I put a deposit down on a car because I was waiting on the sale of my vehicle to go through with another dealership. After giving it some thought I decided I wanted to trade my vehicle in on the car that I put a deposit down on because Muncie gave me a (verbal) comparable offer. I was asked to bring my car in to finalize everything and work the deal out and Muncie ended up changing my original offer, which changed the numbers we had already discussed. I wanted to think it over before I pulled the plug and before I left the dealership, he handed me a check for the deposit amount that I had put down, which I immediately clocked as a red flag. Shortly after leaving the dealership, I made the decision to go through with the updated numbers and called the dealership to let them know I would be by the following day (it was 15 min prior to close). I was transferred to Muncie's voicemail so I called again the next morning at 8:30 AM and was told that he had customers in his office and that he would call me back. After not receiving a call back I ended up calling the dealership again and was told Muncie had already left for the day. I was then transferred to my salesman, Jeremy (which I have nothing but GOOD things to say about) who informed me that Muncie sold the car that I was trying to buy. My family has purchased numerous vehicles from Rex Perry in the past. My dad currently has a vehicle sitting at the Rex Perry service department that's waiting on $3,500 worth of repairs and my mom is awaiting an estimate from Rex Perry on a trade in since she's currently looking for a Denali Acadia. We like to do business locally when we can, but when the locals you try to do business with could care less about earning or even keeping your business and are only looking to make a dollar, it's very discouraging and disappointing. If you're looking to buy a car just find the best deal, which isn't going to be at Rex Perry unfortunately.

I was buying everything site unseen so he sent me a walk around video, we spent hours going back and forth with questions and phone calls. He was shipping the car to me I got the price I wanted, all I wanted was to chose my payment so I could pick my money down. He asked for my credit so I said ok but don't run it until I get general numbers on payments. He said okay that's not an issue. A few minutes later he calls says we have a problem, the sales manager Tim had a local guy coming in they wanted to buy the car. What? No I'm one step away from closing the deal. I was paying to ship the car they weren't losing money on the deal but I lost out because I wasn't local! I yelled at the salesman he said he was going to fix it, that didn't happen. They sold the car to the local guy and after they did that they ran my credit. After the car was sold!!!! This car dealership is a crooked as they come. Don't give them the time of day! I am blown away at the way I was treated. I now have a hard inquiry on my credit after the sale of the car I wanted. I would never purchase something from them.
