Menudo and pozole on the weekends!

Opens early, great food and fast service. Taste like home. I'm so glad we live so close now.

    #20

Always nice women who work or are the owners best plate #20 I love when I crave their food... today I also tried agua Fresca and the rolled tacos with cheese so good

SO disappointing! I've been here before and ordered a carne asada burrito before and I am from San Diego so I know what a carne asada burrito should be! I ordered a carne asada burrito plate. See the picture! That's not carne asada! That is just shredded beef just cut up! Also lacking guacamole! The burrito size isn't that big for the price! I ordered to go so I didn't go back and won't be going back!

We stumbled upon this taco shop when we were out shopping in the area this weekend. We were so pleased to see that it reminded us of a very popular chain we frequented in Los Angeles. The menu was identical and the food was reminiscent of what we had missed when we moved here. Plenty of options of choice of meats for tacos, tostada, torta, sopes, rolled tacos (taquitos). We were overly excited because we ordered too much food and both my husband and I were overly full. The barbacoa and carnitas are a standout, but I'm sure all of their meats are delicious. They have combo plates which we didn't get so I can't speak to their rice or beans. I will say that the guacamole wasn't very flavorful. They give you lime wedges with the tacos, so we used that to jazz up the guacamole. The restaurant is unassuming and welcoming. The staff was friendly. It was nice to hear Spanish speakers. I will say that I had to deduct a star because their air conditioning was not working. With 108 degree weather, it was no bueno.

    Picadillo and Beef Fajita Tacos

Having lived in San Diego, this place reminds of a local taco shop in California. The flavors are more akin to the Mexican food you would find there. There is less cheese associated with the Tex Mex (which I love too) here in Texas. I got the Picadillo and Fajitas tacos. The tacos were small but comparable to street tacos in size at other places. This place is not as fancy as Torchy's or Rusty's Tacos. The quality is better than a fast food chain like Taco Cabaña or Taco Bueno. Will come back again.

    Sope. Delish!

This place is literally 0.3 miles from the condo, my husband has already been here a few times for breakfast tacos. I sent him for a pick up dinner. It is difficult to figure out what to order since you need to look at the blurry menu photos on Yelp - there is no website and no menu posted on Yelp. (My husband did ask for a paper menu that I was going to photo clearly and post, but they said they did not have any.) I ordered the #1 (might as well start at the top right?) a beef taco and a cheese enchilada. We also ordered a carnitas sope to split. The sope was my favorite, and would be perfect for a light (small qty, not diet) dinner. I really enjoyed the tacos, they obviously fry the corn tortillas in house. My lease favorite was the cheese enchilada, those really need to be eaten directly after assembly, the one was a bit cold and no cheesy stringy-ness.

Potatoes, Egg, Cheese breakfast burrito Absolute 10 on all cards via the Olympic card grading system.

I generally only get a variety of forms that the breakfast burrito can be ordered in, but the food is always super superior. I've never had another breakfast burrito that is better that I didn't make at home.

Steak breakfast burrito was delicious! I ordered to go and it was still hot when I got home. Decent amount of steak. Will definitely come back for lunch. They have a ton of choices on the menu. Service was fast as well.

Food and service is spectacular! Real Mexican food! Have driven here 3 times in two weeks from Plano. Can't get enough of this place!

Wow San Diego Taco shop I was so skeptical one because the tacos in Texas don't always hit but mostly because I've had actual tacos in San Diego, but let me tell you these are some of the best tacos in Dallas truly & I'm from California lol. I had two carne asada tacos with everything and it was delicious! Fire like really authentic! I had the nachos also and they weren't bad but I'd stick to the tacos ! Also amazing agua fresca I had cantaloupe and it was 12/10 should have got a large.

When we asked the manager about it, he didn't seem to know they changed this. 10/25/25 was 8.25% tax (including alcohol in the order). All recent bills were anywhere from 13% to 16.5% hidden in the "tax" line, not even itemized. I'm sure because they know most won't realize it. This may explain why on a Friday at 5pm (even with a social hour) the bar was empty except for one other couple. Not going to reduce the stars since I like many of the long-timers that work here, but whoever is running the show now should probably re-examine their decisions. #WWFD

The menu leans Mexican fusion, with standout seafood and steak options across the board. One of my personal favorites is their sea bass special with pineapple reduction. It's beautifully balanced sweet, savory, and rich without being heavy and comes with perfectly cooked charred vegetables on the side. The drinks are excellent, especially the margaritas, which definitely lean on the stronger side, fair warning that one drink can feel like two. Save room for dessert too; they offer a solid selection of cakes and sweets that are a great way to close out the meal. Service is attentive and warm, and they also have private group dining rooms available, making it a great option for corporate events or holiday parties. Valet parking is available, but there's also plenty of convenient parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, Via Real is a reliable, elevated dining experience that still feels welcoming and rooted in tradition, a Las Colinas classic for a reason.

Lol But I also want to support this small restaurant and brag about literally how delicious everything is. From the empanadas that are cheesy and meaty you could eat as a meal alone, to all the flavors of each sauce they offer is exceptional. The poblano sauce is so good, I'd like to get a job in the kitchen for the recipe. We also asked for a side of the mole sauce just to try, it was smoky, sweet, and the right amount of spices. The tacos remind me of the tacos I get in Mexico with the grilled pineapple and picked onions. The salsa offered with the chips is warm and I love that. Will definitely be a go to restaurant for me. I forgot to snap a picture but I'll list some things I tried: Empanadas- 10/10- a must order. Flavor, texture, and taste are all amazing. Molé enchiladas- the molé is so good- especially for Dallas since most places are Tex Mex and molé is more Mexican. Definitely order if this is in your "taste profile." Lunch specials- I don't even know if this is on their website but they have a great lunch menu and they have a lunch combo special where you can pick two items for $10.50 and it comes with rice and beans. I ordered the cheese enchilada and the mini chimichanga. Full disclosure I didn't eat the mini chimichanga because I didn't know it was covered in queso and I hate queso (unpopular opinion- I know). I loved the enchilada though and it had chili con carne sauce which was delicious. Rice and beans were also very good. Next time I'll just say no queso on the chimi. The restaurant is really tiny but cozy and you can tell it is family owned. Definitely will be a regular spot for me and will be back.

The manager also came and gave us free beef fajita samples since he found out it was our first time. The flavor and juiciness of the beef blew me away. My wife and I got queso to compliment the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa and bean dips. I was a big fan of the beans too, didn't think I would be. We ended up getting a trio (beef, chicken, shrimp) fajita 1/2 pound and it was perfect for the 2 of us. You can taste the grilled and charred flavor on the meats. The chicken and shrimp were slightly on the drier side but when combined with the sour cream, beans, guac, cheese, they were perfection. For the two people, the limitation ended up being more the toppings to the fajitas but it was just enough. At about $25 for 2, that was a steal. The queso was about $9. Right before we were about to leave, Kayla recommended the tres leches dessert and you know we had to try it. It was solid. Loved the cream on top. Definitely would come back again!

Living in Sioux Falls has many positives, but distinct and deeply flavorful Mexican cuisine is unfortunately still something that's a little harder to come by compared to places like Arizona or Texas. So, we made it a point to stop at Lupe Tortilla while passing through Irving. The first thing we noticed was how packed the restaurant was during lunch. People were pouring in steadily, and the atmosphere had that energetic local favorite feeling where you know people come because they genuinely enjoy the food. Thankfully, the meal itself delivered. Now, was it the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had? No. But it was still leagues beyond most of what we've experienced lately back home in South Dakota. The carne asada especially stood out. The portion was massive, tender, and packed with smoky, savory flavor. You could immediately tell it had actually spent some time on a grill instead of simply being rushed out of a kitchen. We also enjoyed the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, all of which had that comforting Tex-Mex richness and seasoning that we've really missed. Unfortunately, we were on a fairly tight travel schedule and couldn't linger the way we would have liked. Honestly, this felt like the sort of place where you could easily sit awhile longer, enjoy another drink, sample more dishes, and just soak in the lively atmosphere. Still, even as a quick stop, it was a great experience and a delicious reminder of how much we miss the bold Mexican food culture of the Southwest.
