They came back out once the correct fan arrived and installed it. I paid them again and managed to get a refund for the first installation from Amazon (with some persistent complaining). It's FIXED!.... by this solo electrician (former Army veteran) to my house on a Sunday, within 1…read morehour of my first call. I picked Tim out of about 9 respondees that Yelp quotes sent out for me. The breaker that flipped was already replaced (about 2017), he said today they cost $250 just for the part. I paid $125 in 2017 for part and labor. I saw Tim's solid 5 Yelp stars, said he does not charge diagnostic, and if he had to fix it, it would be a "to help me senior" rice (I made that up). Other electrician responses said free diagnostic but if I didn't hire them to fix it, I pay them $77 to $199 trip charge applied to labor. But no one said what their labor rate would be. Tim came in an hour. Turned out he got the breaker to flip, when I hung my body weight on it, and also pushed it up with all my might, and it would not click down or up, just was loose in the middle. Tim said he can fix things other people (like his two sons) just cannot budge. He spent an hour at my house testing things, and moved a 12 year old Panasonic microwave I had in the garage and swapped that with a 1990's Sharp really heavy one to my car, to donate. That Sharp microwave uses electricity big time and trips the breaker, but not the breaker he came to fix because I had that microwave in the family room because it was tripping the breaker when it was next to my fridge, which is also 1970's. He replaced an electrical socket, cos it went bad when he plugged the newer microwave, included in the labor charge. But he didn't cost him time or labor to make the breaker work again. I told him I tried to pull it down with all my might 10 times, and it wouldn't go down, and would not go up and stay there. Tim is solo, no employees because he had a big crew and they were flakey and making costly mistakes that he has to answer to. So now it is only him and his truck, so he could work cheap. He did me a favor giving me a labor price break, that gives him gas money and then some. He came a long ways to get to my house (to ME). Tim was not greedy for money, but he doesn't take credit cards and I didn't have cash cos I thought he took credit card. But I paid Tim after he left with Zelle. He was very friendly and said "I just love helping people", (not about money). I could tell how much he enjoys his job and his passionn shows MAKING THINGS RIGHT FOR PEOPLE and MAKING THEM HAPPY. He said my Zinsco is fine, not like its gonna burn my house down. Other electrcians told me same about Zincco, starting fires is not common. Wjhen I told Tim one electrician told me "Don't keep flipping the breaker, cos it could start a fire". Tim said Baloney! Here is picture of my Zinsco sagging breaker, the red pair on the left, that I just could not pull down, or push up with all my might! Tim was fun to have around my house!
