Therapy is...good therapy. The eclectic offerings are fun and most will make you smile. They have something for everyone from the Littles to grandma. Their offerings, whether it be cookbooks, stuffed animals, cards, or stickers, are all well- curated. It's a great place to find a unique gift or that little tchotchke you didn't know you needed. Love everything about Therapy Stores!! I originally found out about them from the Burlingame location and was happy to see one pop up in downtown Livermore. It's such a fun store that you can really find some great gifts at. I love that they also have localization items (both for California and Livermore specific) as they carry some cute little Cali keepsakes I like to get for people I visit or are coming to visit! I also have to say that I did attempt to go online and see what was available and ended up calling the location to make sure and am so glad I did. Not only was the website not updated and the actual location had much more options than shown online but the employees were so amazing even calling me back (without leaving a message!) to assist in anyway they could. Both in store and out of store customer service is 5 star!! Highly recommend just staking a stroll thru a store and I guarantee you'll find something that makes you laugh or have to leave with! We smiled or laughed at almost everything in this store. You'll find a gift for anyone or something to spark joy. After a few minutes of browsing, an employee started following me around. I thought she was going to ask if I needed help, but she didn't say anything. It got too crowded, so I went outside to wait with one of my cousins. My sister said she had a great conversation with the owner and how she carefully selected each item. There was so much to find here that we went back a couple of hours later to take a second look. My sister bought me a hilarious book. (I didn't ask, she's just the best!) I ended up talking to the employee who followed me the first time. She was friendly and we laughed when she told me she spends a lot of her check there, and I said I'd probably do the same. You could spend a lot here too. Therapy in downtown Livermore is the best! It has always been a favorite store of mine to browse and now has a special place in my heart :) For the past few years I have eyed a cute piece of furniture in the display window for my classroom. Kate was so kind to see if she was able to sell it to me and was quick in trying to give me an answer. After inquiring to the owner, Kate gifted it to me for free. I've been here a couple times since they opened. My most recent trip was during the Holiday Open House in November. I tried to go the previous week to pick up a card but it was unclear why they were closed. It was busy during the event but the line at checkout wasn't bad. In my 30+ years of living in this country as an Asian American, this is the first time I felt I was racially profiled. It was subtle but so obvious at the same time... I was taking photos of the store and the shop girl asked me not to. I apologized right away and asked if I had missed a "no photo policy" sign when I entered the store. She said there was no sign but they just don't people taking pictures of the store. I said, "May I ask why?" She replied, "We have our own website and we just want to keep the exclusivity of it." And I asked, "So you don't want me to take pics of your store, share it on my Instagram and tag you on social media?" (I didn't tell her I normally have 3000-5000 views on each of my Instagram posts. Not big but decent viewership). She quickly said, "If you are sharing it on social media, that's fine but we just don't want you to send it to someone else." I was like, what? I was dumbfounded by why she asked me not to take photos from the get-go without asking me what I was going to do with them first? Why did she assume I was doing something fishy without asking me my intention first? Then she quickly said, "We are not singling you out or anything...". Girl, that's exactly what you are doing. My husband was taking photos but no one asked him to stop and he happens to be Caucasian. You either have a no-photo policy or not. You can't just approach me this way assuming I was some sort of industrial spy and selectively decide who can take photos or not. If you don't have a strict policy and would allow it on case-by-case basis for social media sharing, you should've asked me for my intention first instead of assuming I was doing something fishy in your store. It is very distasteful and presumptuous. It's a shame because as an entrepreneur myself I always like to suppprt small businesses but I don't think I will ever step into this store again. read more

I am so happy to see this store in Livermore. I used to shop at the one in Pleasanton, but I never got there was much as I would have liked. So lovely to have this store right downtown- when ever I'm around to eat at the Press, or visit down town businesses, I can stop by here. I love the Blue Q products they carry and the canvas prints of flowers and ferns. Found some really gorgeous scarves and super gifts for everyone on my Christmas list. Even the most difficult people to shop for can be shopped for at Therapy. The staff were very helpful and very kind despite being overwhelmed on the day we went by pajama clad hordes. read more

Beyond happy that another wonderfully smelling Therapy made their way into the downtown Livermore community. They are the perfect addition! AND just in time for the holidays! It's dang-near your one stop shop. This store is larger, AKA a lot more knick knacks to look at, and trust me... you'll want to look at EVERYTHING. Expect to spend a cool amount of time in here. They have the softest, trendy yet casual clothing, punny cute socks, bags on bags, the cutest baby plushes, a whole selection of unique books, handcrafted jewelry from local vendors... in fact, mostly several locally handcrafted items! I am always such a huge sucker for supporting the locals. What's even more enticing is the fact that it's not extremely expensive for good quality, local, handcrafted goodies... surprisingly affordable. My favorite worker has made her way into this location as well. Astrid is one of the most comfortable and informative salespeople I've met. Sometimes I'm just overwhelmed by how incredibly tasteful this store is with all they have to offer, and the way she knows the store like the back of her hand is extremely helpful. read more

Happy #ThankfulThursday! This location is probably the most spacious location. I've been to several locations. I love that Jing and her team adapted to the times by offering personal shopping via their Instagram, curbside pick up at this location and another location as well as an online shop! Finally. I ordered via Instagram when they were first starting to take personal shopping orders, not only did they deliver my goods early (late at night but that's ok I was up) but they left a personal thank you note. Each location has their own quirky local goods and all of their sales reps are super friendly and helpful. They're definitely one of my favourite local businesses and after using their personal shopping service as well as online and in person, I've been a happy customer. I can't believe they've been around since 1994. They also give back 1% of sales to local food banks and non-profits. If you're an educator, they offer a 10% off discount. I can't say enough good things about them. Looking forward to browsing, shopping and chatting with their employees once they open their doors again. Hi! I would like to recognize Emily at the Downtown Livermore Therapy Store in Livermore, CA! I had bought a new pair of sunglasses from this store but dropped them a couple weeks later and they had a permanent scratch on the lens. I was so upset at myself so I went back in the store to try and find another pair and this wonderful girl comes up to me to ask if I needed anything! I told her what happened but unfortunately they didn't have another pair in stock. She had given me her number to text her the picture of the glasses and told me she would look at other stores in the area to see if they had any. The other stores didn't have them either but she did get some of the same type of style in, just not the same color. I had gone in to take a look and instantly fell in love with them! I actually like them even better than the ones before! I just really appreciate Emily for going out of her way to search for them! It can be a hassle to do it but she was so patient and caring! Rude employees. They found a tag in my changing room and the employee became suspicious. She questioned me. She then proceeded to follow my friend and I around the store and when my friend tried on a sweater and sent a picture to her boyfriend the employee knocked on the door asking why she was taking so long when it was less than 3 minutes. Once my friend exited the changing room the employee was standing outside of the door, took the sweater from my friends hand and asked to check her bag for the shirt that may have been matched up with the tag. It wasn't until the lady searched both our bags and watched us leave with nothing in hand just how we came in (with nothing in hand) did she stop following us. I enjoyed my last visit, I purchased a pair of earrings and a matching ring with some gummies but after this I don't feel comfortable with coming back... I'm disgusted..! read more

Super glad this place opened up. Very friendly staff with a huge assortment of awesome products to browse from incredible cook books to cool clothing.
