As I continued to shop around, I realized the customer service, follow-ups and my many questions put this company at the top. I signed and they gave me an approximate timeline. It was seamless and "almost" right on the projected time frames. Through the process they kept me up to date and were available for a few questions I had along the way. The installation crew came out and they were EVEN better than the customer service and sales rep. Eduardo Naranjo needs a promotion and a raise. The man was so humble, genuine and all around a great guy. He dealt with my kids and many dogs with no fear lol. He was professional and kept me apprised of everything the crew was doing. At then end of the installation I was sad to see the man and his team go because they were so personable and efficient. First and foremost Gabe at Aloha Solar was the ONLY one where it didn't feel sales pitchy. He went to college for this, believe he grew up off grid on Maui and you can tell right away he's knowledgeable and a straight shooter. Not to mention he had the best pricing and deal out of every other company! Gabe made us feel comfortable with our decision, gave us all the information we wanted, and actually drove out to our house multiple times to chat when we had additional questions and concerns. Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. I did, and he then painted all of the piping! I know he did not have to do that, so that was a fantastic touch. I would like to update my experience the tech did claim he changed my capacitor, then claimed I had…read morea leak in my refrigerant... then kept trying to push me to change the whole AC system for 4-5 k then gave me quotes for 12-13 k. When the real issue was the capacitor! Which is only maybe 50 bucks at any hardware store. He tried to keep me away from the only true issue. See pics for proof But I will say this the owner contacted me and apologized for this awful experience. I really appreciate and respect that. He offered to reimburse me for this experience and I respect that. He looked into the issue and he took accountability and that's not common. So I really appreciate how this situation was handled. I will still warn everyone to always get a second opinion and be careful out there. I will be giving them another chance as long as this situation never happens again.

Installing the solar panels actually took only about a day when Johnny and Victor came out. Johnny was very helpful in explaining how to set up the Powerwall battery with my phone. Johnny and Victor did a great job with the installation and there were barely any hiccups throughout the process. Sepehr was very responsive throughout the whole process and gave me a competitive price for the solar panels and battery. Both Sepehr and Johnny patiently answered all my questions. Then, a few months ago, one of the gateways needed to be replaced (not the fault of GC Electric but of the manufacturer). We were getting installation quotes from other companies for ~$500. GC Electric offered to do it for free, came out the same week, and did it in just an hour. Solar is a big investment. As a 20 year sales and service professional, this company gets 1 star from me for their poor…read morecustomer service. As someone who relies on word-of-mouth reputation and customer service for my own personal business, this company fails across the board. 1) We had an issue with our solar panels so we called Solar Tech first thing in the morning. The phone operator told us we would get a call back from one of the techs later on that day. FIVE days went by before we even got a response back, and it was in the form of a text message asking us what problems we were having. If a customer is calling you for help, the last thing you should do is make them wait almost a week to get a response, and then have them explain to you what is wrong over text. Very poor professionalism. STRIKE 1. 2) The tech told us the next available appointment was 1 full week away, so not only did we wait FIVE full days for a text response, but we had to wait another full week for any resolution of service. STRIKE 2 3) The day of our appointment, thankfully, we had the first appointment of the day scheduled as we had a very busy day with other obligations so we were hoping to have everything completed by mid morning. After about 4 hours of the company no-show/no-call/no-text, we decided to call the company to find out the status of our appointment. We got a voicemail instead of someone live, so we left a message. A few hours later we finally got a call back saying someone will show up later that day. And they did finally show up at the very end of the workday. STRIKE 3 This was a very VERY disappointing experience. From poor follow up, poor customer service, and just a poor company all around. For someone like me, my sales/service business relies heavy on customer service. I've provided 1000s of recommendations and referrals of vendors for roofing, plumbing, solar, electrical work and more over the last 20 years, and i can say that I will never recommend this company as their lack of customer service would reflect very poorly on me and my business. The last thing I would ever want to do is upset a client or customer as they are the backbone of any business.
