Stopped by while I was in Hesperia and it tasted good and there's was a nice variety. Like that there's some rolls you can't find at other sushi places. They also give a complementary appetizer and dessert which is nice. Only downside and the reason for the three stars is that when they clean another table, they use cleaning spray that smells, which really ruins your appetite. Please just use water and save the cleaning spray until closing time. I don't want to smell bleach or Windex while eating. read more

Samurai Sushi is my favorite. They have two locations, but Hesperia is closer, which is the one I prefer. They give u a complimentary appetizer and dessert. The food is fresh and has great flavors! They also have a frequent customer card that allows you to earn $20 and is redeemable at both locations. I've taken advantage of that twice already. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I tried this restaurant on Friday evening, 11/18/16. We are new to Hesperia and are aiming to try all the local fare. This place inspired some high hopes in us because of all the high reviews on Yelp, but WOW how disappointing. We arrived at around 8:15pm and the place wasn't too busy. There's a sign at the front of the restaurant that reads, "Please wait to be seated" and so, in the spirit of following directions we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. I know. We should have walked out, but we really had a craving for sushi and really wanted to give this place a try. We could see the waitresses walking past us purposely not making eye contact while they served their tables. Smh. Anyways, one of them eventually sat us at a table. Then we had to wait again...and again...and again. Then finally one of the waitresses came and took our orders after I flagged her down. Now then. The sushi was good and the plating was nice, too. I would have forgiven everything up till I received my food except...EXCEPT my spicy tuna tempura roll had a piece of plastic in it. Ugh. And to top it off, our waitress was surprised we wanted to order drinks or that we expected refills or wanted her to do anything a waitress would do. Needless to say, we're never going back here. We're from Los Angeles where any number of sushi places could put this one to shame. I'm beginning to think either we came on an off night or the people in the high desert don't know what a restaurant experience is supposed to be. Just because a restaurant doesn't serve crap on a platter does not mean they deserve five stars. Let's all try to be a bit more discriminating. read more

Absolutely love this sushi place! Best one up here the sushi is always fresh and delicious. The chef's here are amazing they get your food out very quick and They always welcome you in and thank you as you leave which I love. They give you a complimentary appetizer as well as a complimentary apple dessert. Reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is due to the servers. They are not very attentive and seem to be all over the place and lost. It takes at least 10 mins every time I go in for our server to even ask us what we want to drink it also takes forever once they do ask to bring you your drinks, which isn't always a negative but when it's every time you go in is what makes it a problem. They also don't welcome you when you come in or say thank you when you leave and seem a little miserable. The chef's have to tell them all the time to go check on certain tables. Other then that I love this place and will continue to go back, love the food and the atmosphere :) read more

Writing this review late but we came here last Saturday after waiting almost an hour at Katsunori Sushi after we'd been told 15 minutes, and had a Great meal! We walked in and were greeted by the chefs and hostesses. To our surprise they weren't busy at all, there was only 1 couple there eating their dinner. Needless to say we were seated quickly and our drinks came in a timely matter. The food was good, I really enjoyed the appetizer that was given to us by the chef! I got the Tofu Udon Yaki noodles and avocado rolls with soy paper and my boyfriend ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner with a white snow roll on the side. At the end of our meal we were given a complimentary dessert of Apples with Whipped Cream and chocolate sauce (the couple before us was offered the same but declined), it was a nice fresh finish to the meal! The chefs were very kind and seemed to be giving out a lot of complimentary food, they gave a family next to us a basket of what looked like tempura veggies and we heard the waitress tell another table across the room from us that the chef had given me them something complimentary as well. Waitress kept forgetting about our water cups as well as our spicy mayo and ginger. Once the water came through she spilled water on one of our sushi rolls. After one of our friends ordered sake she asked for his ID which was completely okay but then after a while she came back and asked for everyone's ID when only one person was drinking for we complied and showed ID mid eating one of my friends who is 21 left her ID in the car and she said sure you can get it after and not even one minute later she came back to ask again after even though we were not even close to finishing a bite in our mouth. We just recently moved to Hesperia all the way from Anaheim and let me tell you my husband and I love our sushi! This is the first sushi place we have tried and we fell in love! We came on a Monday around 3:30 so we figured it wasn't going to be too busy! We got two $9 Monday deal Alaskan rolls, a California roll (I think it was $5 or $5.50) and a Philadelphia roll $10 our bill came out to about $35 which is pretty affordable for a sit down sushi place! The chef also gave us a free appetizer and free dessert which I thought was so generous and nice of the restaurant because not a lot of places offer free stuff! The sushi was also very delicious and to our liking! We will definitely be back again because it's not to far from our house and we always crave sushi! Thank you!!!! read more

This place is a small sushi restaurant. We went in during the evening, right when the place dims the lights and turn on the candles. The sushi is great, The shrimp mania is my favorite chefs special roll and my fiance's favorite roll is the Kenny roll. I have to say I really enjoy eating a bowl of white rice by itself. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been ordering to go from this place as my go to sushi place. I just got married and wanted to share this place with my husband. Unfortunately we decided to dine in and this has to be the worst dine in experience I have ever had. We waited 45 min to an hour to be seated, but we were happy to do so because I loved the sushi here. After being seated, we were seated for 30 minutes and no one came to take a drink order. Not even waters. While we were waiting to finally give our drink orders (which we knew from the moment we sat down) a kid spilled the soy sauce container. Things happen, but the restaurant failed to properly clean this spot. They merely wiped it with a towel. Shortly after, the waitress slipped on this spot, as it was not properly cleaned. While she slipped, she slid (very forcefully) onto my big toe that was finally healing from a previous injury. I was in so much pain I was crying for 10 minutes straight. They move us to a new table, all the while still not even taking our drink order. Once in the new table, we finally get our drink orders taken. 40 minutes after being seated. After waiting almost an hour to be seated. The rolls I loved were no longer great. They came out slow and were literally falling apart and filled excessively with the cheap fillers. The mango chicken roll was absolutely disgusting. Soggy roll topped with over cooked chicken. Everything else was meh. Spicy garlic edamame was still fire tho. The real reason I am upset though is they offered nothing to apologize for ignoring us for 40 minutes *and* injuring me. My toe nail is definitely going to be dead after that hit. It's still THROBBING while I write this review. I will never be back, they lost a loyal customer who has easily spent thousands here. read more
