Just returned from Seafood Seller &Cafe. A wonderful waitress named Mackenzie greeted us and when we told her we were newbies she proceeded to tell us about their stuffed lobster with crabmeat and a BOGO special on raw oysters. 2 dozen oysters, clam chowder a stuffed lobster dinner and a bread pudding to go and we left 2 stuffed happy campers. If in doubt give it a try. Ask for Mackenzie. We will return. 10/10 read more

Pros: The food was really good. We had the crab balls appetizer which was excellent. I had the gumbo soup with a side of beans and rice and my wife had the blackened grouper dinner with a side of collard greens and red beans and rice. She said it's the best grouper she ever had. I would definitely return. Cons: Music was way too loud making conversation difficult. The wait staff was not very attentive. Glasses not refilled and used dishes left on the table and they did not check back at all. They need to work on this. This would have been a five star review had these things been remedied. Absolutely outstanding I had a stuffed whitefish it was amazing and the service was well above average. I also found the price is competitive even though we each had a couple of beers. Competitive meaning competitive among good seafood dishes. Eating out is still expensive, but we remember those restaurants that were more affordable and still delivered. This particular seafood seller is larger than the one in Crystal River, which seems to always have a wait and caused us problems before because they're always crowded. Compliments to the chef and the serving staff and the place was clean. On this visit, Ocala approved that they deserve another. read more

Really enjoyed my meal. The gumbo has an authentic tasting roux. The onions were a little firmer than expected in the French Onion soup, but the broth was very tasty. Fish dip is amazing with a spicy kick. Sellers hot steamed shrimp is amazing! It's served with a a nice baguette to dip in the sauce they cook the shrimp in. It has beer, butter and Cajun seasoning. Just tried this gem in Ocala for the first time and couldn't have been more satisfied! We started with the gator tail bites which were delicious! I had the blackened redfish from the daily specials and it was excellent! My husband had fried shrimp which were also excellent! We both had the red skin garlic mashed potatoes, I loved them, hubby's had a little too much garlic for his taste. Oh and I had a "Seller's Hurricane" drink that was wonderful. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was great! We can't wait to come back with our out of town visitors soon! read more

I've been eating oysters nearly my whole life and this was the first time I was I asked how I wanted them fried. They offer light, medium, and hard. Went for lunch. There was a special for $5 off Cedar Key little neck clams. They were fresh and flavorful. They also had a buy one dozen get one dozen free oyster special but the waitress did not know the species of the oysters when I asked, she said Texas so I passed. I stopped in for lunch and was surprised how full the parking lot was. I always take a full parking lot at lunch time as a good sign. After bringing my water my waitress let me know that some customers find the blackened catfish salty sometimes. I appreciated her warning but ordered anyway. Parts were a little salty but balanced with the hot sauce perfectly. When I saw the fired okra it was lighter than I expected and I was a little worried. However, it was the perfect balance of batter allowing the flavor from the okra to still come through. I will definitely add Seafood Seller to my list of stops when I'm in the area! read more

Went to Cajon Jimmy's for our anniversary and honestly wish we had just stayed home. The whole night felt like an afterthought. The place was loud, the service was slow, and it definitely didn't feel like somewhere you'd want to celebrate something special. We waited forever for our food, and when it finally came it was pretty underwhelming. For an anniversary dinner you expect at least a little effort or atmosphere, but this just felt like any random stop on the side of the road. Kind of disappointing when you're trying to make a night memorable. Wouldn't recommend for a special occasion. read more

We went there last night After being to their original location was eager to check it out. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, seating was limited as the restaurant is about 1 /2 the size as the original restaurant. There was a 25 minute wait. Once seated our server was very polite and friendly. She took our drink and appetizer order and they came to our table promptly. The oysters were delicious as well as our meals. The noise level was incredible low considering the restaurant was packed. Definitely worth a visit!! Sorry for no photos but we were having such a great time I forgot to take pictures. read more

This place is out of this world Yummy!! We traveled before to Crystal River to eat here but am so happy that they are in Ocala. We have tried to many of there dishes. Our favorites are the crab balls, stuffed mushrooms and the stuff shrimp. The fish dip is a bit spicy but very good. Have tried daily specials and they have been very good. Beignets are delicious!!! I'd heard some time ago that they have oyster specials now and then, buy one get one free kind of deal. I've gotta look into that because I will probably be there all day. Friendly attentive staff and bartenders. Nice bar and dining area with booths and tables, nothing fancy. Plenty of parking. Food was good, freshly prepared and cooked to order. I'm probably spoiled from dining in New Orleans and Louisiana most of my life but the Cajun/Creole cuisine was nothing special. No complaints, just average in comparison. Prices are reasonable.
