Our family commutes over an hour away from San Diego to be seen there and have had wonderful experiences with the clinical team and Dr's. We had a random emergency issue that was found with one of our children and the clinical team moved very quickly so my son could recieve the care he needed. We also received multiple follow up calls after a procedure by Dr. Kennedy that showed he really cared for his patients. However their front office team is not the most welcoming and is not that accommodating when scheduling multiple children's appointments. Good luck getting appointments that fit your needs. They can at least try to be accommodating. They have a rude tone over the phone like your bothering them and won't schedule sick appointments if you try and book one that fits your schedule or beside one of your other children's appointments. They only allow appointments for same day sick only. Annoying. You have to call morning of instead of actually trying to plan an appt that fits your needs. One time, we were reprimanded for waiting in the wrong area for a sick visit, yet was not told to wait elsewhere after knowing we were there for a sick visit. I work front office in a high volume medical facility and I feel there is room for improvement to provide better service to families.

We continually went to see them stating his nose is always running, always congested, and breathing through his mouth for months. He had no signs of infection such as coughing, fever, lack of sleep. We knew he wasn't sick with a cold or similar virus. They didn't recommend seeing an allergist or ENT. Turns out we were right to see an ENT as he needed a small procedure. My primary care doctor, Dr. Serna, is amazing and always takes great care of me. I had an appointment with her today, but the office called to let me know she wasn't in and asked if I wanted to reschedule or see another doctor. Since I've been in significant ear pain, I chose to see Dr. Ashizawa just to get a referral to an ENT. My appointment was at 3:00, but he didn't come in until 3:50. After briefly looking in my ear and doing a quick ear drum test, he said nothing was wrong and that there was nothing more he could do. I asked if he could please send a referral to an ENT since I'm in a lot of pain and pressure, but he shrugged and said there was no point because they wouldn't do anything different. That's simply not true, he barely investigated the issue. I left after two hours with no diagnosis or help and am now debating whether to go to the ER or pay out of pocket to see a specialist. I'd highly recommend avoiding Dr. Ashizawa, he seemed completely dismissive and uninterested in helping his patients.

If the office was empty, I don't understand why patients are required to pay a $50 appointment fee online before even arriving, especially when that fee cannot be applied to the visit itself. I left without being seen, and in tears.
