Lunch Fajitas

This location was very good. The servers were quick at serving and continued to check to make sure if there was anything else needed. The interior seems to be upgraded maybe bc this shopping center doesn't seem new but this inside of the place seems brand new. The food was good.

When in McCalla, definitely stop in for a frozen margarita or David's special sangria mix.

The guacamole was really good. My husband enjoyed his quesadilla with rice and beans. I got a taco salad that was supposed to be shredded chicken but was really just cubes chicken. It wasn't great. My husband saw a roach by our table on the way out. I probably wouldn't go back.

a bowl of tortilla chips

I thought I was having a late lunch for one after a dental procedure down the street, but they provided chips, dip AND a companion. I was a regular when this place first opened and I lived in the neighborhood but unfortunately like many restaurants, it looks like they have gone down hill. The young cashier didn't seem too concerned about it as she swiped my card. Why do they even ask "How was everything?", and not address the issue? I guess all I have left for SAG are memories. (and the last one will not be a good one) :(

Great service. Great food. Good prices. Have been coming here for 15 years. Got the fajita taco salad and fajita nachos-- so much food.

Have been twice now and both times service was poor. Food was average at best. There are much better options in the area.

Always good. Enchilada Verde is a great dinner. Love the salsa and chips. We eat there or get it to go at least once a week.

Wow! A spot-on real deal Mexican restaurant in the outskirts of Tuscaloosa! Who would have thunk…read moreit? OK, we're big-time Tex-Mex food fans, but we find it quite difficult to find high-quality Tex-Mex or even Mexican restaurants in the US south outside of Texas. This place is a game changer. When we stopped here, we were prepared to be disappointed in issuing two or three star rating at the most. Every single item we ordered was tasty and delectable. Our entrées were Carne Asada; and, Shrimp of the Devil (Camerones el Diablo). Both were fresh, tasty, and delicious. The shrimp were prepared in a special hot sauce, which was in an of itself, delectable (but only if you have a big glass of water to drink). My wife liked it so much she just wanted to taste the sauce! We weren't going to have dessert, but after watching several dessert pass by via the waitress to other tables, we decided order Flan and a mixture of a sopsvilla with fried ice cream. Ugh! Spectacular! If you're in the Tuscaloosa area, go and enjoy. It's worth it. Prices are reasonable. There's a happy hour for drinks. We had two margaritas each: very very good. This restaurant is located directly across the street from brand new Holiday Inn in Tuscaloosa at Cottondale, AL 35453.

Attached to a gas station with a door between the two; and restrooms in the gas station side only. The food was not to my taste, service was slow (and there were only four tables with customers at the time, including ours), and the wrestling decor was just a turnoff for me. I must be more of a Tex-Mex person. But if what I'm describing is your thing, then you may enjoy it. I will say that the other couple dining with my husband and me did really enjoy their food. But hubby and I won't be returning.

This was my first time consuming the well respected establishment of Frida's Cocina and Cantina…read more Usually my scores on Mexican food and Tex Mex cuisine can be viewed as quite critical amongst my peers because I spent many years in Houston, TX where Mexican is king. I ordered the Steak Fajita Burrito, which included a special gravy and cheese on top of an excellent fajita paired with tasty rice and refried beans. Words are not sufficient enough to describe how my tastebuds were taken on a rollercoaster ride of flavor. My peer ordered the Hawaiian Fajita which was cooked and served and a real pine apple. I was told that the flavor over delivered. I could not recommend this enough.

It was a nice day and I decided I wanted a patio and some margaritas. I have yet to try Fridas so I…read moregave it a try. I love the sunken patio which is perfect for relaxing in the shade. When we got seated outside by the friendly staff, we were given menus and free chips and salsa. As I nibbled on the chips and salsa which were just okay I browsed the drink menu. There's a full bar here and plenty of options. Over the course of the afternoon I tried the Frida's Rita and the wonderful rabbit. Both drinks weren't in your face with the tequila mezcal, they were mixed nicely and had a well rounded flavor. I much preferred the Woderful rabbit though as it tasted less watered down and the ginger beer paired with the mezcal was almost quenching. Overall if you're looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy Mexican cocktails this is a good spot! We did feel rushed to get out of there, and maybe it was because we weren't ordering food. Overall good experience however.
