San Clemente Sushi Company is very easy to find, right on the corner with its unique rounded turret architecture. This small plaza has its own parking lot with about a dozen spaces. The lot was about half full at 5pm on a Sunday. The dining room is small. There are five or six tables, and some seating at the sushi bar. It does have a nice feel with the round interior, high ceiling, and many windows with a nice view outside. There was some light background music playing. It wasn't busy this early, but it started to get busier after 5:30pm. We started out with the four piece jalapeno poppers ($10). These were very good. The jalapenos were crisp, stuffed with cream cheese, with two sauces drizzled on top. I think there was also a little spicy tuna on top. Next, we ordered a California roll ($8) and a spicy tuna roll ($9). These were good standard rolls with fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced, especially for the area. They have a menu of chef's special rolls which sounded good, and we decided to try the Pink Lady (Inside: Shrimp, Crab, Spicy Tuna, Avocado, Outside: Salmon, Jalapeno, Lemon, Soy Paper, Mustard Ponzu, $20). It might seem a little expensive, but it a roll with no rice. It was excellent, and well worth the money. If you love citrus like I do, you have to try it. I have never had pink lemon before. It's still tart but sweeter than a yellow lemon and less sweet than a Meyer lemon. Our server was friendly, and our food arrived promptly. We would return again when in the area. The only downside is that the restaurant is small. If the dining room is full, you may have to wait a while to be seated. read more

We came in around 8:20 p.m. and were informed they stopped taking orders at 8:40 p.m. That was no problem for us since we already knew what we wanted and were planning to eat and head out. The lady brought over the menus and each of the 3 of us made our selection and ordered miso soups. Everything came out rather quickly and was delicious. The lady did come back one more time after the food arrived to see if we wanted to order anything else, but we had more than enough! The prices are typical for sushi averaging about 20 per roll. The inside area was small, and the parking lot was on the smaller side as well, but we didn't have issues finding parking at that time of day. First impression dining in - small dining area, a lot of take out materials of covidpast Location: located near the freeway. Parking is limited and shared with the plaza. You park in the back and walk around the building to enter. Experience: service is quick and friendly. We have gone a couples times now and each time whether dine in or take out is the same. We generally get our sushi door dashed, but we have also dined in. Either option is great and fresh! We love the variety of selection they offer and the quality is top tier. After a long day at the PPA (pickleball) tournament at Lifetime in San Clemente, my husband, daughter and I were seeking dinner. I checked Yelp and saw that San Clemente Sushi Company was open for another 48 minutes, so I called to confirm they could accommodate our party of three... sure enough, they could! We arrived five minutes later to a table waiting for us. It's a small restaurant and it's not fancy at all, but it seems like it has been around awhile for good reason. We enjoyed some edamame, nigiri, maki, handrolls, and sashimi bento boxes... We probably over-ordered a bit, but it was all quality and served pretty quickly. Service was interesting in that we actually sat for awhile before being given menus and water, and one bento box came out a good five minutes before the other, but it was all good. Friendly service and good food! I've been seeing new changes to the restaurant and I'm a fan of the more modern, inviting look than what it was years ago. I've had a few friends mention this place again and I haven't been for a long time, so my family and I decided to give it a go. We came on a Friday night around 6pm and met Ben and Jen! They were so welcoming and told us there's been a change of ownership since early last year -- I've got to say the food quality is overall better and DELICIOUS. To top it off, they were so accommodating to my kids and their (rolling my eyes) demanding requests bc they are picky eaters. I'm looking forward to making this our weekly sushi eatery! We ordered some nigiri, Sushi Sampler, and the Unagi Don. Their nigiri ootions were not on their main menu but a sheet that you mark your selections. Strange that only the Unagi Don had no price on their menu. It was $19. Food came out timely and looked appealing. My unagi was good and the portion was big. A raving 5-star review for the San Clemente Sushi Company. I recently dined here during a visit to San Clemente for a wedding. The restaurant had a number of seats available on a Saturday night, so our party was able to get quickly seated. I ordered my usual, a baked salmon roll with eel sauce, garlic edamame, and snuck bites from the plates of others. I was impressed by the quality of each dish and the freshness of their sushi. SC Sushi Company also serves up an incredible bento box. I was able to sample their Chicken Katsu bento, which came with miso soup, crispy chicken katsu, gyoza, and tempura veggies. From the service to the food and ambiance, everything is of superior quality. I've had an omekase style dining as the Chef gave us some his personalized sashimi and roll which made the taste even better. My first time trying out San Clemente sushi Co and unfortunately I took the order to go because there were no seats available. Small dining area inside but that's ok. I ordered the katsu chicken bento box with extra gyoza. Well packaged and presented I'd say for a to go item. The chicken was very good, the shrimp tempura was awesome , and the gyoza was delicious. Nice portion size too so I was satisfied. Next time I go I'll try to go during a non peak hour and snag a table to try some of their sushi. Parking is not great because of the area but there is a small lot behind the restaurant if you're lucky. I found street parking and walked there. Staff was very friendly as well. read more
