Sam's is the closest seafood restaurant to where I work so I go there quite a bit. Be sure to bring a big appetite because any seafood platter you order will add 1 extra piece of each item that is in that order. Very well Cooked and spiced well. Tried Sam's for the first time today. I called in and ordered a fried shrimp sub to go. The restaurant was clean and bright, and my order was ready a few minutes after I arrived. When I got home, I was surprised with the amount of food I received. The sub was halved, each half containing two huge fried shrimp, along with two additional shrimp on the side. Along with the sub was a huge order of fries. Everything was piping hot. I love subs, and the shrimp in this one were delicious, but I didn't care for the bun as much. I prefer a lighter bun, and this was heavy and filling. I think next time, I'll skip the sub and get the dinner. All in all, it was well worth the price of $7.99 read more

Went here a few times before and the food was excellent. Today it was horrible. I ordered a children's fried shrimp which was fried too hard for anyone to eat. I also ordered popcorn shrimp which they have changed to a small shrimp with tails on. Also 2 more pieces of fish which were over cooked and rubbery. A waste of $22. This is what I call happy food. I had the 5 shrimp and 1 fish fried with fries and corn. The corn could have been better but the rest of the food was great! Such a disappointment! We spent $50 on food here and most of it was not worth it. The fried gizzards were so tough we could not even bite through them. We had two orders of gizzards just to trash them! The red beans and rice were full of grease just coating the top of the container. The fries had no seasoning or salt. The shrimp salad had literally 5 shrimp and they were sautéed like fajitas with onions and bell peppers sitting in grease. My mom ordered the grilled fish and shrimp, which she's had before and it seemed as if they took half of her food for my shrimp salad because there was also FISH on my shrimp salad. The hush puppies were disgusting and hard. It was just so disappointing knowing we've had it a few times before, simpler meals, that were much better. It was not busy at all which is why I don't understand how they couldn't have took the time to make our food better. Just a truly disappointing experience to say the least, especially spending so much. I'm only giving two stars because the po-boy was the only good meal in the order (minus the fries). read more
