Seriously bad business practice. I went in for a massage. The lady told me for a one hour massage it cost $70 plus (get this) I HAVE TO TIP $30. Then she points to the sign on the counter. I asked her why don't you just charge a $100 and be up front about it? She said you have to tip at least $30. I asked her what if the massage is not good? Since when did tips become mandatory? Walked in to get a massage and paid before the massage to which they charged a 3% fee for using CC. There was no option to leave a tip after being charged so I had to add the tip using my CC again and the front desk lady pretended like she didn't understand me when I asked her if she was going to charge a 3% fee for charging my CC AGAIN! Received the massage which was mediocre. Did my entire backside and when she flipped me over did not apply any oil and massage but rather just keep the sheet on and pressed down on me for a few minutes. Lame. During the massage they were cooking food in the back and the entire place smelled like food. There were people running up and down the hall and slamming doors while I was trying to relax. I walked in to this place with some crazy shoulder pain. They were able to take me right away, and the massage therapist even gave me some stretches and exercises to do and showed me how to stretch the muscles that are screwy. Will def be back. Very fairly priced and clean. read more

Strained/pulled muscle in lower back. Had Yoyo as masseuse. Explained problem area and discomfort. Dhe did a great job of applying correct amount of pressure to my problem area. She would check with me for amount of pressure and correct area. I couldn't handle deep pressure and Yoyo got it correct. I brought Icy Hot with me and she even applied for me after massage. I am just now having the time to do some updates on Yelp... Months ago I much needed a foot massage, so I called to make an appointment. I'm pretty neutral to accents of other countries, having many family and friends that have the mediocre or thick accents I've come accustomed to understanding them. I find it to be a problem though when you make a call (to a business catering in the USA) and the person on the receiving side cannot understand a single word you are saying, and there is no one there to help translate. WTH, how in the world are you suppose to communicate. So since the store was near our home I decided to drive out and try to communicate. I ended up having to "draw" a picture so they would understand. Yes, I needed a reasonable priced, foot massage that bad! I've gotten a massage here in the past and was VERY satisfied but the last time I came in the women doing my massage stopped TWICE to assist walk-in clients AND to top it off she didn't make up the time she took alway from my massage! My appointment was at 4:15, I used the restroom before getting started and she left me twice... ending my massage at 4:15. Well, can you really expect an A+ massage for $25? Guess not. It's not so much the place, but the massage techniques. Three of us went up there for the "foot massages" as they've come to be called. All of us made the same comments: excessive pushing of fingertips into scalp (ow), not enough deep tissue and the "itching" of the hair was just downright annoying. There were a few moments of bliss, but mostly uncomfortable massaging, if you can even call it that. Flipping over in the chair was really awkward, my chin was pushed so far in to the chair that my jaw hurt. Painful. While the foot massage was going on, the music was hilarious. It went from cheesy Korean melodies to Korean rap- "You my homeboy, yeah, moo-fah-dong-wah!" Whatever. Not the worst experience but I'll skip it next time. read more

She works hard for the money! Caroleann had the layout perfect and the costs were the same. I just did a walkin on a friday afternoon and although skeptical because of the location, i had a wonderful massage. A reflexology foot massage that lasted a full hour. Not sure if i had Lee or not, but whoever it was, she worked hard every minute. Music was a bit quirky . . . still xmas in January. The place was quiet and calm. I'm a fan of getting massages especially reflexology foot massage. I was hesitant to go in the first place because there are so many "happy ending places" in North County & didn't want to get any surprises. Well let me say there were no surprise endings. The first time I went, I was seen by Devi and boy did he do the job. He hit every pressure point and I left there so relaxed. I went again yesterday and was seen by Mary. I wasn't sure she would do the job but that woman proved me wrong. She's got some strong hands. She even cracked my back too. The reason I only gave them 4 stars is because the times I've gone there's no coverage up front. When someone would come in to ask questions, they would have to stop to help the person. And when they were in the same room they'd whisper to each other as if I weren't in the room. It's a bit annoying when you're trying to relax but for 1 hr massage @$25. Her massage was a hack job. I left just as tense as I had come in. A lot of pinching and weight leaning. Most of the massage was done with their forearms and their deep tissue massage consisted of leaning in. No kneading or actual massaging performed. By the time she reached my feet she was pushing and pulling and slapping. I didn't know those were massage techniques. Also, did not appreciate that they exposed my butt. Horrible don't waste your money came here on a late appointment 8pm because that's all that was available. Put it this way the massage therapist spoke no English and was a horrible therapist they make you pay before hand I even paid an extra $5 for deep tissue but all I got was a light skin rub down I kept telling her deep tissue? But she did not understand I almost wanted to walk out half way through but stuck it out since I already paid and there was no one else at the shop I could complain to. Save yourself the grief and find a more reputable massage place. I kept my receipt thinking I would call back the next day to complain to a manager but forgot I was like even if I had called what they offer maybe a discount for another massage forget that just never coming back. read more

My first time here was a couple of weeks ago. Things started out good. I called in about 10 minutes before and got an appointment right away. The place was clean and quiet. I opted for the 30 minute body and 30 minute foot massage. They do make you pay upfront before you get a massage. I didn't like their massage table. There wasn't a hole to place your face down into, so I had to squish my nose into the table the entire time. The massage lady came in and went right to work and started off on my back. The pressure was good, but then I asked that she try to focus on my neck a little more and that was not very good. Just a lot of pinching. Lastly was the foot massage and that did not involve much massage. Just a lot of up and down the foot. So for me, I wouldn't go back. My review won't differ much from others. Price is a good deal for just walking in a/o appt. The quality of massage is good but not outstanding. When I walked in the lady at the desk was my "one stop shop"...she asked me what I wanted as she pointed to the two vague signs then quoted me the price followed by "it vewy good pwice". I wanted a 50 min massage plus 20 min reflexology. Don't try to deviate and ask specifics as they don't speak enough English to understand. They expect payment up front which to me is totally unprofessional, AND then charge a fee for credit cards which speaks volumes about why they push hard for untraceable revenue. She made it a point to say "you pay a da cash ok?" several times. The same lady escorted me to a private room and told me to undress. A few minutes later she came back in and apparently she was also the masseuse. The distractions were as follows: her clicking heels on the hardwood floor, her leaving the room approximately 10 to 12 times to answer the phone or help a walk-in, and get the hot stones. She left the door a few inches open during most of my massage. She spent a lot of time on my back which is good and the stone rub is well worth the $5 extra but I would have loved them on my legs and feet too. Most places leave the stones sitting on or under your body to penetrate. The head massage started out awesome but got to the point where my scalp was raw. She barely spent a fleeting moment working my fingers and hands. Overall she rubbed really fast as if spreading suntan lotion on a stranger. The climax was when she did my feet. She put on some rough plastic cleaning gloves (not soft latex) and rubbed my feet and lower legs so fast and harsh I nearly flew off the table. I was writhing in agony and kept pulling my legs back saying ouch and she would grab hold my delicate boney feet and keep rubbing. I was relieved when she left to get hot towels. On my back and arms the hot towels were soothing but when she went after my feet and lower legs with one I was almost in tears it hurt so bad. She kept rubbing fast and the friction and heat made it downright painful. At the end she lifted both legs off the table several feet up then just dropped them. Hard. And now my lower back is so sore I can't bend over. Maybe some of you will have a different experience. I just expect soft calming music and a slow firm massage without distractions. I have a terminal illness that makes my bones and joints extremely sore so massage and reflexology are an absolute necessity. Its more expensive to go to Karma on El Camino and Marron by sprouts but the experience is euphoric and they really listen to what you ask or tell them about what you do and don't like. Even Asia spa in Vons parking lot is a better option. The foot detox will freak you out when you see what toxins come out. read more

I kinda love this place right now. I called to see how late they were open because I really needed a massage after putting the baby to bed. Amy answered the phone and said that they were closing, but she would wait for me if I could come in right away. (5 stars right there!) the ambience isn't anything to write home about but who cares? If you're like me you have your eyes closed the entire time anyway. Amy's deep tissue massage was amazing and cost only 40 bucks! We've been coming here for a couple years now. Foot massage is a full body (not sure why they and everyone else calls it a foot massage). 25$. Lee is awesome. They're super nice, not much needs to be said other than a smile and thank you. I've recommended this place to many friends and I've gotten good good feedback from them. Massages are good. Zero stars...why..because I had a very upsetting experience last week Monday with David as my masseur. I am a trained massage technician ( over 300 hours) and love checking out all of these newer massage studios opening up around town- due to great service, technique and, well yes price. I was a walk in, and had a very hard time understanding David as I was asking about pricing, ect. His understanding of what I wanted was hindered by him not understanding English. But, finally we agreed to a price and service. The initial massage was great with technique and, but as the massage went on David overstepped his bounds with his "very too friendly" massage strokes, and touched me too close to private areas that where just out of line....and the cupping of my inner thighs and buttocks where just too much. I was so relaxed, then well, shocked that a professional would take advantage like that! What if this was my first experience and I got David! He brings down the profession of massage with low morals, ethics and complete unprofessionalism. I tried to get my money back, but again, communication was really poor. I then wrote a letter, and no response. Called to get owner/manager info and again, no one speaks English. I will not give up here. I feel this is a terrible injustice, for me, and for the world of massage. Massage is an Art and a income for many that are professional, and businesses like San Diego Foot Massage should be ashamed they are putting their reputation on the line and the good reputation of all massage businesses have been trying at attain "professional status" for decades. If the owners are reading this..(some how I doubt this)...do the right thing! read more
