We love Sam's. We always get the burgers. They put 5 Guy's to shame. I only get burgers that are cooked to order and they excel at that. It has to be as rare as possible and even though I make mine more rare at home, they do a good job. The French frys are good, so don't skip them. We also love the nachos and you'll get enough for 2. Even if the chef is a meat eater, he/she should make sure that everything on the menu is great, including vegetarian options. The fries and beer were great, but there is no excuse for a tough tasteless veggie burger in this time of great veggie food. Great food and great service. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and was asked if I wanted chips or fries.. I ordered fries but didn't know there was a .45 charge to get fries instead of chips. Not a big deal but if I were the server, I would have maybe said if you don't want chips, you can do fries for .45 extra. A friend that was with me asked for ranch dressing and there was a charge for that as well. Not a big deal about the upcharge but would have been a better experience if we had been told of the additional charge upfront. My husband and I enjoyed eating here when we lived in Florence several years ago and were happy to see they're still doing a booming business when we visited today. The food and service is still amazing! We arrived at noon and we're seated immediately but the dining area was full. Our waitress, Samantha, was very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. The Santa Fe Chicken was tender and tasty. I substituted the red beans and rice for the loaded smashed potatoes which were a bit cold but still very good. The barbecue sauce served with the chicken is made in-house and needs to marketed and sold in bottles...it's that good! My husband had the fried catfish which he said was good along with the loaded smashed potatoes. We topped off our meal with the chocolate chip skillet cookie which was fresh from the oven and topped with a gigantic scoop of vanilla ice cream and a little caramel sauce. We frequent Sam's often. The food is always good. The servers are friendly, and we always have good service. There are two areas that bother me. First, the floor is always greasy slick (otherwise everything seems clean ). I cannot believe that someone hadn't already fallen and been hurt. Second, the servers need to be directed not to touch the tops of the glasses and the tops of open straws. This strangely happens often. They will hold the glasses with their hands all over the open straws and the rims of the glass. read more

My daddy and I have never been before yesterday, but 2 of my daughters have, so they talked us into going. Y'all, it was amazing!!!! We both had the ribs and it's true, you don't need a knife and fork to get them off the bone, they come right off and the flavor was fantastic!!! As a matter of fact, my daddy said it's the best ribs he's had in a long time. One of my daughters got a Swiss burger that she said melted in your mouth and my other daughter got the Chicken Cajun Pasta and she said it's fantastic! If you've got enough room left, that brownie served in a cast iron skillet with a scoop of Ice cream, is the grand finale. Hope you're lucky enough to get as great of a server as Ryan C. I go to Sam's quite regularly. I am a huge fan of the chicken fingers with barbecue sauce. They have the bar side and the family side. After a very short wait, we got led over to the family side. I wish we had waited for (or requested) a table on the bar side. The family side had a lot of kids. Not that we hate kids, but after a very long and stressful day at work, this was not the ideal place to be. Plus, our waitress was nice and all, but very slow and absent a lot. She was in charge of the 4/5 tables along the back wall (including us) and she would stay gone forever. This was on Friday 13th 2017. The food was really good though and we will be going back again for sure. We have had other waitresses that were amazing, so this one time definitely isn't going to deter us. read more

I was not a fan. I ordered the chicken fingers, I did not like the type of batter they used, they were not crispy, in fact- they were soggy which was even worse. The onion rings were watery, which was pretty gross too... my husband ordered the cajun pizza and he did like his food. The service wasn't too great but the place was clean. Salad came first - not bad. 5-6 chicken fingers were then served on a plate with no garnish and not even a few fries to take up space. Chicken fingers were tasty. This place has nothing new to offer than any other limited menu restaurant and the big screen TVs had no closed captions to follow the sports. See no reason ever to return. read more

I ate here for lunch for the first time today, 10/30/13, and ordered the club sandwich and fries. The food was decent and the service was okay as well but I can't understand why this and other restaurants that feature large screen televisions don't turn on the closed caption.
