I ordered a togo 6 pc fish with red beans and rice and green beans along with other food. My issue is that they gave me soggy fries instead of my green beans and 5 pcs of fish. I even called to ask what happened but they did not answer because yhey were 7 minutes away from closing. If it's your 1st time, the signage is accurate! Wait at the front to be seated and eat in...someone will come to grab you. If you want take-out or you called it in, skip on to the counter past the lobby to take care of business. The menu is straightforward, service is swift, and desserts are packaged ready-to-go! Jumbo shrimp is really jumbo at this joint and they don't play around with that fish sandwich! If you're on a road trip, they're conveniently located right off of the freeway. They have clean bathrooms too, but at least grab some dessert if you stop in. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant, but unfortunately the service, cleanliness and food quality makes this place a little ...low on the scale. We were greeted at the door by an unsmiling trio of people who looked put out that we were asking for a table instead of taking an order to go. It was only 6:30 at night so we weren't there at closing time or anything. We were seated promptly, however, and the waitress came to take our drink order. The table next to us left right as she got there, and she saw them leave. She did not, however, attempt to clear their table. Our food arrived 20 minutes later. My order was incomplete, but my hubby thought his food was fine. A little salty but edible. The table behind us left about ten minutes after we got there. The waitress saw both tables but never made any attempt to clear them. Our drinks were empty before she reappeard to offer us more. She didnt clear our dirty dishes when she went to get the check. And when the check finally came back to our table, all three tables still were not cleared. The staff frequently shrieked back to the kitchen staff in a very loud, high pitched tone that echoed through the high ceilinged room. I realize that this place is popular but all I can give it is a 3. I tried their fried seafood which included fish, shrimp and oysters along with green beans and cole slaw. All of the seafood pieces were large. It was 3 of each for a total of $12.49 and was a lot of food. It was good but nothing more to warrant a 4. The restaurant is a hole in the wall type that is more conducive to getting it to go rather than dining in. I went due to the yelp ratings but I cannot agree with its current rating of 4.5. The staff seems nice and food is good, but not good enough to overpay, especially since there's at least a half dozen other choices with in a 2minute drive from this joint. Great prices for good food! I had lunch here on my first day of a week long visit and it was probably the best lunch all week. The fries are exactly the way I like them, crisp on the outside and hot inside. Every one of them. There wasn't a single limp, soggy fry. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I was hesitant to order it, having experienced them in their natural habitat and this was quite a few miles from the City of Brotherly Love, but my server recommended it and I took her word; along with the tip to add A1 sauce (do that if you get it). It was messy, but packed with flavor. And huge. If you leave here hungry, then you have a hollow leg. The portions are massive, prices are low and food is good. read more

The fried fish was great. The shrimp and onion rings sucked. They wanted to charge us 80 cents for 4 pack of mayonnaise and $2.80 for an empty styrofoam cup after purchasing three bottles of water. They charged an additional $3.38 and said it was for an additional piece of shrimp on each side of the poboy. So the poboy only comes with 4 shrimp that are not crunchy. The poboy still had at least three inches of bread with no shrimp. The onion rings were the frozen ones from a grocery store and over cooked. Won't ever come back here. read more

I was greeted by a young lady with a warm hello. She was patient with me while I decided what to order. 3 piece fish and 3 piece shrimp. Fries, mac and cheese and upon her suggestion, the seafood gumbo. The food is made fresh so I sat for just a moment and waited. I got home and opened my box. Wow. The portion size!
