First of all, they saved me from buying a new remote for my Viper car alarm sadly, I had to get a new alarm altogether, but at least I didn't waste money buying something I didn't need. I got my truck in there early Monday. It was done by 2 o'clock. They did a great job and most importantly I won't accidentally start my car anymore. On the alarm that was dying it had an auto start feature that I don't need in California. I might've needed it in Maine, but not here. Anyhow, they have good prices, friendly people quick turnaround. They were able to find the issue and thoroughly explain it to me so I could understand. (I'm not a stereo person). I explained to Chris I was trying to surprise the hubby by having it fixed and wasn't expecting to have to buy all new stuff due to others faulty work. I could have left but good thing I didn't. I brought my Kia EV6 in for a subwoofer upgrade as the stock Meridian system subwoofer just didn't have any bass at all. Rani helped me out and I told him what I was looking for and he gave me several options based on price points as I told him I had a budget in mind. I ended up going with the higher end sealed JL Audio 10" slim box powered by a JL audio amp because high quality sound is important to me. They were able to get my car in and get everything installed and tuned the same day! I am blown away by the depth and solid bass this combo puts out. I'm not sure how they did it, one of them must be pretty flexible to be able to get into the spot they put it in!!! 3 amps, 6 speakers, 12" sub, with custom wiring. They had to cut the sub into the side of a compartment that literally had to be perfectly placed and they nailed it! They even went out of their way to fix some stuff I previously had done at another shop. It's the fine details though that real show what a quality shop they are. I've bought a ton of stuff in my life, some great, some ehh. But although I've had some great experiences, I don't usually end up writing a review, 'cause, I ain't got time for that. However, I made an exception, 'cause well, sometimes you just have those experiences. I was at this body shop getting my windshield fixed and saw San Diego Car Stereo next door. I just walked in to see what they had. No intention of anything except to ask why my sound was as though balloons were deflating in slow motion. Walking into that stereo shop, I thought, uh-oh, I thought I was walking into a Target-Car Stereo but turns out, it was Louis Vuitton-Car Stereo. Fancy, fancy, and most likely not in my budgeting reality. But, I was already in and thought, hell, I'll just look around and try to fend off the salesman that I assumed would come at me, bombarding me with questions. Nope, that didn't happen, instead, I met Chris. The manager of the store, who surprisingly, wasn't pushy at all. Just friendly and letting me know any questions I had, he'd be happy to answer. I tried my best to explain what was wrong with my speakers - they sounded like they were popping popcorn and the bass was more like a whoopee cushion. Shockingly, Chris got it right away. He knew exactly what I meant and what could have been making E-40 sound a little drunk when I was bumping his music. I told him I wasn't looking to spend a fortune, just wanted to enjoy my tunes with a bit more kick. Chris was cool about it. He showed me some options, and I could tell right off the bat that a little upgrade would go a long way. And the crazy part? I was the one asking for more info, not the other way around. Chris wasn't pushing; he was just helping me figure it out. He suggested starting small with a couple of new speakers and maybe adding an amp later on. He told me my old Camry didn't need the fanciest gear to sound awesome and that some upgrades didn't need to break the bank. So he showed me the difference in sound and wrote me a phased plan if I chose to do anything. I left that day and thought about it for a couple of weeks. Then, I couldn't take it anymore. My music was giving me road rage. So I reached out to Chris and told him, let's do it. And the adventure began the very next day. I dropped the car off and anxiously awaited the call that it was done. When my phone rang, Chris said jokingly, "You better get down here and get your car, 'cause the neighbors are all coming over wondering what kind of party we are having in the garage because the speakers are so loud." I practically skipped over. Chris, with a big smile on his face, said, "Ready to hear some E-40 like you've never heard him before?" Chris jumped in the passenger seat, and we jammed out to my favorite tracks right there. Chris was just as excited about the upgrade as I was, which shocked me. I had absolutely no idea just how much of an upgrade I was getting. But like, Whoa. Chris recommended the perfect setup, perfect for my "Target" budget, and yet, its definitely "Loui Vuitton" This whole experience was epic. It wasn't just buying a stereo; it was stumbling into a very memorable adventure. Every time I hop in my car now, it feels like a mini-concert, and I can't help but smile because I remember how amazing the whole experience was. Now, I just wish every shopping trip could feel like this - not just buying stuff, but making a connection and having a blast. But I guess, these kinds of experiences are only reserved for the really special places like San Diego Car Stereo and Chris making all the difference in the world. 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL: The guys at the Escondido store did a great job with my application. I initially installed a Stinger HEIGH10 radio, which caused an issue with volume control. They replaced all of the modules and head unit. However, this did not fix the issue. Finally, I decided to upgrade to the new Stinger HORIZON10. This is a superior unit to HEIGH10. I received full credit for the HEIGH10, and the subsequent installation went smoothly. I am very satisfied with the Horizon radio, and he work from San Diego Car Stereos. read more

I stopped in after work because I wanted to upgrade the speakers in my F250 and had a couple questions about different brands and speaker configurations. Chris took the time to go over all my questions and answer all of them, at no point did he try to upsell me, actually when I started asking about sound deadening he told me on my truck it wouldnt really be beneficial unless I planned to do the entire cab and to save the money. Needless to say I went home with some new focal speakers, 5x7s for the rear and I decided to upgrade the front to 6.5 components with some adapter plates. The rears went in fine but I wasn't able to get the 6.5s to fit into the adapter plates, so I gave Chris a call and he told me to bring the truck in. Not only did he make some custom adapters for the speakers to fit in, but he went ahead and installed them along with the cross overs and tweeters. When they finished working on the truck he handed me the keys and told me he wasn't going to charge me for the install because he had recommended speakers that didn't fit and he wanted to make it right. I was shocked, they easily worked on my truck for 4 hours. They new speakers sound amazing and the customer service was the best I've had in a long time. We will definitely be doing back for all our audio needs. read more
