Walked in when I was having quick lunch with a friend who was working in the area, I had heard good things and wanted to try it out, however time was limited. I was sat very quickly, and the place seemed quite popular which was a good sign. Ordered some fried green tomatoes and catfish bites as they were the special of the day. While the fried green tomatoes were very good and crispy, as were my fries, the fish was definitely "questionable". It had a slightly off flavor and smell, I normally would have spoken up, but once again I was in a time crunch. My dining companion really liked his food at least, and the server was fast and attentive. So it wasn't a total loss. We stopped at Fish Camp yesterday after flying down to Florida to escape the snow for a couple of days, and it was exactly the kind of laid-back spot we were hoping for. I ordered the Saturday shrimp special, which lets you choose grilled, fried, or blackened shrimp and comes with coleslaw plus two additional sides. I went with the swamp soup and onion rings. The swamp soup is made with chicken broth, andouille sausage, black-eyed peas, and kale. It was a little on the salty side, but it still had really good flavor. The onion rings were crispy, golden, and downright delicious. For the shrimp, I chose grilled -- and if you're in Florida, why wouldn't you get shrimp? You get a half pound, grilled in garlic butter, and they were tender with great flavor. Easily the star of the meal. Our server was very friendly, and the decor felt like a classic fish camp -- casual, fun, and fitting for the setting. The view overlooking the lake was beautiful and made the whole experience even better. I'd definitely come back if and when I'm back in town. So disappointed! On-line reviews raved about this place. So we drove the 25 minutes to the dockside restaurant to check it out. There were 4 of us. Our server, obviously overwhelmed with too many tables, finally got to us. She was friendly and smiled. But the rubber hits the road when the meals arrive. My table mate's grits were dry. Another dining pal gave his food a thumbs down. My $17 fish dinner was dry and overcooked. Thank heavens for my dipping sauce to partially save the day. I love the old Florida feel of this place. It's on the water so you can admire the docked boats and see the occasional gator swim by. Beyond that, after 3 visits, we gave the food and service, a solid "meh" Food twice was served lukewarm. The swamp soup that I loved the first time I had it, the 2nd time, it was terribly salty and mostly just broth, as if the person dipping the soup, didn't bother to stir and just dipped from the top of the pot. Our last visit the plan was to share an order of the PEI mussels, and an entree. My husband ordered a beer which our server forgot to bring. When reminded, she brought the wrong beer. The mussels were both cold and greatly over cooked, and our server was nowhere to be found. When she did show up, decided to cut our losses, cancelled the rest of the order, paid and left. My favorites are the crab leg dinners, fried okra, salmon, and fresh salads from local farms. Enjoy a great water view, and the menu specials change daily, so you can always find something new to try. They also host really cool themed nights, such as dinner with a show, along with local rotating entertainment. Bring your boat and your pet and enjoy the patio. Randomly found myself here Friday evening. It was a pretty full place and seemed to be popular amongst the locals. I love me some good ol' Florida food and the menu did not disappoint. The cocktail menu was creative, I was tempted to order the "Grand ol' osprey" or the "baby gator" just for the names. They also had a "drain the swamp platter" which included frog legs, catfish and gator. Not a combinations you can get just anywhere. The local salad was a bit underwhelming. Parking next the restaurant is limited and then you are parking on grass lots. Overall I thought it was OK but not great. The food wasn't bad but it just didn't wow me. The onion rings are hand cut and battered but seem to pick up something from the oil they were cooked in. The fries were cooked but had been setting, warm not hot. The wife liked her fish tacos. I thought fish sandwich was OK lot bun to the size of the fish. Key lime pie was more like a cheese cake very thick vs smooth and creamy. The crab cake was very gooey and also lacked any real flavor, the shrimp was okay, slightly overcooked. The portions were very small ( which turned out to be a blessing). One of our party ordered a burger, it was just..okay. Dinner for 3 with 3 cocktails and an appetizer of chips ran us 104$ for a sub-par meal. May get some to-go soups on the future, but I honestly don't see us returning for a meal, which is really disappointing, I was hoping to find a go-to seafood place, this is NOT it. read more

Arrived on a Thursday 1:15p. Preferred sitting outside to the smell inside. Got an outside table within 5 minutes. Ended up seated between a table with a smoker (!) and a heavily perfumed guest. Food arrived in 30 minutes. The fish platter was just okay - smallish portion, on the dry side, weird mustard fish sauce. Ordered tacos in lettuce wrap bcz I'm GF and they only offer flour tortillas. The blackened grouper was juicy but very over salted. Nothing special on the taco fixings. Slaw is heavily coated in thick mayo. Fountain Drinks refilled frequently. I gave the waitress the feedback and she came back with a free GF crepe brûlée dessert offer. Nice! Overall, this is definitely not a restaurant we plan to visit again. read more

We came by after running around the area for a few days. We came in to find $4.99 Margs and Martiinis. It was a great start. We also were seated very quickly by the window to see the sunset. We ordered clam chowder and grouper tacos and fried catfish. The waiter was great in getting our order the way we wanted. Our dinner did not take long to arrive. The chowder was delicious with a bit of pepper added. The fish tacos were also great with dressing that came with them. I enjoyed them all. The catfish was a large portion and we only ate half of it. We went there for breakfast. It was OK food but it's annoying that they're so cheap on certain items. For example there was no toast that came with the omelette. And the kids breakfast could only be scrambled eggs so we had to order à la cart. That's the same thing for the regular breakfast they have that's the special. They also dole out portions of ketchup and pancake syrup with a dropper. Additionally I couldn't get egg whites for my omelette because they were busy. It is hard to give a review when every table but yours is served. Waited over 20 minutes after we sat down. Watched the waiters (4 of them!) fawning over one table.
