I came here to drop off my Gregory backpack to ship off for repair (apparently Samsonite is the parent company of Gregory and the instructions from Gregory customer service was to drop it off at a Samsonite store near me) and the process was mostly smooth. The lady who helped me seemed confused at my request at first, but after going to the back for a while, she understood my request and helped me out with the rest of the steps and I was able to successfully drop off my backpack. I've been using Samsonite luggage for decades, and this experience really has me looking at alternative brands for my travel needs. After over a decade with the same carry-on suitcase, I was looking for a new set for my upcoming travels. The sales lady here is beyond rude. I entered the store right as she was about to leave for a break of some sort (only one SA in store), and she told me to hurry up like she was doing me a favor. She didn't engage with me or answer any of my questions, and pointed me to the back of the store and told me to look there by myself. At least three other parties entered the store within 5 minutes of me, and she was much more responsive to the Chinese clientele. It was a frustrating and demeaning experience, and she needs to learn what customer service is or find a new job that doesn't involve interacting with other people. read more

First of all, the sales lady here did not bother to show me around but busy chit-chatting with another person, which is totally fine by me, but when I finally called her up to purchase a luggage of my choice and told her I wanted the one on the top shelf, she was rude, raised her voice on me, and did not want to get it for me. I am pretty easy going on people in general, but this is no way to treat your customer. I bought luggage at Costco and really liked my four wheel luggage. The airline gorillas handing my bag shaved off one of my four wheels. Couldn't believe when I talked to Samsonite that they would repair it for free and even mail the fixed luggage back to my home, again all for free! They have a 10 year warranty which now makes it very attractive to buy Samsonite bags in the future as these wheels are always a problem. Been to this place about 4x since its opening and on the third visit I noticed a significant decline in customer service. One evening, I was so annoyed by the lack of customer service that I refused to make a purchase here. My husband and I came back a fourth time because he needed a briefcase and the service was slightly better. Hope managements continues to look into their employees and to train them in excellent customer service. Eight years ago, when I needed to buy a new luggage, I went with the Samsonite brand for its reputation of reliability and durability. Overall, the luggage did its job. I literally have taken it all around the world. The only problem was a screw that kept on coming loose. During a recent trip to Europe, the zipper pull also came off. I figured the warranty would take care of the problem so I brought the luggage into the outlet shop in Livermore, California to get it repaired. The lady said I had two options - get it fixed or get 70% off the purchase of a new product. The offering was very tempting but I also enjoyed the suitcase which I owned. My old luggage did not have the bells and whistles which the new luggage had. I shopped around and debated with myself on what I should do. I must of had been struggling with the decision for more than 30 minutes. I finally decided to take the deal. I took off my luggage tag and placed it onto the new luggage. I asked the lady where is the zipper so I can hide a copy of my passport paper. I like how Samsonite luggage have an area to hide this important document in case I ever lose my passport. I was ready to pay for new suitcase. That was when the problem arose. The lady asked her manager (Chris?) who had just walked into the store to help her process the discount. She informed him that I wanted to trade in my old luggage to get the 70% discount. However, he said the percentage off should be 60% off. Although the paper the worker saw definitely said 70% off, he ordered her to only give me 60% off. I pleaded with him that I only took the offer because it was suppose to be 70% off. He ignored my plead and said, "It's 60%." Since I was spent such a long time, changed the tags and even hid my copies of my passport, I decided to just make the purchase. However, I am not happy. The more i think about it, the angrier i get. I feel that even if the promotion is for 60% off, I should get the higher discount because that was the information i was given by the three workers who was at the store. That 10%, which equates to about $40, is not a lot but it is what is right. It sucks that i am unsatisfied with the purchase since I loved my Samsonite luggage. read more

I was asking the price for a luggage and couldn't understand the Chinese workers english since she was wearing a N95 mask so she gave me attitude and rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to repeat the price. Very misleading store, make sure you read all the signs as the folks over there wont mention anything more then saying 90 days returnc, dont take them by their words. We bought a carry on and were told it can be returned if not suited so while trying it out and deciding we would take it, we took out the tags but we were not mentioned about how "important" the tag was. We decided not taking the carryon and exchange it for a bigger suitcase then the lady at the store didnt agree at all to take it back mentioning about their "policy" which she didnt mention while at the store. Now we are stuck with a bag we dont need. FYI we had similar situation @Tumi at the same location, but they were graceful enough to understand the situation and exchange it for us, we ended up buying more expensive one at Tumi. Last night I checked every store in the Stoneridge Mall that might have the type of Samsonite laptop backpack I was looking for with no luck. When I called the Samsonite store in the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore I was pleasantly surprised by Mackenzie's happy, cheerful, helpfulness on the phone so I went there and she took great care of me. I purchased the exact laptop backpack I was looking for. She made me aware of their warranty and ease of submitting a warranty through her store. My Samsonite luggage was replaced due to it couldn't be repaired. The luggage had a lifetime guarantee. Samsonite sent me new luggage that was very comparable. I was just setting a combination on both pieces of luggage and when I went to open one of the bags, it wouldn't open. I spent an hour trying to get the one piece of luggage to open. I googled what to do when you can't remember your lock combination. The message said to take it to the Samsonite center nearest you because they have a TSA key. I went over to the Samsonite Store in the Livermore outlets. The clerk said they didn't have a key because it is illegal. She then spent 30 minutes going through all the numbers to get to my incorrect number that I put in. She then helped me reset with my combination. The clerk's name was Pan and I could not be more grateful for her assistance. I tried to offer a tip but she declined. It would have easily taken me a couple hours to get through all the combinations. Pan saved me so much time and she was so kind. Couldn't say enough kind words about her. read more

Shame on you Samsonite, I gave this stool to my 65yr old mother and it shattered beneath her on the second use. This could have been a catastrophe given her age and the fact that she had broken her back a few years ago. I bought a Samsonite stool thinking it would of be safe and reliable. When I asked what the price of a certain item was he just told me to look at the ousted signs (some luggage was in the wrong spot so I just wanted to double check). I had an issue with a Samsonite bag that was still under warranty. Dropped it off here and they took care of the rest. My bag could not be repaired so A new bag was delivered to my home me fairly quickly. Yea!!! A couple of years ago I bought a very lightweight suitcase here. After many trips, one wheel had warped and the suitcase wasn't easy to push. This wasn't a cheap bag, but it weighs about 6 lbs and its perfect for me. I took it back today, and was offered a repair or a new suitcase. The customer service here is wonderful.
