Went in for lunch with two friends. Place seemed a little small, rundown, and in need of some TLC, but those places can often be hidden gems, so I soldiered on. Service was very polite and attentive. I ordered a plate a fried oysters, fried chicken livers, and fried shrimp. One friend had a fish sandwich, and the other had a gyro. Food took a little longer than expected, and the soda machine wasn't working 100%, but I remained hopeful. Unfortunately my hopes were dashed when my food came. I should say, the shrimp was extremely good well seasoned crispy juicy everything you would want in fried shrimp, and my dining companion really liked the fries that came with his fish sandwich. That's about all the praise I can give it, my oysters were a little gamey, and my chicken livers were absolutely drier than the Kalahari and tasted like fishy sawdust, no amount of hot sauce saved them, and for the first time in a long time I threw out food. The fish sandwich, and gyro also didn't win any awards. They also completely forgot to bring out my friend's dessert. Right as we were finishing up a moldy spot near the ceiling AC vent dripped water right into my dining companions cup, which was just the icing on the cake, which is ironic, because we never got my friends slice of cake. We were introduced to Sam's for the first time from some local friends. We decided to go through the drive-through on our way home this early evening today Sunday, January 11, 2026. We met Mandi who was very kind courteous and welcoming and gave us her recommendations based on my asking for them. The food was excellent! You're mild sauce is fire for the wings! The wings were great.! The shrimp was wonderful and we wanted to send a kudos/shout outto Mandi for being hospitable and kind. I would rate Sam's a 3.5... sometimes my food and service is a 4-star fast food experience (quick and delicious), and sometimes it's not. I visit this restaurant frequently for the chicken. The tenders are really good and a great price. The wings are hit or miss; however, when fried well, they are really good. The side salads are also great options, since they aren't just plain and full of lettuce. Overall, give it a try! Does the job for a quick dinner option in Leesburg. This is a good go to spot. The drive thru is always super quick. I've never had any problems with my orders when I go here, no matter what time it is. I tend to stop by here late, after a party night. The chicken and ranch here is so good. It's hits that right spot that is needed. So get drunk, eat this chicken when you need it. When staying in Leesburg Florida there are some very interesting places to eat at. Sam's should be on the top of your list. This place is clean as can be. The food is cooked to order and very fresh. Hot and delicious! We came in this evening around 630, and let me tell you this place has a steady stream of locals coming in and ordering. Most take it to go, bit we opted to eat in. Although our food was pretty good, I was very surprised that none of the employees were taking ANY precautions regarding food handling. None were wearing masks, hair nets, gloves, etc. The back door was standing wide opened. My husband and I stopped here and I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. It looks like a very typical fast food place but the menu and the food are far from typical! We both had the shrimp rice bowl and it was full of veggies, beans, rice and shrimp, seasoned well, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I ate here a few times when they first opened. Today I went to the drive through and ordered the Fried Shrimp and Onion Rings. I took it home about 3 minutes away. I originally checked the bag and thought I had Cocktail Sauce and Tartar Sauce, it wasn't tartar, it was Ranch. The onion rings were soggy and greasy, I tried to crisp them up in the Air Fryer to no avail, way too much grease. The Shrimp were not quite as bad, but not crispy either and very little flavor. It may look like a fast food place (and it was fast) but the Seafood Platter was as hot, good and fresh as any place I've been. I ordered it fried but you can get it grilled or Cajun also.
