    Catfish Sandwich Platter

The food was delicious. The place is very nicely decorated. We ate outside the have a beautiful outdoor patio. It wasn't busy at all but the service was unfortunately slow. If you in the area definitely a place to check out.

This place is on 44 just outside of The Villages - a 15 minute drive from 301. If you are driving to fast you might just pass a great little restaurant. This place was not busy on the night we went and basically had the entire restaurant to ourselves however this does not change my opinion of the food. We ordered one of the Specials - Cherry Stone Steamers. Served on a plate with a small container of the steaming liquid and another container of drawn butter. The Steamers were of nice size and when dipped in the steaming liquid tasted of wine. This is one of those Specials you can take it or leave it. Also ordered - Grouper Dinner, Crab Cake Dinner and Scallops Dinner all served with your choice of potato (Baked or Sweet) and your choice of Coleslaw or Salad. We all selected Coleslaw which was very good - kind of like KFC but better and you know it's homemade. Our server stated the Coleslaw has been made daily for the past 20+ years. Also served with dinners Hush Puppies. All of the food was served HOT, which is a rarity these days and good. The Grouper was prepared Grilled with Lemon Pepper seasoning. The Crab Cake dinner was full of Crab meat and seasoned well. The Scallop dinner had the larger size Scallops - 6 to an order also seasoned and cooked well. Really no complaints, this place is one to return to or a must try if you have never been. There is outdoor seating available and a boat dock! Another Plus - Coke products are served!

Very good food! Gator bites were perfectly cooked. Hushpuppies were my favorite. Overall, fish was cooked perfectly. Ribeye sandwich was excellent. Service was also great, one of the members of my party had allergies and they helped accommodate us. The restaurant is very cute, classic seafood restaurant decor.

This hole-in-the-wall place is Gem!! Located on Hwy 44 is on of the best keep secrets around. They have by far the best Grouper you can buy with money. It is always prepared to your liking. The Shrimp are huge!l and once again prepare to your liking. On Thursday night the have Prime Rib night. You must call in advance to order you cut. Offered in large or smaller. As well, if you are a Blu Cheese lover the Blu Cheese dressing is home made. You can eat it with a fork. I have never had a bad meal at this place!! Everything is fresh and made with love. Even the homemade cakes they offer for dessert. The service is excellent!! On one or two busy occasions it was a little slower. But what ever!! It was worth the wait. The dinning room is small but decorated luge you would expect a fish house to be. This place get 5-starts all day.. Love The Fishermans Restaurant!!!

So this place is a hidden gem that is No to be missed. Without a doubt, they have some of the best coleslaw that I have ever tasted. It is a rich, creamy taste treat that goes well withe the Fisherman's Cove's killer fish sandwich. Equally tasty and not to be missed is their cheddar and broccoli balls, little bites of Heaven that are sure to please the most avid cheese-lover. Yum! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. This place holds the deliciousness crown hands down

Haddock fish fry with baked potato

My spouse and I were searching for a fish fry restaurant and drove out toward Inverness to find something and found out this place is open again. It seems that new owners took over as of the first of the year and are on Wednesday thru Saturday hours it seems. The Thursday prime rib sells out and needs reservations to get it. We were here on Friday and it was busy. Had to wait 20 minutes, but once we got seated it went quick for drinks, order two haddock fish fry with baked potato and coleslaw and two diet cokes in cans. The fish was brought out hot and quick and had hush puppies included. It was tasty and now we know we will return.

    Lobster and shrimp bisque.

We headed out to Fishermans Restaurant last night for an early Father's Day celebration with mixed results. This small establishment is located in Inverness. Although it could use a thorough clean and modernization, the waitress was super friendly and the food not bad. We started with the shrimp and lobster bisque which was tasty with just a hint of a sherry-like flavor. I had the fried shrimp platter with green beans and baked potato. It was okay even if the potato was a bit dry. My husband really enjoyed his blackened mahi mahi. The rice and beans were average. Our son also enjoyed his soft shell crabs but didn't care for the beans. The real problem, is that the portions are tiny. It was fine for me, but my guys left hungry. It's also very expensive for such a small amount of food. We paid over $90 before tip for three of us with no alcohol. I will say the star of the show is the dessert. It was insanely good. We split a slice of coconut pineapple cake which is the best thing I've eaten in quite a long time. So good I think I'll order one for Thanksgiving. Overall, I'm not sure the interior of the restaurant, the quality of the food or the expensive price makes this restaurant worth the drive, but I'll do it in the future if only to take home some of that magnificent cake!

Food was great. Coconut shrimp and green beans were outstanding. Excellent service. Enjoyed the hole in the wall local feel.

It's a charming old Florida house converted into separate dining rooms/areas. Our server was the bartender/server for our table so we kept our orders basic. Dirty Martini, House Cab and House Chardonnay and a cranberry and Vodka. Loved the interesting dates wrapped in bacon app. Hubby ordered the twin tails. They were healthy tails I must say and I had the Delmonico. Food was all terrific. Will go again for sure.

I started w/ a glass of sangria (Which was excellent!). I'd highly suggest trying the sangria! I also Ordered a bottle Pere' water. We were given a bread, which was ok...I asked for some oil & balsamic, or a pesto...it appeared I was an alien by the servers reaction "we got olive oil and butter". So I stepped that. We ordered our starters and knew our mains, the server said she delay putting in the ticket until we were close to finishing our apps, she did a great job, it was seamless! Apps were scalloped scallops and figs wrapped in bacon, then smoked or grilled. The figs were delicious, the scallops needed seasoning and was ok. Ok Ceaser, could have used a better dressing, more authentic style would be nice...but it was pretty bland, but good ingredients. I ordered the pork shop w/ gravy (ask for the gravy, You want the gravy). My wife wanted prime rib, but that was off the menu tonight. Instead a NY strip prepared basics the same... She wasn't impressed. I thought it was OK, I think she had her heart set on the prime rib. Upon finishing, the server came, cleared the table and offered a check and no mention of deserts This is an honest review, not 5* but a good meal!

I stopped here to fuel up on my way to the west coast of Florida and probably would have reviewed this station a little higher if I hadn't gone inside to use the facilities- The condition of the fueling island was fair, this place is beginning to show it's age but still functioning fine including dispensing the receipt at the pump, the interior of the store is filled with a little of everything that can be monetized. I paid at the pump so my decision to go inside was definitely not for a shopping spree - as I waited for a customer to exit the restroom I noticed the staff was busy interacting with some of the locals it seems this station provides a lot more for those living in the area than those of us passing through and it appears to definitely be an asset for the community. I didn't make any additional purchases but it looked like the coffee and soda fountain get a fair share of use as well as the hot dog roller grill that was partially filled. It common to see excess inventory stacked in any available space and at this location cases of beer occupy those areas. If there is any negative it's probably the men's restroom itself - it's in need of a major renovation, I can't say for sure if it's dirty it just appears that way, the fixtures were old and there is no hand paper dispense just an old hand dryer mounted near the old porcelain sink with a hand activated faucet - hands free fixtures would be a much better solution, I couldn't wait to get back to my truck and use the Clorox Wipes but most seem oblivious to the issues so it's all good...
