Jose & his team completely transformed our backyard with a full renovation. It was a 5 week job and Jose was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the project. In fact, I can't even imagine another contractor even coming close to his quality of work and attention to detail. We brought Jose plans from a landscape architect and he made some on-site recommendations to improve them, and he kept us informed during the entire time. Each day he would send a text update with what work was accomplished and what was scheduled for the next day. His team cleaned up each day and they clearly enjoy working with one another, and for Jose. His attention to detail and pride in his work is what sets Jose and Diamond Pavers apart from other contractors. He didn't rest until the job was done till not only our satisfaction, but his own very high standard. We had Jose install about 500 sq ft of pavers, artificial turf, build two redwood planter boxes, trellises, install drainage and irrigation, and install a full bluetooth-controlled lighting package. He excavated down about 10" and brought in the correct base layers. He thought of small details we (nor the plans) could foresee and asked for our input throughout. We made several changes along the way and Jose was easily accommodating of them. When we had small minor issues come up after the project was complete (such as irrigation drips, lighting adjustments, etc.) Jose was promptly here with a smile on his face. Our family cannot speak more highly of Jose and he is my first recommendation when friends and family ask. I got more than 5 estimates and research reviews this time cuz I got scammed last time by unlicensed contractor. Then I found the Diamond Paver from BBB.org. 13yrs of business, good reviews, certified license and no complaints on BBB. Also, Jose offered me affordable price and good quality of paver. (It was almost 10K less than the other very famous & huge company that every project manager were different) He planed & advised the big picture than just his job(like planning associated issues - fixed the downspout & sprinkler) and what I need to plan for the street concrete project from city. Jose was the one who told me every steps what they're doing and asked what I want. He always told me what was the best option for cost effective & fulfillment of aesthetic desire. This was our second project with Diamond Pavers -- Jose and his crew knocked it out of the park with this transformation. We wanted to be able to spend more time in our backyard; we had was peaceful, but not very inviting space -- lots of flower garden area, lots of dirt, and a huge amount of decaying woodchips and leaves. I proposed a simple plan -- half pavers and half turf with a sitting wall, using a herringbone pattern. Jose made recommendations on materials and overall design to make the space more appealing -- like curving the paver/turf border. The project spanned 7 days (estimated as 8). The crew of 4 showed up promptly at 7:30 every morning until 3pm -- Jose (the owner/lead) was here most of the time to make sure work was being done right and went above and beyond to help fix and reroute some irrigation. They cleaned up the site before leaving, and the neighbors commented on how respectful they were with not making too much noise or making a mess. 2 of the 3 guys on his crew had worked on my previous project seven years ago, which speaks volumes to how Jose is running a good operation and treats his team well. In 2014 I met Mr. Jose Argueta and he did a nice front step entry, front patio and driveway in pavers. I was really impressed with his men who are very skilled in what they do. They don't rush, they take time to do it right. It was towards Thanksgiving day but they faithfully came during the time of holidays. I love the lights at my front steps and patio. The design is very artistic. They use quality materials. Until now four years passed, my driveway and patio still standing strong, still firm and stronger than cement. I am so happy I decided on permeable pavers than cemented driveway. It was worth spending for it. I won't do it any other way. When I decided to do turf, I thought about Mr. Argueta and closed another deal with him. Mr Argueta is very punctual on his appointments. He tells you exactly how it is done and takes pictures during the process and sends them to you while his men are working. He comes everyday to supervise the work. He is also very nice to his workers. His workers went out of their way to move the soil in preparation of the turf to my backyard just because I asked them. They did not mind doing extra work. We contacted Diamond Pavers a couple weeks ago, with a smallish driveway/path project, and their bid was in line with what we expected. A few other companies refused it because it was too small. They were able to start work surprisingly fast; others gave us dates as far out as November. José and his 2 workers did an amazing job.It was obvious that all 3 had a really good working relationship, and communicated well. They had a large bin for the earth removal delivered to our house, as well as a porta-potty, which really impressed me with their professionalism. Our yard has a grade to it, and they managed to get that pad set perfectly. They put so much work into the curves we had in the design, I even saw them remove pieces and do them again. This was no rush job, and these guys really, really worked. We let them store their equipment in the yard, and they kept it all neat and tidy every day before they left. The huge rainstorm of late October last year caused a large part of the hillside below my garage to slide down onto the street below, threatening my garage. After interviewing a number of landscape contractors and retaining wall specialists I hired Jose with Diamond Pavers to do the job. He was extremely knowledgable, his communication skills are great and his price was reasonable. They did a lot of excavation and compaction and then used a Versa-lok decorative block (on a footing) that is locked together and also anchored back into the hillside with Geo-grid with compaction of every layer. It also has a great drainage system and filter fabric. It was a tricky job being right on a narrow street but they did it safely and carefully with great attention to detail. Jose was fantastic at going over everything with me and asking for my input and his team of guys are fabulous hard workers. Clean up was perfect and there were no added on costs. So I had Jose first help me pave the patio in my backyard and around my house just to test out to see how it will look back in 2010. I figured if it didn't come out the way I pictured it, it would stay hidden in the back of the house behind the fence. It ended up turning out really nice with the synthetic turf I later added in my backyard, so I went back and had him do my front entrance and driveway as well. I told Jose to please help me do the front and driveway in the shortest amount of time possible, since I park all my vehicles inside my garage. Diamond Pavers did a fantastic job with our backyard! We are so happy with the new design and the quality of work. Jose was recommended by a friend, and though we had a couple other businesses come in for a quote, we went with Diamond Pavers. Right from the start we could tell that Jose was very professional and organized, gave ideas/suggestions as we described what we wanted done even during the first meeting. The previous owners of our house installed tiles in concrete covering almost the whole backyard. We wanted pavers instead, and some new planting areas. The demolition process was very fast (2 days), and then Jose brought us samples of the pavers we had in mind, and samples of borders that would go well with the pavers. We had a French drain installed along one fence and a planting area along the other fence. We've recently moved into our house. We upgraded several things and I wanted our front-yard to look nice too. Decided to go with pavers for walkway and porch, and to build side wall and garden bed. I hired contractor that has really good reviews on yelp. Unfortunately, we had to stop our contractor, clearly he couldn't do what we asked and what he advertised on his yelp page. It was very frustrating to look for another contractor, because I'm on maternity leave with a month old baby. I called Jose, he was very quick to respond and gave competitive quote. Jose and his crew were able to start in two weeks and finish in four days. They fixed steps, built side wall and garden wall. Jose came out to bid on a landscape project I had. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication, it was not clear that pavers were not part of the project. He spent 45 minutes each way (due to traffic) all the way out to my place before we found out about the miscommunication. He was extremely nice despite all of this, and he was very honest about what kind of work he was licensed to do and what kinds he was not. I unfortunately never got the chance to work with him, but the fact that he was very communicative and punctual, the fact that he was very honest about his license, and the fact that was extremely nice -- even though he essentially wasted 1.5 hours to visit my place -- go a long way in my book. It is difficult to find contractors who are punctual, honest, and nice, but Jose is definitely one of them! read more

We have long driveway with an irregular stone wall (tapering from about 2 1/2 ft. to 6 ft. high) that had split and was leaning towards our driveway, threatening to collapse. After contacting Mr. Argueta, sending photos, and describing the problem, he was over at our home to give us an estimate in less than 24 hours. He assessed the scale of the problem (big) and gave us a quote, which we accepted. He fit our job (estimated to take 2 - 3 weeks) into Diamond Pavers schedule, so the work could quickly begin. Every day the crew removed a small section of the wall, dug back the dirt and roots that were pushing it forward, and rebuild the wall. At the end of the crew's work day they cleaned up the driveway removing any stones that were not yet in place so my wife and I could use the driveway and park our car behind our house instead of leaving it on the street. The job was completed in two weeks. It looks great! The repaired wall section looks great, blending in perfectly with the older wall sections that did not need repair. Care was taken to rebuild the wall so as much of the moss and lichen covered stones still faced outward which really makes the repair blend in well with what had been the original near 100 year old way. As a retired General & HVAC Contractor I am extremely impressed with the professionalism of Diamond Pavers. Our neighbors had utilized Diamond Pavers for their project and we saw how pleased they were. For our project, Jose offered several excellent suggestions which we incorporated into the final design (including one which lowered the total cost by several thousand dollars). Jose and his crew were prompt and orderly in their work and their attention to detail was impressive. The grading (preparing sub-surfaces) was precise and the final alignment of the pavers was exacting. We are very happy with the result. One final observation: I believe the integrity of an individual or company is not how well a project proceeds but rather what is the response if a problem occurs. (And any contractor who says they've never had a problem is lying or has just started his business this morning.) The day after our project was done and the final payment had been made, one of the sprinkler components failed. (I know enough to be able to determine whether failure was installation workmanship or manufacturer's material failure; in this case it was simply material failure.) I notified Jose of this problem on Saturday of a three-day weekend. He responded within two hours and stayed on top of the repair throughout the weekend! As I stated at the beginning, as a contractor myself, I am extremely impressed and highly recommend Diamond Pavers!!! read more

Holy cow. Jose is fantastic. I called up 2 other contractors for this semi small job. a brick planter that was leaching in water to a garage it was connected to. One guy from a well known local construction company wanted $400 and what he wanted to do to seal it was a joke. The next idiot wanted $1200 to $1500 for an over the phone estimate without even seeing it. Jose from Diamond Pavers came right out on a Sunday and and quoted me $800. The job was somewhat small but needed to be done correctly. Showed up on time with a helper and got right on it. Jose ended up going to a local hardware store twice, first time for product we settled on and the second time because we both agreed the planter could use some rock for drainage. It was amazing how clean they got the brick and concrete surfaces before sealing them. I swear you could of ate off them.Very flexible on making sure it was done how I wanted it and had no problem going beyond on what we settled on because it would make the drainage on the planter better. 100% professional.
