire & Battery center, he was very professional, knowledgeable and patient as I expressed my concerns and asked questions. My service was relatively quick (about 45 mins.) and he even offered to drive my vehicle to me, versus having me walk around the building. I was initially frustrated at not being able to contact the department, and nervous about the quality of service I would get. However, Dillon helped me to put all of that aside. I've been ordering cakes for a while now, and unfortunately, they haven't been what I ordered, even when I order designs that only appear in their order book. Today I had the worst experience ever. I tried to place an order for the first week of August, and the cake decorator apparently wasn't in the best mood. She treated me horribly; she was somewhat rude to me. She didn't take my order, and when I told her I wanted to speak with the manager, who is very kind girl, she told me to come back another day if I wanted to talk to the manager because she didn't comw to work and she is by herself and not have time to waste today. Then she turned around and, for some reason, started arguing with the other employees there, swearing at them. Apparently, she disconnected the bakery's phone, and the employees turned it back on. I quickly left the place because I'm not one to confront problems, and I called the Sam's Club on University Parkway. They kindly took my order over the phone without any problems. This employee always behaves the same way. Months ago, she treated my mother very poorly, and the guy (manager) who helped us after what happened used the excuse that the employee was pregnant. To my surprise, today the employee is no longer pregnant and continues to provide the same terrible customer service. Unfortunately, they've lost us as customers. I hadn't been to Sam's in a few years but was sucked back in by a free year membership. It was $45 but they also credited me in $45 worth of merch, so it was seemingly worth doing. I have been reminded why I dislike Sam's. $300 later, you have the illusion that you're saving money by buying in bulk, but you're really not saving all that much. And now you have to find somewhere to hoard all this stuff, so unless you have a doomsday bunker or garage just begging to be filled with all the world's toilet paper (not again!), you might as well not waste your time and effort. They also have some kind of advanced level membership that they are forced to advertise down your throat as you're trying to checkout and leave. This was my last straw, as I have already paid for this membership only to realize I'm now paying for the privilege to be pitched a higher level membership. I didn't note what the upper tier membership entails because I want no part of this Ponzi scheme, but I did note on the way out that the gas was basically the same price as any other station. Went this morning to the one on Hanes Mall Blvd. around 11am. They had no carts; first thing the associate/greeter said was sorry. She was very kind, AA lady. She explained it to each person as they came in and said a young man was getting carts. She was really nice. I shopped and then went to get pizza at the Cafe. An older gentleman with a limp was so cheerful and happy. He took orders, got drinks and food and just smiled. There was an AA lady and a younger man working there as well. Each of them was smiling and chatting and doing a great job! Disappointed Attempted to use gas vending machine at front of the store. The machine had an error and did not provide tank that I paid for and no receipt showing voided transaction. I went inside to ask for help and the "Customer Service" manager refused any help because it isn't their vending machine. No help with contact information, just excuses. I pay to shop at the store and some "customer" assistance is appreciated when needed. But don't worry, the satellite TV salesman will ask about my TV service and try to sell me something each time I go in the store. Ok so I bought a watermelon for the Memorial Day Holiday 2020. Get home cut the watermelon open and it's mushy and overripe. I call Sam's Club customer service 800 number and they tell me to contact the Club there is nothing we can do. I ordered same day grocery delivery at 6:30am to be delivered between 4-6 pm. 6:30 rolled around and still no grocery delivery, no phone call, my debit card had been charged and no one at the store would answer the phone. Finally after an hour of trying to call, I was able to get someone to pickup only to find out that they were having "3rd" party delivery issues and I would not receive my order after waiting all day and that my refund would have to process and here it is Christmas! Had they called I could have gone to grab the order up myself! We recently joined Sam's Club to give it a try when our Costco membership was coming up for renewal just so we could compare the two superstore chains. The worst experience with shopping there was the cashiers pestering us endlessly about signing up for a premium card membership to the point where they over charged us and or counted items more than once so we had to go through the hassle of getting them to remove the items and finally telling them please stop trying to push your premium membership on us and focus on checking us out! In general the store had an unclean feeling to it and the merchandise was not organized very well so it made it challenging to try and locate items. This is especially true in the grocery section. There was definitely a different feel when it came to the overall interaction with employees; you didn't get a feeling you were very welcome there and again with the over selling at the cash register we won't be renewing our membership. read more

SAMs club is at least a bi weekly shopping trip for us. We have shopped around town and know what is a good deal at SAMs and what isn't as not everything is cheaper and I don't always need a ton of certain products. I love SAMs as they have name brand and SAMs Members mark brand. We typically get Diapers, wipes, and used to get formula, all SAMs brand. The meats are typically cheaper then anywhere in town. Again you have to by in bulk so you have to cook it all or break it down and freeze it. My biggest complaint is customer service and price tags. Items are frequently in the wrong place or they have old sales signs up. It has gotten to the point that we start taking pictures of the prices so we can show staff when we check out. The addition of the self check out is by far one of the biggest improvements at SAMs. It has made getting out much easier. Customer service can be real hot and cold. Today is a good example. I stood in line at customer service for over 20 minutes to pay my bill. When I finally got up to pay it the lady didn't say hello, how are you, or seemed to even want to help me. While helping me she is radio back and forth with someone and then talking to another customer on the phone while "helping me". SAMs is a membership club. I don't choose to shop there I pay to shop there. However the customer service I typically get is that of any big box store. read more

COVID Savety was lacking on my last visit on saturday. No carts available. No one retrieving them from the parking lot. Had to retrieve my own. No sanitation of the cart and the wipes at the door for do it your self was empty. 2 employees at the door, one checking for your card and yelling at people who tried to exit by the cart door looking for carts. The other was telling people to put on a mask. Very worrisome at the lack sanitation guidelines. read more

***Note: This review is for the Deli Bakery**** Because of my love affair with cupcakes and more specifically cupcakes from Sam's, I always order cupcakes from Sam's when I have to provide cupcakes for an event or function! My cake and cupcakes for my doctoral graduation party were even from Sam's and this particular Sam's location. That being said, you can imagine my disappointment when I placed an order this Monday for cupcakes and received subpar service and an incorrect order! First, when I initially placed the order, I repeated my order multiple times. My order was 30 vanilla cupcakes, 15 bright yellow and 15 Royal blue. The bakery associate taking my order kept repeating "light yellow" instead of "bright yellow". At one point, I even spelled the word "bright" because I was trying to make certain that I had bright yellow cupcakes when I picked up my cupcakes on Wednesday afternoon. Fast forward to Wednesday.....I arrived at the Deli Bakery to pick up my cupcakes at approximately 5:09 PM. I immediately noticed my order on the Pick-Ups rack. And guess what? The yellow cupcakes were definitely LIGHT yellow instead of BRIGHT yellow but actually getting them in my hands was going to prove to be an issue! When I arrived, I could see one associate working in the breads and rolls and there was one associate on the phone where you pick up orders. She definitely saw me approach the area but did not acknowledge me. It didn't seem to be a big deal until she continued her phone conversation as if I wasn't there! At one point, she turned her back to me and walked further into the bakery area. I waited....and waited....and waited....until a male associate from the concessions/prepared food area came thru to go to the freezer area to get pizzas to take to the front. He spoke as he was passing thru. After he had loaded up the pizzas, he stopped and said "Ma'am, has anyone helped you?" I replied "No". He immediately apologized. He then proceeded to get my name, grab my cupcakes and give them to me as he exclaimed "I'm so glad I needed to come get some pizzas!" to which I replied "Me too, me too!". The time was now 5:24 PM. And no, I couldn't mention to any Bakery associates that I had requested bright yellow cupcakes instead of light yellow cupcakes because the one associate was still on the phone and the other one was still preoccupied with rolls!! read more

I like Sam's club, I'm a member at both Sams and Costco. I would say Sams is cheaper and decent AND I LOVE their self checkout lines but I would say Costco beats them in terms of quality on some items. I still shop at both but cant beat Sam's price on cupcakes and they taste delicious! read more

We are frequent visitors to Sam's and today we decided to upgrade my wedding band to a tungsten carbide ring valued at $300. After standing there for a bit with the associate's back to us, sh looked at us and quickly turned away. When she finally walked by us, my wife told her we would like to look at aring when she had a minute. I a very snotyy tone, the associate to told my wife, "They were here first, you'll have to wait". I've always gone to Costco instead of SAMs but recently switched due to them no longer taking American Express for payment. It's right across the street so it was easy to make the switch. They have samples to try and also keep it pretty organized as far as the warehouse layout. Just as with Costco, checkout can be time consuming but I don't mind. In the last year I have been greatly dissatisfied with the customer service as well as some of the products mostly being food items. I purchased a number of apple pies, although they looked beautiful they were cooked to quickly to brown fast, but unfortunately the apples are not cooked enough and very hard to chew. Most of the group from 60 to 80 did not even eat the apple pie left on their plate the complaints was as a stated the apples were just too hard not cooked enough. Yesterday I thought I would try the cheesecake, they look wonderful I thought they would be easy for people over 60 to chew and swallow. Believe me I don't even know what that thing was, for sure it was not a cheesecake, it was more like the box kind you buy from the store add milk stir and pour into a premade crust. Number of other items gotten very bad pertaining to food of course. I don't know if they changed food manager, started buying from a new vendor, are they just gotten cheap on their ingredients. A year or so back you could not have beat their coconut cake better than any bakery around town. Now I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole. When my membership runs out this year. I will go across the street to the big "C" and get a member ship. Very disappointed in your change in your food department. read more
