Went to the 4-week puppy school. It was great information. It was fun to see the changes in the puppies over the 4-weeks. They became confident and learned so much. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Looking forward to the next class, obedience[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Thanks!

on class 1 Carlie would have not let any dogs close to her, by class 3 she was running towards the other dogs :)

I took my 4 month old Cavapoo puppy Carlie to Rob's puppy training as she was experiencing a lot of fear with other dogs in regard to socializing. On class one it was a bit heartbreaking to see her so scared and that is when Rob gave me the tools to not save her in the setting and let her work it out AND began helping Carlie find her confidence. By class 3 Carlie was rolling around with the her new bestie in which was a very sweet (large) Rottweiler puppy! She literally had made massive strides in her demeanor, built confidence so quick, and found herself making new pup friends. Rob is an amazing trainer and not only trains the pups but the parents too :) Highly recommend for all puppies... so great and actually a lot of fun for the dog parents too.

The information and experience of both Rob and Julia were definitely on display during our very first obedience class. I was pleasantly surprised to see my overly enthusiastic pup actually learn the commands, have playtime, and both of us become good students of animal behavior. The expertise of these instructors go beyond the practical, with a deep understanding of both dog and human and their environment I strongly recommend with two thumbs up, San Diego pet training

We have loved the trainings with Rob for our dog Sienna. We completed Obedience 1 and are midway through Obedience 2. Our dog was a rescue and we had her 2 months when we started training. She was about 18 months old and likely spent some time on the streets. She was not potty trained, scared of people and dogs and did not know any commands. She has been thriving in the training. She loves the training and has gained so much confidence. She also has done very well with the dog socialization. She has learned so much in training and it has helped with her socialization and learning beyond the training program. Rob has a great demeanor and positive approach. He is very knowledgeable and patient with us while we work with our dogs. I have really looked forward to the classes and hope for an Obedience 3 to keep it going. We highly recommend training with Rob.

We highly recommend Rob Kuty (SD Pet Training) for your dog training, behavior management needs. He is extremely knowledgeable, insightful, & professional. Both Rob & his team return calls & emails quickly, they listen closely to your concerns/questions, & do their best to accommodate your schedule (with private training). Rob is always patient...we have never felt rushed or hurried. He is kind, positive, & encouraging to both dog & human. We have left every single session more knowledgeable, well equipped with information, & very, very happy. We have hired Rob's private training services multiple times & will continue to do so. We needed his help with our 2 year old, recently rescued, very large, very smart, German Shepherd. We needed help with leash pulling, unwanted herding behaviors, & socialization practice. In reality, we are the ones who needed the training tune-up! I can honestly say that Rob not only addressed our issues/questions, he went above & beyond our expectations. You'd expect the trainer to have immediate results, but he gave us the tools in our toolbox of knowledge to have the exact same success. We are beyond happy with his training guidance. At this time, due to the country's "shelter at home" directive, we are enrolled in his online training course until we are free to be able to join one of his group classes. We also very much look forward to enrolling our dog in his agility classes too. We want to soak up everything Rob has to teach us! Finally, the thing that we love most of all about Rob is that he not only loves all animals & is an impeccable trainer, but the fact that he respects & honors the breed. As Rob has said to us, "You don't want to train the breed out of the dog." Yes! That's exactly what we needed to hear. We love the GSD breed for so many reasons & we want our amazingly smart boy to be himself. Rob has shown us that we, not just our dog, simply need to know our boundaries & respect each other. With Rob that is not just a possibility. It's a guarantee. It is our opinion that Rob is the ONLY trainer for German Shepherds. Hands down.

    The best boy!!

We have done Group Obedience Training AND private trainings with Rob Kuty. SD Pet Training communicates fast and is flexible to your schedule. Rob is extremely patient and is very knowledgeable. Group obedience training is also awesome because your dog can learn from other dogs, and they include off-leash play time and Rob matches your dog's personality with a compatible doggy friend to play with! Our rescue, Stone, can be extremely hyperactive when it comes to play time with other dogs and Rob matched our dog with another energetic dog that played well with him. For that, Stone has a life-long friend and continues to play with him outside of classes. Thank you everyone at SD Pet Training!!

Dear Pet Parents, Don't go anywhere else but Rob!!! He is awesome! We adopted our two year old Brees and our main issues were that he shows aggression during walks and he is a runner (runs out the door as soon as it opens). Not only it was stressful but we were worried to lose him. Once we started with Rob he worked with us through each of our concerns. Communication was great from beginning to end. We've learned that Rob is very knowledgeable about dogs and training. He shows us alternate options on tactics and advice helping us become better pet parents. With the tools and training we gained, Brees is showing good results. Don't be mistaken it's still a work in progress. Rob's certainly passionate about his craft and it shows. He is open for questions and doesn't make you feel like your a bother. We are thankful for Rob's prodigious efforts and follow up. We are very happy we found him and would love to refer the San Diego Pet Training to all.

Rob was great with our dog. They sent daily videos of her progress. They provided the attention and time that our dog needed. We were very grateful for the tools that have us for having a well trained dog.

    Brody.

As someone who had fostered puppies, I assumed I would only need a few sessions when we adopted our GSD/Pyrenees puppy, Betty. However, now I wish I had bought Christine's infinity package, so we could train with her forever and ever. Primarily, Christine is a highly knowledgeable and passionate dog trainer. She has provided an in-depth understanding of dog behavior and the psychology of dog training. This foundation has been invaluable in helping us develop a successful ongoing training relationship, and in helping Betty become a loving member of our family. Secondly, she has also served as an unofficial puppy doula and mentor. She has always been happy to get on the phone and talk us through problems in between sessions, and even guide us in choosing a vet and groomer. I don't know how we would have managed without her during those sleepless nights and feelings of sadness and regret. Lastly, she is a gentle and calming presence--the type of person that was born to work with animals. She has taught us how to be effective dog parents using only positive reinforcement and kindness. Working with Christine has been a gift that will continue to provide value for many years to come!

Two words: Call Christine…read more No words can truly capture how much Christine helped us in our journey with our dog, Poppy. We got Poppy when she was about 3 months old, and she was a very anxious puppy. As brand-new dog parents, we really wanted to do everything right. Unfortunately, early on we enrolled her in a daycare/train-style program that was very discipline-focused, and it ended up making things worse. Poppy regressed a lot and became even more anxious. That's when we found Christine. From the start, Christine was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She helped us undo a lot of the stress and fear that had developed and guided us step by step toward building Poppy's confidence again. What stood out most was that Christine didn't just train our dog -- she helped us grow as dog parents too. Her passion for animals is so obvious in the way she works. She regularly checked in, sent helpful podcasts and articles, and made sure we had the tools we needed between sessions. I also really appreciated that she spaced out the training sessions so we had time to practice and actually see progress. The transformation has been amazing. Poppy went from being too anxious to even get out of the car at a park to confidently walking around Carlsbad Village. Even more importantly, the bond between Poppy and me has grown so much through this process. I truly couldn't have done this without Christine, and I'm so grateful we found her. If you're struggling with your dog or just want to set them up for success, she is the person to call.

"Boot camp" options seemed extreme, so I called Bark Busters (BB), seeking in-home private lessons. Justin responded the same day I left a message, and we talked about my concerns with our new rescue. I decided to try the BB program, which ended up being the BEST DECISION for my pup and for me! Justin set up our first session with trainer/coach James. James spent much of the 1st session going through the goals, objectives and concepts of training, including a timeline based on reasonable expectations of my dog. James spent a lot of time explaining how to "read" my dog's behavior, and how to properly respond. He explained the concepts behind each step, which helped me to understand not just what to do, but why (thus enabling me to understand how to deploy the training to different situations). James also set up scenarios to practice, going through each step so I could gain confidence in what my role is while helping my dog settle. It really is about training the owner how to work with the dog. James provided summaries of each session, plus videos demonstrating how I can use different responses/techniques to reshape how my dog reacts to stressful situations. I saw significant progress very early in the training, and was surprised at how quickly we were able to help my dog understand his role (and to feel safe) in our home. The best part is that if I need more help, I just have to reach out to James/BB and schedule more sessions - this is included in the initial program. Given that it takes a rescue dog a while to COMPLETELY settle in, new issues could arise as time passes, and if so, all I have to do is call to set it up. In summary, Bark Busters is a GREAT dog training program, and James is a FANTASTIC BB trainer/coach! Definitely recommend BB to owners that want help with their dogs!

Club Pet had all our dog's information, including her breed, vaccinations, etc, and discussed the social package and group play in detail with us when we toured the facility. She is a 3 year old shepherd mix and has had extensive group play at Snug Pet Resort, as well as other venues. She has never been in an altercation with another dog or human in her life. In fact, she had group trainings at Helen Woodward with Rob Kuty. We brought her in the next day (the afternoon before our travels) so Rob could do a temperament confirmation, since he hadn't trained her in a year. He took her in the back and brought her back to us about 10 minutes later, stating she was not aggressive even when other dogs barked at her; she just backed away. During their absence, we confirmed our intention to purchase 4 social packages so she would have group play while kenneled there. As we were leaving, the receptionist informed us Club Pet would not be offering group play to her. We were puzzled and asked what we needed to do beyond passing the temperament test. We were told to ask Rob. We immediately emailed Rob with our question and were informed it is a NEW POLICY of Club Pet to deny group play to ANY Shepherd. We were told to ask Club Pet what we could do to prove her worthy. I called Club Pet and the same receptionist apologized and stated it was a NEW POLICY of a month or so, and there is no system in place to overcome the prejudice to Shepherds. Since we were leaving the following morning, we had no choice but to leave her in their kennel for 4 days. We did sign up for the 2 one-on-one exercise package per day. There is no mention of this NEW POLICY in their brochure they gave us, on the laminated rate sheet they went over with us at the receptionist counter, on their website, or anywhere else. In fact, the brochure states: "GROUP PLAY REQUIREMENTS: Pass temperament test; Spayed/neutered; Up to date on flea preventative." Nothing about breed prejudice. And, of course, they charged us $30 for the temperament test (which I successfully contested). Shame on Club Pet!
