Jim is a true expert in this trade. He installed the motor, receiver, keypad, and all the components in a single day, and he didn't leave until every feature was tested and working perfectly. His professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. The entire team deserves credit: Josh (the owner) was the first person I connected with, Karen in scheduling made sure she secured the date on Jim's calendar, and Jim executed the installation with precision. I couldn't be happier with the result. If you need a reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy vendor for residential or commercial garage door openers, do yourself a favor and call Door Pros. The kind of guy that promises you the best in the world. Well when they delivered the door to install it the door was still wet from the stainer Door Pros had stain it. They swore it would be fine! Fast forward to 2026. I have had Door Pros out over 20 times to try and get the door properly working but every Tom, Dick, and Harry (smokers who smelled like a tobacco factory) they sent must have never been to garage door repair school. Joe the lead technician in the beginning told us the door needed to be taken off and sheetrock cut out so the door would run properly. The next Joe Schmoooo told us something different. So every guy that came out in 3 years had a different story. The last guy 2 months ago said it was installed wrong and he would have the owner call me next week but NEVER a call back. I even spoke with Josh the owner a few years ago and he said they would make it good. We finally said GOOD RIDDANCE to Door Pros. They aren't Pros at all. Just a company that gives a lot of talk and gives you no action. We called another company in SF and in once visit they told us Door Pros had installed the whole door wrong. Wrong springs, bend rails, etc. etc. The door after one visit works beautifully. So stay away from Door Pros. Listen to your gut. I wish I did as we wasted 3 years of our lives with that awful company. Too many photos to post but believe me I have them in a file of companies NOT TO USE.

I called back an hour later and was told he was 30 minutes out. About 30 minutes later I received a text showing he was still 50 minutes away. It looks like the technician was coming from the East Bay so nothing "local" about this. I called and canceled because I wasted my morning waiting for them. They did not reach out at any point to let me know they were running behind. I I had to call them and it was a super disappointing experience. I had found them in one of those coupon things you get in your mail and I guess you get what you pay for. Do not recommend.

I had five keys made, and none of them worked. When I returned, Bob, the manager who made the keys, told me he could tell the original key was "a copy of a copy" and that he had doubts when he made them the first time. I did wonder at that point why the keys had been made in the first place if he had concerns they wouldn't work, or why I wasn't warned beforehand. However, he was friendly, seemed genuinely willing to help, and offered to try to fix them, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the adjusted keys didn't work either. I went back a third time to return them for a refund. I had paid with a $50 Visa gift card, and Bob attempted to process the refund back to the card. He told me it went through. Later, when I tried to use the card for gas, it was declined because the funds had not been returned. Neither Bob nor I realized at the time that Visa gift cards cannot accept refunds. When I called about the missing refund, I spoke with Lexi. She was abrupt and rude throughout the conversation. She insisted the only option was a Fairfax Lumber store credit. I repeatedly explained that I had lived in Fairfax for six years and that this was my first time shopping there. I had specifically chosen Fairfax Lumber because I wanted to support a local business, but a store credit wasn't useful to me because I needed the money for actual expenses, not credit at a store I never use. I am on SSDI and live on a fixed income, so the difference between getting my money back and being stuck with store credit at a business I don't patronize actually matters. After going back and forth, during which she became increasingly condescending and told me things like, "Everyone knows you can't refund to a gift card," while listing other stores that supposedly follow the same policy, she finally agreed to refund me in cash. She added that they would "never do that for me again." The next day, I went to the store. Before I could speak with Lexi, Bob intercepted me and pulled me aside. He told me he had overheard how Lexi was speaking to me on the phone and didn't want me to have to deal with that. He asked me to come back when he wasn't busy and assured me he would personally take care of the situation. Unfortunately, I became very sick and couldn't return for about two weeks. I left a message during that time but never received a call back. Eventually, I called again, found out when Bob would be working, and returned to the store. On what was now my fifth trip regarding this issue, Bob said he couldn't remember all the details, which was understandable. However, instead of honoring what he had previously told me, he brought Lexi over. She immediately stated that Fairfax Lumber does not give cash refunds when a Visa gift card is used and that the only option was store credit. When I reminded her that she had already agreed to refund the money in cash, her response was, "I would never say that." At that point, Bob sided with her, saying, "Lexi knows more than I do. She's been here a long time." He then began getting an attitude and told me that this was simply how things were going to be handled. I responded that I knew exactly what I had been told and that if they weren't going to honor it, they should just give me the store credit and let me leave. The irony came at the very end. Lexi handed me a Fairfax Lumber gift card and then slid over an envelope containing extra change because, according to her, that portion couldn't be put on the card. Apparently, cash refunds are possible when it works for them. The way this entire situation was handled was unprofessional, rude, and, after five separate trips, a complete waste of my time. The issue was never just the amount of money. The issue was being sold keys that didn't work, being told one thing and then something completely different later, having an employee acknowledge that I had been treated poorly, promise to make it right, and then completely reverse course. When you're living on a fixed income, being forced into store credit you can't use isn't a minor inconvenience--it's real money. If anyone wants a Fairfax Lumber gift card with about $49 on it, let me know. I won't be setting foot in that store again.

If you have 5 weeks to wait for Keen to complete a simple garage door replacement and time to deal…read morewith 6 different technicians coming to your home then Keen is for you. I called on March 21 and requested a new garage door. On March 25 Josh Keen arrived and managed to tell me his whole life story while preparing the estimate. He did not see or ask me if I wanted a key pad. I was told that Keen had my garage door in stock at one of their neighboring businesses and that once the door was sent to Santa Rosa they would be in touch. On April 22, Derek arrived and installed the garage door but it was not the one that I had ordered and set aside for me. I ordered a garage door with windows and Keen installed one without windows. Another round of appointments were made and a worker came and dropped off the window panel for the upper part of the garage door. A few hours later another worker came and installed the panel and took the solid panel with him. He said another worker would be coming that same day with the key pad. I questioned if he had the right one and was assured he did. Of course he had 2 key pads on the truck but neither were compatible with my door!! You would think that at this point Keen Garage doors would expedite the case to simply install a key pad. But no!! They place me in the appointment queue and offer a complimentary one year membership to have my door serviced. What a joke. Who has time to set up appointments and deal with incompetent office people and workers. Finally on May 6 the key pad was installed. I wondered if this outfit had ever installed garage doors before and I also wonder how they stay in business.
