We had another basket for the rest of the food. 3 fish, 3 shrimps, and 3 oysters with fries, red beans & rice.

We were wanting fried chicken then Yelp lead us the way but upon entering the smell of the fried catfish is annoyingly (in a good way) messing up with our head. Haha. Ended up getting a basket of 3 catfish, 3 shrimp, and 3 oysters with fries and red beans and rice to share. This combo is good for 2 people already you can probably add another side, a la carte for more food but this is enough for us. Our order came out piping hot, fresh out of the fryer. No frills spot, upon entering you will be greeted by a nice lady to take your order and she will pleasantly wait for you to decide which one to get. Yes, it's chicken, and fried seafood but the combo is extensive. You can also asked for your basked to be grilled if you'd like for an extra. The place is what yours expect from a southern, catfish place. Open sitting and patrons hanging out just gossiping. They also have a drive thru window for the convenience of not having to get out of your car.

First time here for me and hubby. We ordered the #36 to share (see pics). Was a lot of food for us. Everything was delicious. I'll definitely save this place as a favorite in Waco.

Food was good! Service is straightforward and friendly. Cozy hole in the wall vibe. Only complaint was that the po boy was a little too small, but overall would highly recommend!

Got the whole catfish. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Priced right for the portion. Definitely will try it again!

Tried the whole catfish. It was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. Priced right for the large portion. I'll definitely try it again!

I tried the whole fried catfish and the red beans and rice it was delicious. It was seasoned just right.

Good, fast, hot and tasty. Had the Clam 'Po Boy and fires. It was under $8 and a good sized portion. Will eat there again.

Served with a perfect burrata with green pesto that was most divine- fresh as can be. Mocktails are always my choice and there's a blackberry mocktail made fresh intensely flavored berries that's a wow. So being from Oklahoma my favorite meal is fried chicken and mashed potatoes. We split a plate and we were not sorry. The perfect little chicken gravy pitcher- piping hot- w a generous helping of sauce served two easily. For desert there's an extensive selection ( including strawberry shortcake) but we opted for just plain latte made impeccably. Congratulations. You've really made America's best restaurant imo! We loved it. Coming from NYC we are spoiled for great food. But you have a 5 star accomplishment in this place. Perfectly wonderful. A million thanks-- what a memorable meal!

Our server was ok it really was the food that left a bad taste for me. I started with the signature cocktail a lavender lemon drop Martini only to have the server tell me they don't have all the ingredients to make one of their signature seasonal cocktail drinks. Appetizers we had the burrata which was probably the best thing I ate. My guest ordered the Bavette steak frites with Mac n cheese and I ordered the crispy chicken plate. Their fryer went down and we're not able to make the crispy chicken plate so I settled for their burger. My guest received her steak first and tried cutting into it. It was dry, rubbery and chewy. I had to wait 10 minutes for my burger to show up and when I received it the burger was dry overly salty and hard to eat. My fries were also overly seasoned and hard to enjoy. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. On top of that they locked the gift shop door so you had to walk around to the front entrance if you were shopping in the gift shop. Service is a 3, food is 1 and experience a 1. 1 star

It came with this amazing poppyseed dip that made it even better. We also ordered the cheese poppers with jalapeño ranch and definitely underestimated them. They were crispy, curdy, and super addictive. The chicken fried steak was another win. Hand-breaded, flavorful, and covered in their homemade gravy. Straight-up comfort food. Dessert is a must. We got the banana pudding meringue and absolutely demolished it. It's said to be one of the owner's mother's recipes. The atmosphere has a clean 1950s vibe with retro decor and vintage car parts everywhere, which was pretty fun and different. Our server, Cindy, was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Overall, really solid experience. Would definitely come back.

The retro themed eatery with gas themed memorabilia is an eye pleaser. The meals are served in old hubcaps, just to keep you submerged in that classic ol' timeliness. It was $19 but the portion was incredibly small, I think it was one of the most expensive items in the menu, if not the most and it was really small. In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. The baked sweet potato on the other hand had a nice dose of heat from the Calabrian honey vinaigrette, the sweet heat combo worked really, I'm surprised I'd never come across a spicy sweet potato dish before, but I'll definitely have my eye out for it in the future Overall I had a very good experience and will definitely be back for future rest stop meals between Austin and Dallas!
