Somewhat lengthy, but I will start off with saying that Sam was great! I had a stubborn recurring slow drain from the bathtub that required monthly DIY snaking. This typically involved removing an old repair clamp covering a hole on a drainpipe in the basement. This one last time, after snaking, I over tightened the clamp causing it to crack. I thought maybe it could be replaced. However, Sam, being the professional plumber was going to cut a portion of the pipe and replace it with a cleanout, a lateral screw cap, with an improved option for snaking. But that task lead to the discovery of a bigger issue and a cause for the persistently recurring slow drain. While cutting the pipe, Sam discovered corrosion at the base of the old galvanized drainpipe which caused dirt seepage leading to the recurring issue. As a solution, a new PVC pipe with a cleanout was installed. Afterwards, I ran the water in the shower and was pleased to see it run smoothly through the sewer trap. We used Sam twice now after finding him on Yelp - We'd recently purchased a new property and he helped sort blockages on two different occasions. He called me back straight away and was onsite within two hours, exactly when he said he would be. Our kitchen sink blockage was actually a much bigger job than we anticipated but Sam was able to bring the 'snake' tool and eventually the slightly more industrial 'bigger snake' tool to clear what was a very blocked pipe. Sam explained the process at every step and credit to him and his team as they unblocked it at the last try before we thought we'd need to call in 'an even bigger snake' tool (which is mounted on a truck).... so saved us the additional fee, thanks Sam! And this is why we used him again, to simply unblock our tenants downstairs toilet, again returned my call straight away, was punctual and did the job with no fuss at a reasonable price - I'd recommend Sam every time, nice guy too. read more

My hot water heater stopped working early in the AM and I needed to get it fixed as soon as possible. I came across Sam's yelp review and gave them a call before their business officially opened and someone picked up the phone! I send them a picture of the non-functioning water heater and he texted me a quote and an appointment later that morning! Two workers came by, installed the new water heater and actually modified the piping (improved it) and fixed a leak (an unfortunate incidental) which complicated matters, but it was handled and repaired. From the initial communication through every step of execution, I was given a thorough explanation of what I could expect. I had problems in two drains, in a shower and a bathroom sink. Different tools were used, to great effect, for each drain, since each posed a different problem.
