Anyone who knows me, knows that I do not give 5 star ratings. No business is completely without something to take away. But Yelp only has whole star ratings, and the Stockton store of Samuels, in particular, our associate Ben, has been far more than a 4 star help. I would give them a 4.8 in actual. We have made several purchases over the years at this location and have been happy with the quality of product that we have received for the most part. We had one necklace that they repaired twice under warranty, but the second time they changed the whole clasp to something that will now hold. The main reason for the great rating is that we took my wife's diamond wedding band set in for routine inspection and found the main setting a little loose. They have changed their warranty plans around and we were offered a new "lifetime" plan. I am one of those people who is very hesitant for anything with "lifetime" coverage, and also read the fine print in anything that costs me very much money. I had lots of questions for Ben and how the whole program works. Ben and I conversed over the course of about 2 weeks, with me asking questions that Ben had never been given before, along with those he was able to answer right away. The bottom line is, we just purchased the "Lifetime" warranty on my wife's ring and they have repaired it and will be express delivering it back to us. I generally am a hard sell on anything of great expense, with lots of thought and research put into it. I am confident that Ben has steered me in the correct direction, with our best interest in mind. I have never had anyone in any customer service position provide the level of service that Ben has given us in this situation. Never will we do business here. They took advantage of my fiancé, told him he was buying platinum. Him not knowing about jewelry believed the man. So I decided to go in to see what they had to say about the ring he bought from them. The lady said it was sterling silver. In shock I let her go on about the diamonds, she first said they are cubic zirconium, then had the assistant manager tell her they were diamonds just low quality. The only good thing about Samuel's Jewelers in the very kind, helpful, patient, excellent service I received from Joann. She made time to help me out of a frustrating situation with the manager, Ben. We bought our rings there 10 months after being married on a low income. It was a big deal for us. Long story short...my ring was sent back three times to have prongs fixed, and was never fixed. I gave up after second time and waited a year for the 3rd send back due to lack of good customer service by Ben. He is very condescending, said I could trade in my ring for a new one-then recanted and stated it would cost me extra to do so. Also, never called me back when he realized they lost my paperwork. I waited another week. He told his employee that he left me a message and he did not. He lacks people skills and honesty. He acted annoyed even that I needed help at all. I finally gave in and took it back when a piece of the prong broke off and I had to have it fixed. It came back with white glue on it, prong fixed, sharp edges still not fixed. Eventually, after continuously cutting myself and my son, things getting snagged, I called customer care. The Supervisor Amanda helped me and apologized for his poor dealings with me. The experience of getting, and keeping a wedding ring was ruined for me. Supervisor Amanda made me an appointment with Joann at the store, and gave me the choice of trading in for a new ring of same value, or trade in exact same style. I got a new ring. Joann was great, customer care was excellent.. Ben should not be the manager, or any manager anywhere. Because of Ben's bad management skills, my husband did not go back there to purchase a new diamond wedding band for me when he proposed to me again last week with a gorgeous ring. Our first wedding was not what we wanted at all due to finances. And...he also bought me an anniversary diamond ring because our 1st anniversary was less than special due to finances. He went to Kay Jewelers. Samuel's lost out on about $1,000.00 worth of sales and lost a good customer in my husband...and we are on our feet now financially. Hi I bought my rings from this store 5 years ago and evry 6 months I take them in for check up n to get them re-flash because they're white gold n I had never had a problem before till 2 days ago.. A gentlemen by the name of STEVE KUDO OR KUDA said that the warranty did not cover for the re-flash that I would have to pay for it. We argued for a lil bit n he told me that he had worked for this company for 4 yrs n that he had turned hundreds of people down for it and that he couldn't believe I had been getting it for free for so long.He had gotten transferd to this location 2 months ago. So I got he's name n the corporate store number n called them to ask about it n they told me that it was defenetly cover by my lifetime warranty n that they would call him n tell him to stop turning customers down n that I was coming by to drop off my ring.
