They are amazing! Best place for lunch or if you want to Apres ski a bit early. The service is always 10/10 as well as the food and they have the best hot chocolate! I stop here several times a week when I'm skiing. Heidi at the bar is amazing!

Sam's really sets the bar for an on-mountain dining experience. After a morning of skiing, it's such a treat to step into a refined and cozy space. The views are outstanding, of course, and the food is even better. The pastas are freshly made and worth a trip to experience. I enjoyed the cavatelli which came with a mushroom gorgonzola sauce topped with walnuts. I ordered the large which was enough for two people but ate it all anyway. I loved this place so much I made a reservation to return in two days. Insider's Tip: Reservations are available as are walk-ins. First come, first served seating at the bar.

I don't understand why the place got a low rating. This is probably one of the most unique places I've been. The view from the restaurant was incredible. The place was amazing with an upscale feeling. To be able to take off the ski boots and wear the comfortable slippers was amazing. What surprised me the most was the food. The food was super delicious with great presentation. The price wasn't bad at all. Honestly if they opened this in nyc, it would be a big hit for the food. Service was okay and our waitress was average but the restaurant manager dropped by and he was super friendly. Make sure you make reservations in advance!

I loved my experience dining at Sam's. The food was delicious, the service is great, and of course, the view on top of the mountain is hard to beat! Please get yourself a reservation here while skiing at Snowmass. It's much preferable to the other lodge foods. We ordered the house made bread, and we loved the caramelized onion jam. The salad was so fresh and tasty, despite being pretty simple. And the pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious!

Wonderful views. Great homemade pastas. Highly recommend for an on mountain meal. One of my favs.

Great place to eat and rest on the mountain. The restaurant gives you the feeling at home with many details: designated storage area for helmets and outfits, slippers to wear during lunch. The most famous pizza sold out around 1:30pm every day. The other dishes are also very delicious.

We had a great lunch on a snowy day. Food is delicious and service is excellent! Better to make a reservation; if not come early like 11am to ensure you get a table and timely service

Andre, the douchey bartender!! Seeing a friend walk in was the only time he smiled. Otherwise his service sucked and he was a rude twit

Food was great. Service at the bar was terrible. No thanks to Andrè the bartender . Otherwise I'd say this was a five star restaurant and beautiful.

I went here with my family for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. They have a slipper room where you can take off ski clothes and your boots too. We enjoyed their cocktails, apps, and mains. My daughters (7,9) both enjoyed their meals. I'll book a reservation here again next time I ski snowmass.

Gorgeous place, but we had a very rude waiter - Hugo . He kind of ruined our experience. The hostesses were delightful, and the atmosphere was very nice. Classy place with great views! Just be careful which waiter you get. Hugo acted like he didn't have time for us, and we were annoying him. We ordered water, but never got it. I had to ask the hostess for water after waiting 10-15 minutes and not getting anything. We told our waiter that we knew Chef Sean, who worked there. Hugo said there wasn't anyone there by that name. However, we could see him working back in the kitchen. Later, our waiter admitted Sean worked there, but then made fun of him. It was just as hard to get the bill as it was getting everything else. I had to leave right from there to catch a flight back home, so I was getting quite anxious. I did make it, though. I will go back, but I will refuse to sit in Hugo's section.

The wife and I came here for lunch on our ski date and we were not disappointed. From the bread to the Tuscan bean soup, to the Brussel sprouts, to the rigatoni, everything was delicious. Portions were generous and I really didn't think prices were bad for on-mountain dining. Service was fast, friendly, and unpretentious. My glass of wine, a GSM red blend, was just so so, a little thin for my taste. But the wife's chenin blanc was tasty.

We made it out to @aspensnowmass for closing day last Sunday. Gotta say, our favorite trend is PAID bread service. Loving this show up frequently on menus lately, especially at Sam's atop Snowmass, where they bake it fresh at high altitude daily. P: @diningcolorado

    Hair in food

Ladies working at the hostess stand are so rude and in their own little world. Was told five minutes for our table and waited 25 mins for our reservation and when I asked if it's ready she goes oh it's been ready! And they were just chatting for 25 mins while we stood in front of them waiting. Wasted time we could have spend on the mountain. Then I found a hair in my food ! Bad food and bad service

Crowded so we sat at the bar but was still good service. Soup was good and portion was substantial. Interior clean and busy but warm!

In general, a nice place with amazing atmosphere at 3000 meters. The pasta with classic was dry but everything else was great.

My husband had the Fusilli which was also fresh and light. They paired some nice wines for us and we had a lovely time. I know that it can be much busier but we enjoyed the more intimate atmosphere. L'eccellenza italiana in every boccone! Five stars all the way -- this place truly deserves a Michelin star.

We don't mind paying for an exceptional meal, but this simply wasn't it. It ended up being the most expensive dining experience of our trip, yet the quality didn't come close to justifying the cost. The service made the experience even worse. Because our party was larger than six, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. We normally tip well over 20% for good service, but it honestly felt like our server knew the tip was guaranteed and put very little effort into taking care of us. Our orders came out incorrectly, we were charged for items we never received, and overall the service was inattentive from start to finish. Aspen has so many dining options, and based on our experience, I would recommend trying somewhere else. We left feeling like we paid premium prices for a very average meal and poor service.

For this restaurant, the find was almost like that. We (while enjoying our quick spa getaway in town coming from the greater Denver area) found this place after a disappointing experience with another similar restaurant nearby as it was closed for a private party that night. We were in a dire need of finding something alternative. As we were walking around town earlier that day, we did notice this place. After checking to make sure that it was truly open (not again, right?), we rushed there to fill our empty stomachs. The experience? It was quite good! Despite its unfortunate setting (downstairs in one of the buildings on the busy main street in town), what they can offer is worth the mention. Ambience?? Good! Fairly small restaurant but the layout is efficient where it can hold at least 50+ people when it's packed. The bar is the most ambient part of the restaurant where copper top was most fitting with chic looking lightings hanging from the ceilings. As long as the weather permits, seating in the patio is available. Three men collaborated to assist us for all of our needs during our fairly quick dinner. Time was barely 5pm. The night was still very young. Other diners eventually streamed in and it was at its 50% capacity by 5:50m. By the way, this experience was on a Thursday in mid-April of 2026. Here is what we got: -Justin Cabernet $15 per glass -Mediterra Super Tuscan $15 per glass (I had this one. Justin which my daughter had was better than mine in my opinion.) (The selection for wine by the glass is a bit small; they could easily add a few more to both the white and the red) -Starter bread (complimentary; later one of the men came to refill it by adding a few more slices. Excellent starter bread) -Mussels alla Crema (Cream based. They can make it with red sauce as well; $18) -Torretta de Malanzane (An eggplant burrata dish, $17) -Brassato (A gnocchi dish with braised short ribs, $30) All of the dishes were equal contenders where I simply couldn't pick one winning dish out of them. Each dish's meticulous presentation coupled with the overall seasonings, flavors and complex or perfected texture, their creative dishes are the core reason for their successful restaurant operations is what I gleaned while dining. We, unfortunately, skipped the dessert part as we saw an ice cream place several doors up the street from it earlier. We wanted to immerse ourselves in different dining experiences while our short stay in town so maybe next time we dine here again, we will indulge in their "decadent" dessert treats.
